Poll – Can Newcastle Win The Final Game Of A Disastrous Year?

As we said earlier today, we’ll be (very) pleased when we have finished playing the game tomorrow at the Hawthorns,  because that will signal the end of what has been a disastrous year for Newcastle United Football Club.

And a nightmare year for the (very) long-suffering fans.

We only just avoided relegation last May in the very last game of the season, and that was after losing eight game on the trot under John Carver.

At the moment we are in third bottom place in the Premier League after a poor first half of this season under Steve McClaren, but thankfully playing a lot better than the team ever did under Carver.

Rob Elliot – our Man of the Match again yesterday

But maybe the players can come back strongly from the cruel loss against Everton at home yesterday to beat West Brom?

Welsh – Boaz Myhill is Welsh and a goalkeeper playing for WBA he made a mistake for the Swansea win.

The previous 7 years weren’t much better, I’ll be glad when the slugs tenure is over never mind 2015.

2016 will be a Different year but with the same mismanagement of club.

The only thing that matters right now is have the regime realised how far from have a capable squad we are and even a balanced starting xi. We ARE in a relegation battle yet we hear they only want a winger and striker….wake the hell up.

We have one of the worst defences in the league and an injury to Mbemba would kill us. We need a quality replacement for colo and Dummett who should be on the bench not playing every week.

In central midfield we have 2 central midfielders who are probably the worst in the league snd should be 3rd and 4th choice. We MUST buy at least 1 defensive midfield playmaker in January or waive goodbye to the premier league.

We do need a left winger to help balance the midfield with thauvin to learn from as well.

We MUST buy an experienced striker to take the chances that our young strike force have been missing.

I’d also buy a keeper as without elliot we would be in even worse trouble.

The big question is: Which team will Berahino support?

I was hopeful that for once we might have a good xmas period but that possibility has been blown out of the water already.

So more of the same and a loss to WBA now expected.

    🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

I see he came on as a sub probably with our game in mind.

Welsh- More trivia for the pub quiz:
The 1927 FA cup final was the only time the cup left England.
    Cardiff 1
    Arsenal 0.
The Arsenal goalkeeper Dan Lewis, a Welshman made a mistake for the Cardiff goal.

1926-1927 was also the fourth and last time( to date) Newcastle won the League Title.

thing is what money we have had carr has wasted hugely on expensive duds like riviere, cabella, thauvin, etc, while players from the same league like Mahrez and kante have come for peanuts and succeeded under a good manager. I really don’t get all this carr is a super scout nonsense.

It’s got to be time to drop Colback, play Gini in CM ahead of a defensive Anita with Thauvin on the left (only because we have zero option but at least he’s a genuine wide man) and Sissoko on the right (only because we don’t have any choice) Given the choice, I’d have dropped Sissoko too. Forget about his forward bursts once or twice a half, it’s the alarming lack of cover he gives Janmaat which is causing us problems. In fact, yesterday when Sissoko actually made a tackle near the end of the game in Janmaat’s position, we all had to do a double-take as I think that’s the first time ive ever seen him tackle like that.

Gini, as much as I think he’s a creative, attack minded force I’m afraid he’s utterly wasted in our team the way we are set up. Having him play there does nothing for Dummett either, the lad is not a LB and doesnt have the drive or technique to beat a man or get a decent delivery into the box. Not the way Janmaat does on the right at least.

So what we need to do tomorrow is to start with De Jong and Mirtovic, as Siem has shown he can bring others into the game. Have Thauvin out left who will hopefully add some width/attacking options and Mitro can hopefully get a chance to show why we bought him. I feel for the lad, one or two chances per game is all he’s getting at the minute, world-class strikers don’t even score every other chance they get in a game and yet loads of fans are writing the big lad off.

i always thought a quick mobile striker like a Berahino (not him necessarily but similar ) would work better than a mitro who is slow, doesn’t go past people and needs crosses and even then isn’t great, at least not in this league.

433 or 343 with pace would work way better, even AP saw that for 2 x 6 games, 2 years apart!

SM plays with as much fear as AP and JC previously, all about not losing rather than going out to win. Players then get into a negative mindset.

I fail to see how anybody can take a positive from yesterday ….

    It was an embarrassment.
Our first touch in their box was 25 minutes, and we were at home.

We created next to nothing for the whole game.
A clueless manager who plays 4-4-2 against Everton.
Clueless players who are scared to come short for the ball.
An absolute joke of a performance.

People need to stop with this ‘we tried hard’.
What, so trying hard is creating 2 chances at home, both we’re headers?
You’re not trying hard if you can’t do the basics right.

Does anybody know tge name of the scout that discovered Christiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale. No, and nor should you, scouts are meant to recommend players not dictate policy and be board members, especially failed conference league managers.

    Nufc 83,
welshgeordie9 is a wind up merchant, look back at his posts, when he thought he could get a bite by slating Pardew he did, when he realised there was more mileage in singing his praises he did, calling Pardew a legend and hero is said purely to annoy people, don’t know why people put up with it.

    Jail –

Why do people put up with it?
What are they supposed to do – gang up and try to have him banned?

Answer is – ignore him. Totally.
No arguments, no discussions, no acknowledgement.
