Newcastle’s Strange Way Of Trying to Sign Top English Striker

9:30 pm, Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 57 Comments

Newcastle fans are doing their best to try to get a good striker to Newcastle in January who can score some goals for us and help the club survive in the Premier League.

Somebody living in the Leicester are have done their bit to try to lure a certain Jamie Vardy to Newcastle.

Jamie’s fiancee Becky Nicholson has put this out on her Twitter account.

Well it was worth a try.

Wonder if he’ll take up the offer – but from our secret sources in Leicester we understand the shirt wasn’t even his size.

Damn it!

🙂 🙂 🙂

Here’s a nice picture of the couple.

next step guys all meet at vardy’s house around 4 am we will paint his whole house in black and white stripes 😉

  • 2 Our Toon // Jan 5, 2016 at 9:40 PM

Hope for England’s sake vardy rediscovers his touch 1 in 6 is his latest record and a few misses which he should have buried. Was hoping Leicester would at least continue competing for the title or CL spot

Blackley – well that’s fair enough. I guess that’s why he’s Mike and we aren’t, otherwise we’d know as much as him about his first deeds. I don’t go along with any sum being piffling up Jim though. We are talking about an avaricious man, he moves money around for a reason. All money.

  • 4 Tsunki // Jan 5, 2016 at 9:56 PM

First deeds = dirty deeds 🙂

  • 5 Tsunki // Jan 5, 2016 at 9:58 PM

And piffling up Jim? What kind of evil phone is this? It was supposed to say ” piffling to him”

    Sorry Jim, no offence!

you said “I’ve long thought the club is just a billionaire’s toy to him. Plus he loves the power he wields. ”

fcuking perfectly summed up…. well said…

  • 7 BandB // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:03 PM

    That’s fair enough.
The amount by which SD and other Ashley concerns benefit is by the by to some extent.
The undeniable fact that the club isn’t getting anything from it.
It says so, and it concedes the loss of this revenue effects its ability to compete on the pitch.
And if that’s by the by to some as well, then that’s just how they see things.

  • 8 optimistic prime // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:08 PM

If he really had the best intentions for the club he’d let it pay back the loan!

  • 9 BandB // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:14 PM

The club says the loan is the investment that justifies the free advertising. It saved us a fortune in bank charges, the club says.
But it is a solidified debt. And of course, it is just a loan.
Yesterday, Jib was making the point yesterday that the deal gets better and better for Ashley with each passing year.

  • 10 dok - the horrid colonial // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:14 PM

if MA had best intentions, hed sell it to the supporters and go away…

  • 11 BandB // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:23 PM

It’s like when you consolidate all of your old loans into one new loan.
The interest rate you pay comes down, but the overall debt has gone up.

  • 12 angelswithdirtyfaces // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:33 PM

B&B….. an extra bit of debt may be to pay Pep’s wedge…

  • 13 BandB // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:39 PM

Thanks for the link, but I think it might be broken,
I’m was scrolling down the list of English clubs he’d consider taking on, but it seems to stop before it gets to us.
Are you sure that’s the right one?

  • 14 Tsunki // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:51 PM

it’s weird isn’t it? Not a man of the cloth or city fat cat to be seen on the blog tonight. Guess the meat was a little gamey then 🙂

What was that line yesterday BandB? Something about an unsuccessful A level campaign ha ha I guess Ian is still sore round the nether regions with that one 😀

  • 15 BandB // Jan 5, 2016 at 10:56 PM

No blogging for me after 11pm.
    So I can’t comment.
It’s nice not to have to explain a joke.
    Where is Ibiza, anyway?

Apparently, many top captains of industry and corporate owners are said to be psycopathic or have many psycopathic traits.

Our Father which art in basement
    Ian toon be thy name.
    Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
    as it is in basement
Give us this day our daily finances
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those
    who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us some eggnog
    For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
    forever and ever.

  • 26 Tsunki // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:19 PM

Belfast actually that was funny. I can see now why you struck out on your solo career. You could be as great as welshie.

  • 27 Jib // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:19 PM

Ashley is not a captain of industry.
He is a retailer who got bloody lucky.

  • 28 Jib // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:22 PM

Jerry Lewis was never as funny once he split with Dean Martin.

Lil ole wine drinker Tsunki 😀

Baby steps Belfast. Look how long it took Gary Barlow.

  • 32 jane // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:23 PM

lets say the club will make £200m if they are in the Premier league this season and next season. subtract £50m spent in the last window and subtract around £40m profit they will want to make and that leaves about how much will be spent in January and the summer. simples!

  • 33 Tsunki // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:24 PM

Jeff I’m more of a single malt man myself. Although if a Rioja is decent enough I won’t pass it up.

  • 34 jane // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:26 PM

“He is a retailer who got bloody lucky”

disagree he surely must have very good business aptitude.

  • 35 Tsunki // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:29 PM

Isn’t a retailer who gets lucky a good businessman? Maybe he makes his own luck. Who knows? Bon soir, tout le monde.

  • 36 jane // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:30 PM

I presume we should want SD to be successful as this will probably be better for NUFC than if SD struggle.

  • 37 BandB // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:40 PM

Sports Direct is always remembered in my evening prayers, Jane.
    You too, eh?

  • 38 jane // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:44 PM

BandB that actually did make me laugh out loud. you are obviously righteous for your prayers to be so effective. yes of course since it’s a good cause.

  • 39 optimistic prime // Jan 5, 2016 at 11:49 PM

IMO it was only ever to benifit one man.
Apparantley the loan would have been paid off last year, he stumped up some when he got us relegated through miss management. He should foot that bill.

Do our operating costs keep going up so we can’t service the debt?

    Win win for Ashley
    Lose lose for NUFC

    News coming up tomorrow afternoon:
Jean-Michel Aulas reject Newcastle’s bid 18.4m£ on Alexandre Lacazette.

  • 43 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 5:23 AM

Saw we are no longer first on the injury table after Liverpool got 2 more injured in cup game last night.

  • 44 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 5:27 AM

Lovren, Coutinho, Sakho, Sturridge, Ings, Gomez, Skrtel Origi, Henderson, Rossiter, Flanagan

^ wow. The thing is Liverpool have an excuse for losing games. Apart from the last 2 players all are first teamers. Meaning if they were fit they would start the match.

With us, we don’t have excuses with injuries because only Krul & Haidara would be starters. The rest of our players injured would make be on the bench anyway if they were fit.

  • 45 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 5:33 AM

There are some excellent players we could actually get this window:

    1. Wesley Sneidjer
    2. Wahbi Khazri (Bordeaux)
    3. Hakim Ziyech (FC Twente)

    Read about em on here:

  • 46 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 5:35 AM

Interestingly as well after Benitez’s sacking there are many Liverpool fans who have come out & said they would love to have him back & let Klopp go now.

  • 47 firebug666 // Jan 6, 2016 at 6:48 AM

So we are still stuck with Williamson after wolves turn their attention elsewhere. Apparently they refused to meet Newcastle’s asking price and are now expected to make a bid for Bolton Wanderers Dorian Dervite in the coming days.

  • 48 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:16 AM

firebug…are we asking money for Willo? I thought all he needed was a bus ticket 😉

  • 49 jazzyp // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:17 AM

Hopefully Shef wed step up and sign him up.
Plenty of links this morning of a 25 mill bid on Lacazette.Shows ambition if true.Would be amazed if a big name moved in the Jan transfer window.

  • 50 Tsunki // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:21 AM

Looks like they didn’t offer wolves enough to take him.

  • 51 Tsunki // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:23 AM

Be amazed to see many continental players attracted by a move to the Northern part of a cold country knee deep in water.

  • 52 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:27 AM

Mike Williamson has over 100 Premier League appearances.

He’s worth at least a couple pounds.

  • 53 davis_toons // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:40 AM

    Louis Saha was here…

  • 54 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:42 AM

Lacezzette rumour was based on euros. So would be 19mil pound bid roughly.

Other clubs will bid 20mil+ for him & Ashley won’t bid above that. Think we will get outbid for him.

  • 55 hibbitt // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:43 AM

boro asked about willo in the summer and were quoted 2m his contract is up in july and we still want to sell him for an inflated price we can depend on charnley to f££k things up

  • 56 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:43 AM

Also mate there would be wages to contend with. Konoployanka would have been a very good signing but wanted 100k+ which is why we didn’t get him. A striker worth 19mil at least will want that also.

  • 57 Magpie Season // Jan 6, 2016 at 7:46 AM

Isn’t Williamson still injured? Why would anyone sign him while he is?
