I can’t believe I have just heard mclaren say we started well. We got smashed at the beginning of the game!! He also went on about all the chances we created was I watching a different game as I only seen 1 or 2 what the hell is he on. He goes on about hard work but without quality hard work won’t cut it and I’m afraid there’s little quality in the team made worse by terrible tactics and decisions from that clown. Get him out now!!

If you think Mitrovic is bad, you’re one deluded person.

Mitrovic is a player with brilliant hold up play, attacks the ball in the air, a good finisher.

He missed a couple of chances recently, but what striker doesn’t?
What else has he had to feed off of?
    Nothing.

People contradict themselves by saying we’re bad etc, etc then moaning at the strikers not scoring.
    DELUSIONAL.

He was about to bury one today before he was pulled to the floor. How is that his fault?

Seriously, I don’t get how some people even come up with their comments. It’s like making up a bad transfer rumour.

hand on heart i can honestly say that if elliott or krul was playing we would have had a draw minimum there !

the defence played very well esp colo and mbemba but even so they was terrified and on edge looking every time at darlow 2-3 times which is a distraction at best.

anita also had a very good game making a nuisance of himself before he was pulled off but i must say that from the first 5 mins that colback and darlow would be a hinderance to us.

janmaat didnt have a great game either nor did perez who lacked the quality in that game to effect anything.
siem was pretty much the same and he’s too slow and not enough work rate for my liking.

mitro is the only pure striker we have now cisse is injured but tbf to him he’s asked to do a lot defensively also and he aint a fast striker so would be unfair to expect him up and down the field non stop + he should have had a penno.

we need a finisher and to stop playing 2 dm’s and wij on the wing as he and sissoko are the only 2 that make things happen for our strikers atm.

    jesper,

The club freely admits that the loss of advertising revenue affects our ability to compete on the pitch.
They continue to argue that this is a fair return for Mr Ashley’s loan.
Securing permanent paying assets for himself against loans that can, and will, be recalled, is what Ashley inflicted on Rangers too.
That loan will never be paid off (though the accounts may show massive and inexplicable rises in our running costs.)
It is a hijacking. Like offering a mortgage loan in return for the free use of your house.
These egregious “arrangements’ are at the heart of our inability to compete.
As long as the manager hasn’t the option of putting out three fully functioning units…as long as strengthening the defence means weakening the midfield or vice versa, he will always be robbing Peter to pay Paul tactically.
MClaren seems to have settled on the only thing Pardew could make work….sitting deep and hoping to snatch something from a handful of attacks.

And now it seems it’s mcclarens fault now
but how am I one dimensional in pointing out exactly why we aren’t doing well
in pointing out the owner squad recruitment running of the club please explain it

not much choice for a second striker or left wing but i’d rather perez be used there and wij in the middle.

I can’t understand how most fans can see playing two dms is killing us and playing gini out of position is unbalancing the side completely. Pardew used to do exactly the same things yet these guys are paid massive amounts of money and respected in the footballing world. What is wrong is it the fans are we all being stupid due to the lack of in depth knowledge. I really can’t explain how simple things don’t seem to be picked up or changed by these guys???

We have 3 players who are some of our best players but don’t have a true position.

Gini- decent player but where would you play him. Csnt play him cm as doesn’t have the all round passing game if anywhere I would have him as no 10 due to his timing of runs in the box but still not an ideal no10 either.

Sissokho- does not have the crossing ability to be an out and out wide player yet certainly not technically good enough to be in the centre in which it’s more crowded.

SDJ- not mobile or physical enough to be a st and probably another no10 but does he have the creativity and vision??

    Sage,
We lack creativity. Nobody scores goals with the limited opportunities we create. Mitro and Cisse would score goals if we afforded them regular opportunities.

Aguero, Costa, Lukaku wouldn’t get regular goals playing for us. Mitro has a better goals to shots taro than Austin did last season. Creating chances is our problem, and unless we get a goalscorer like Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar then a striker won’t help.

I think our strikers lack movement as well…but again it’s difficult to judge as why would they move as much when the pass never comes…it’s catch 22.

Like you say we need to decide on a style of play.

Either go out and buy a couple of wingers who get the ball in the box or buy a couple of crafty players for the middle of the park.

Ideally both, but we something in January.

We need a lb who can actually play football not just run round and be good st blocking shots. We need a cm who has excellent range of passing and can threaten the opposition from distance (when was the last time you see our mids strike a long range effort- every week when cabaye was here). A winger who beats his man gets to the line and whips crosses in for days. Then we could do with a goal scorer but no point until others are bought.

The 50 million is to all intents and purposes 35 because Thauvin doesn’t figure. Thats more like 25 mill in old money because with the money now in the league any player gets a 30% mark up to the EPL, and this to a squad that was already on the bones of it’s arse, and of course injuries, again, and again, and there’s Macca, very much the cheap and uninspired option, after 6 months deliberation. We desperately need a big signing to lift the group, in any of 6 positions.

NUFC 83 What you are really saying is we have 3 players that may be good enough. I’d say that too but my third would be Elliott not Siem (he’s done nothing yet maybe down to illness or whatever ). The rest are just making up the numbers.McL is in a cleft stick situation he is only picking from 13 at best (now 12 with Anita out) as the others are just not good enough. Unless we get a Far Eastern suitor willing to plunge £500M in were doomed. Surely Cashley won’t throw more bad money after bad (£50M this season thus far). So what happens. He takes Townsend on Loan & hopes Obertan /Aarons can fit the other wide berth if fit & tucks Wijn & Sissoko in the hole behind The Thug. Defence is still crap & midfield is weak so we continue to leak goals. Any answers anyone please?

    I can’t abide Mourinho but he’s free.
Shelvey in black and white would be a good fit.
Stoke beat Everton away by scoring four goals, we lost to Everton by one and Shaqiri who we avoided signing seems to be doing quite well.
    I’m confused.

It is true that players like Shearer score goals out of nowhere. They see an opening and create themselves a small pocket and fire off.

They are very instinctive infont of goal.

Any goalkeeper can make a similar mistake, even one as experienced as LLoris(when Perez scored against him a few weeks ago)
He might well be needed in goal this coming Saturday. The last thing likely to help him is a good rollicking.

    Sage,
We don’t play to his strengths. He had a very good game today and the team created nothing for him. His interplay and touch was better than it has been in most of his games.

The creativity coupled with Sissoko and Gini wide mean that no centre forward will score regular goals.

A couple of seasons ago I remember mentioning what a bunch of square pegs we had bought for our round holes squad board. They were much better pegs than the ones we have now. Proof that buying individuals on an accrual basis has nothing to do with assembling a team. I think it’s worth revisiting the argument of whether we are being treated as fans or gullible punters, and whether their is any mileage in continuing to support it financially.

NUFC 83 WE know what WE need but if you were Cashley & had his money would you “invest” it in a sinking ship. The answer is no. We need first to get to the bottom of the injury crisis that we have been in for several years now. Is it the training? is it the boots they wear? are they just not fit enough??? We can’t keep paying the likes of Saylor big money to play what 20 first team games in 4 years. Perhaps injured players should only get sick pay, after all that’s what you or I would get if were lucky. No the prognosis is very grim

I agree to an extent….I still think Mitro isn’t as good as some on here think, but I’m willing to give the guy plenty of time as he is young and learning in a very poor team.

Until we sort out the build up, like you say, we are going nowhere.
