If We Play As A Team Against Everton – Anything Is Possible

3:14 pm, Thursday, December 24th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 9 Comments

Gini Wijnaldum has been our best buy last summer and he’s already started to pay of his £14.5M transfer fee with seven Premier league goals this season and he’s Newcastle’s top goalscorer with 7 goals.

And that;s not too bad when you consider Gini is playing on midfield and out on the wing too.

That may not be his best position at Newcastle but it’s where Steve McClaren has him playing at the moment as he finds room for other players in the side – like Siem de Jong.

Great shot of Gini Wijnaldum – after scoring against Liverpool

This is what Gini Wijnaldum has said in the Chronicle today:

“If you’d said that we would beat Liverpool and Tottenham at the beginning of that run – people would have said you were crazy.”

“We have to be happy after the results in the last three games. It’s good for us.” “That said, we were disappointed not to beat Aston Villa and make it three wins.”

“I was disappointed because I thought we had the chance to win the game. We fought to win it, but missed out.”

“We did well and had good spirit but I was still disappointed because we had some good opportunities to win the game.”

“That’s football, sometimes you will miss chances and sometimes you will score.” “Sometimes you will miss easy chances then score the difficult.”

“That’s the game. Against Villa we didn’t win because we missed easy chances so it’s disappointing.”

“If we play as a team and fight hard, and play our football where it’s possible, we can win most games in the Premier League.”

“That includes Everton, although it will be a difficult match.” “Everton are better than Aston Villa and have a lot of good players.”

“So it will be tough, but if we do it as a team anything is possible.”

The fans are split almost three ways about the result on Saturday afternoon in another late kickoff game.

But we’d just love to see Newcastle win again – and that would be three wins in four games and hopefully we could be on our way in the new year.

We certainly hope so – it’s been a very difficult 2015 for Newcastle fans – that’s for sure.

If we sign another African CB to partner Mbemba post this season, then the transfer trio should be replaced by The Three Stooges. Would be a truly dumb decision.

On the question of working for the team, could it be that, rather than the Brits do it and the rest don’t, that it’s the French players who, on the whole, are not so keen to run/tackle back etc as the other nationalities.
Obviously there’ll be exceptions to this, but looking at some of the players we’ve had over the years, and we’ve had quite a few Frenchmen, there was Ginola, Robert, Ben Arfa, all players of enormous talent, but frustrating at times when it came to work rate. In the present set up there’s Sissoko of course, Marveaux, not sure about Rivière. Gouffran though is the exception.
    Just a thought.

Voted that we will lose against Everton
Normally when a player go out & speaks ahead of the game
He let the fans down , I’ve noticed that this season
So here you go , Wijnaldum will have another bad game
I think we will get hammered , Their manager know that we are good at counter attacking , he wont fully commit to it , he will try to test & frustrate us by keeping the ball
He might play with a fully defensive midfielder and a fast football with the skills he has on the wings + his attacking fullbacks and with considering our SHOCKING 2 fullbacks ( Dummett and Janmaat ) both can’t defend
This will be a disgraceful result for us and Newcastle
    1-4 defeat
