Merry Xmas To Newcastle Fans Around The World

11:06 pm, Thursday, December 24th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 37 Comments

In about an hour it will be Christmas Day in England and Newcastle, and we’d like to wish all our readers, and all the fans of Newcastle United Football Club around the world, a Merry Xmas and all the very best in the New Year.

merry xmas

It’s again been an up and down season for the Magpies, but we do have 14 points in our last nine games and that’s a big improvement from the first eight games and only 3 points.

We look forward to Newcastle building a top side next year and in future years and at some point  – sooner rather than later – challenging again for a top six place in the Premier League.

Merry Xmas to Newcastle United fans around the world wherever you may be.

This is our ninth Christmas on the blog – and who knows – we may even be around next year.

    Belfast

    Cant see us getting Austin.

Recent results would dictate the Fatman takes a *unt (punt) and rides it out to the end of season. High risk strategy but something he seems to love. I luv it when it goes wrong !!

    FatAsh out!!!

  • 13 BlacknWhiteBarmy // Dec 24, 2015 at 11:37 PM

    As Sir Bob says
“It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

All first games should be a night game!!!!

As you get to the top of the stairs and see the pitch for the first time ….. something else

We have all seen footie pitches …. but SJP at night – WOW

Everton are a good team. Hope we can compete 🙁

We should be killing these teams …. but

  • 37 lesh // Dec 25, 2015 at 3:42 PM

Now we’ve pulled the crackers and laughed at the riddles –

How to monkeys make toast? Under the gorilla!!!!

Where does a pony go when it’s ill? The Horsepital!!

    And the big one:

Given Ashley’s policy of buy cheap to sell high, can anyone show that it’s worked financially?

By that I mean take the cost of players, their wages, their sell-on fee and the prize money gained or lost during such players’ presence at the Club?

In other words, did selling players at a substantial profit cover the cost of their presence at the Club and did they enhance its profile impact on prize money and TV money?

Specific examples would help – if the poser makes sense.
