We all know that 2015 has been very difficult year for Newcastle and we have just 7 wins in our 36 league games and 20 defeats.
Our performances in the FA Cup and League Cup were not much better and in three ties we won one – against League Two side Northampton Town – and lost two.
So in total this year so far we have played 39 games – lost 22 and won only eight – a win rate of 20.5% and a loss rate of 56.4%.
Now we know why Newcastle fans are not the happiest of fans at the moment.
Vurnon Anita – admits 2015 has been difficult year
Vurnon Anita had a good game for us against Aston Villa on Saturday and came in third in our Man of the Match voting behind Rob Elliot and Chancel Mbemba.
The Dutch International has been interviewed and he has looked back on 2015:
“I look back at 2015 as a year with a lot of ups and downs. A difficult year. Last season went down to the last game.”
“Then the new season started with draws and losses. Now we have had a few wins and hopefully we can end 2015 good and start 2016 afresh.”
“It has been different. You can take the experience and do better.” “We have had to be strong mentally and to keep going.”
“The last few games you can see how hard we have worked, and also you need a little bit of luck on our side.” “We can be a very good team and win games.”
“The consistency is the quality we need. That has to change. You can see we have a good team that should stay up.” “And we have shown that.” But we have to keep on the level and win games.”
We have had two fairly mediocre managers in – John Carver and Steve McClaren – since Alan Pardew left the club for Crystal Palace and both have struggled to get the results.
[table “42” not found /]It could be that Steve is starting to turn things around and we could have a much better second half of the season than we have had in our first 17 games.
That’s what we have to hope for – and that we can also pull away from the relegation zone – so we are not fighting relegation again.

Comment #43I think the basic duty for the fullbacks in the system we play is to get up and down the flank as often as they can, knowing the DM on their side is there tucked in and behind providing cover and support when they bomb on. Dummett is a decent defensive fullback who does his best to get forward, but he’s not really suited to the role. I understand the defensive duties need to be shared around in this system, and players need to track back, but if the full back isn’t going forward the system isn’t working.

I reckon he’s probably a rugby fan now.

Comment #47Jimmy that’s why I’m saying don’t try it. it’s not mandatory to do the overlap if your players aren’t up to it then it’s a positively bad idea. If we could get our defence to get themselves in order at the back and limit their forward runs, maybe our midfield might have more movement. A bit old fashioned but lesser skilled teams do it well. I’m not saying don’t overlap at all, just make it rare enough to be a novelty.

Comment #48I don’t know what Beattie is doing. He popped up a couple of months ago during some crisis but disappeared again. I wish he’d come back and take some of the heat for us like the old days, he was a top whipping boy was Beatrice. 🙂
I still laugh out loud when I recall his ill -advised foray as a mysterious blogger and his line when he got caught out – ” I didn’t think it through”.
You had to be there I suppose but it still creases me up.

Comment #54Victor Wanyama was paddling along the non-river Solent pondering over whether he should join Unite or Unison to sever his employment with Bournemouth, so he could join his boyhood heroes at Real Vallllecano. But as they were actually only a credit union, he decided to get a reasonable loan instead and fund his legal battle that way.
Ooooooooooops!

I had a psychiatrist friend look at the various posters on here and the conclusions he came up with are too alarming to post.
I will say one note of caution.
Mr Tuff should not be allowed near moving machinery or allowed to use sharp implements.
The rest of his analysis is too disturbing for repetition.

Apparently the vasr majority of Bundesliga teams have a system whereby fans own 51% of their club so no individual or group can seize control.

Comment #76Tsunki what Jimmy is rightly pointing out is if you have two dms like we do the full backs must push up and overlap otherwise we lack a threat big time. If we want our full backs to stay back then drop a dm and put someone like gini in the centre and a winger on the left. At the moment the left side is complete unbalancing the team because we have no threat at all with gini pushing in tight. Dummet is a disgrace and shouldn’t be considered a prem player and lb is the biggest priority for me in Jan over CB/st/winger and cm which we need badly also.

Comment #77No it’s choice not compulsory
For example Wolfsburg is owned completely by VW

Dec 23, 2015 at 11:12 PM
Comment #78let’s say 10,000 fans owned 51% of NUFC aren’t a few individuals in the trust going to have the power and be a proxy owner and the fans will then hate them.

Comment #79A clue is in the name
In German a football club is a Fussball verein.
Verein also means union in German.
Most footy clubs started as general sports unions with memberships.
