Here are the video highlights and West Brom’s winning goal today at The Hawthorns that plunged Newcastle deeper into relegation trouble.
We are now 5 points worse off than we were in our relegation season after 19 games played.

Ashley will he stick or buy
Got a funny feeling he will stick and hope the Mackems and Villa are down and chance his arm that we have the players and manager to finish above Swansea or Norwich.
If so I do not think we are capable of finish above them
Don’t know if it is
the players
their desire
Managers tactics/nouse
and if a decent offer comes in for anyone he will offload
Hope I am wrong

Carr is working on Mr Ashley’s Pannini stickers collection. Not the good ones, just the obscure ones that he might get a canny mark up on.
He doesn’t seem charged with building a team for Newcastle United.
We don’t have a team. The owner has a playing assets portfolio….that tried and tested (to destruction) formula of every cute-as-a-box-of- monkeys owner who thought he could re-invent the wheel and is now busy doing so in lower league football.

Comment #84The only players due back from injury or illness soon are Aarons and Elliot. Little to choose from on the bench. Lots of sick notes picking up fantastic pay packets. We needed a clear out 2 seasons ago let alone now. It still needs to be done. McLaren looks lost to me and unless we get 3 or 4 top players in he’ll just keep fielding the same 11 with the same tactics.

Comment #85You are spot on Charlie.
Have you seen S Mc report to the Chronicle:
The loss to the Baggies was the Magpies’ 10th defeat in just 19 Premier League games, meaning Newcastle will begin 2016 with five fewer points than halfway through the 2008-09 campaign, when they were relegated.
Despite this, head coach Steve McClaren has offered a ‘half-term report’ on United’s season so far which puts more of a positive spin on their perilous predicament, suggesting the Magpies are beginning to find “consistency”.
It is “luck” McClaren believes has not been on United’s side, particularly given the fact Aleksandar Mitrovic should have been awarded a penalty on the hour mark at The Hawthorns.
Has he completely lost the plot! You can’t rely on luck – when did Toon last get a penalty? You have to make your own luck.
January will see loan players at best. Forget megabucks for Carroll or Austin. Anyway we have enough sicknotes!

Comment #86You couldn’t make this pathetic mess up if you tried. A completely non-existent MD in Charnley, a retiree head scout with what is looking to be an increasingly poor record in player signings, a bargain bin head coach with nothing fresh or innovative and a completely disinterested owner.

Comment #88Having the mackems and Villa go down won’t help us Charlie @82. 18th place is looking increasingly likely for us. A sad sack team with no heart for a relegation battle led by a head coach who is likely to cut and run if things continue in the same direction.

Comment #89Agree Geordie Two but who is going to take these wastrels of our hands? Perhaps Carr should be given the task of getting rid of them by Ashley on the condition that he makes a profit on them.
With respect Mc has little or no quality to call on. Just needs them to play as a team for each other & hunt in packs like the Liverpool game until he gets more options. But realistically both he and Cashley must know were doomed without more class in strategic positions

Comment #90last season we were lucky not to get relegated am I right?
Now I feel as if we now deserve to get, we are all fans with different views but we are the one’s who get punished by Mike & Co and the players and staff.
These guys don’t care about us regardless what they say in the press!
Time for NOT getting behind the team!
Time to take action!

Relegation
Could be the best thing to happen to us – this fighting relegation season after season in the end gets to you the fans/players/city the piss take.
Maybe a couple of seasons out of the premiership spotlight – clear-out of everything Newcastle United may make supporting Newcastle United a happier place.
As for Ashley he has either got to sell up or completely change business plan/ethos of the club

Comment #92Aye West Lancs mate. I think players like Saylor and Obertan are worthless now. Release them outright and eat the cost. Focus on trying to save the careers of players like Aarons before he becomes a permanent sick note as well. Loan or sell Riviere back to the French leagues. Good is probably finished before he starts as well with all the injuries. Riviere was supposed to be a top scorer. You’ve got to be jokin’ Carr. He looks worse than Luuk de Jong. A weak club like ours under Ashley can’t afford half a dozen sick notes. Get crackin’ Carr.

Comment #93Get ready for the annual 31st Jan announcement. “We tried to bring in a number of quality players but at the end of the day we didn’t quite manage to get them over the line”.
However we have brought in a winger on loan who can’t even get in his host club’s first team & are looking to bring in an emergency goalkeeper on loan if necessary.
Before that defeat at Watford (out of FA Cup) means Toon’s season is over yet again in January for the umpteenth season running.

Comment #103Mitrovic is shite, that’s 5 bad misses over the last 3 games. Shearer would’ve had 5/5 even Ba would’ve had 5/5, Mitrovic 0/5.
He takes those chances, we’re looking at least 4pts better than we are. Useless lump.

Comment #105Reilly.You can throw this years form book in the bin . Most of our points have come against the so called big clubs. It’s against the crap we have lost all the points to & like S Mc says it must be our turn for some luck.
Don’t worry our multi millionaire Mike Cashley is going to reach for his cheque book & spend £100Million on all the players we need or was that just a dream?

Take it from me mate Mike Ashley won’t be to happy with Lee and the current situation we are in.
THis doesn’t mean he will buy in Jan because we need to sell first before we buy and players like Perez and Sissoko could be out soon leaving us even weaker.

Comment #109Can someone tell me who it is at Newcastle United who is carrying the torch for the club, and is not just a guy taking the cash for playing “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
We are encouraged to regard true club legends like Shearer and Keegan as “the enemy without.”
What did these guys ever do for us?
Failures and bitter yesterday’s men. Pah!
They are all to blame.
Only poor, misunderstood Mike hasn’t put a foot wrong.
Beset on all sides with vile people who suspect there has to be something wrong with a man who employs an army of lawyers to destroy anyone who can’t see that young children are surefire exploitable assets.
Of course he’ll buy us the defender we need.
He’s that kind of guy.

Comment #112No but seriously this injury problem has been a long standing issue for many seasons now. Is down to training, fitness, wrong boots, fatigue from outside sources or what.It really does need looking into and addressing. We have been top of this particular league table for far too long. It really doesn’t seem right that they can continue drawing full salary, I think £40000 for Saylor – ridiculous!!

Comment #114if im right in what im thinking,we have team of mix and match,1 played cm in a 442(sissoko)now playing wide right,1 played right midfield in a 433(gini) now playingleft of att/mid,1 played wing back for his country(janmaat)..and no doubt theres a few more maybe they are so disjointed and theres no cohesion coz they are all square pegs in round holes, just tryin squeeze the better players into side anyway possible just so they are on the pitch…instead of picking a shape and picking the best players for those positions and upsetting a few so called big names….times running out something has start happening…..upto now we’ve played 19,the next 5 are not exactly home bankers, games are running short,if ash is to back macca…he has to spend coz without it i cant see us getting out of the bottom 3….hope im wrong and im wearing the big furry donkey ears come the end of the season….but i suspect i wont unfortunately

Comment #118Now listen to this. Just googled players salaries. After Colo £60K per week, highest paid are Marvaux (can’t get a game) £60K per week, Gouffran (bit player) £55K per week , Obertan (sick note) £40K per week & Saylor (long term sickie) £35K per week & poor old Rob Elliott is on £12K per Week.
What are we doing????
