Watford 1 – Newcastle 0 – Video Highlights

Troy Deeney – after scoring winning goal today

Here are the video highlights of today’s game when it was really all Newcastle, but we missed too many chances and it’s the fourth game in a row  we haven’t scored and been beaten by the only goal of the game.

🙁

We need two strikers brought in quickly – so the powers that be at Newcastle who are responsible for running the club need to wake up and get some players in during January – and quickly too.

    From previous; previous,

    West Lancs Geordie @20

I agree mate, on the few occasions I watched him play he did very well, has good pace and a good eye for a cross, gets past players to the byline and can also defend at LB.

Those are the attributes that help a team win games, hence his being shipped out on loan and possibly sold.

    Same as Abied I’m afraid.

    Highlights!
    Meanwhile on BBC Newcastle
“Total Sport” is over time for “Beat Surrender” – somehow appropriate!

Judging by the highlights, our plY was actually quite good. Need to add goal scorers. Proven and clinical ones like Austin and remy.

We need someone to get a goal. Sooner the better.

Meanwhile, Swansea must be really hacked off with Shelvey to consider selling him to a relegation rival.

Let’s hope he’d be burning to send them down instead of us.
Which would make them look daft, I suppose?

Wow highlights show created chance after chance but we failed to score yet again and with our defence we are always likely to concede – ronaldo totally agree Remy and Austin would be great additions but we have been there before – if we don’t sign a proven goalscorer/s we are going down !!!

Looking at Ed’s highlights package, it looks like we set up plenty of chances to win that game.
Terrible finishing. A yard wide, and yard too straight, a yard too slow.

    Tudor,

You have to say that what we’ve seen of him in black and white suggests not. He may have improved a lot, but Shola looked a monster in a lower league, only to look back to normal playing in the Prem.

If we put Arma back in the team no doubt we’ll revert to long ball so to play to his obvious strengths

I’d take recalling Armstrong now as a hint that we WERE hoping to save money…..for a proven striker.

Carr watches players over an extended period. Pardew once said that (when asked in my hearing) was to ensure that your not overly influenced by a players recent performances- simply, what he did last might not be what he does next. My brother was at the Watford game and he said Sissoko worked really hard almost with the window in mind.
We’ve got to be rational in the market rather than buy for as little as possible with re- sale in mind. We’re staring down the barrel.

Apparently Armstrong needs more experience, even though he appears to be able to make forward runs and get his shots on target. A lost art with our forwards right now.

    He should be recalled immediately.

Just watched the highlights, lets be honest here I still love Perez but if we had an out and out striker with proven pedigree we would have one that game by three or four.
One simple mistake cost the game and our forward have forgotten how to score. If none of the brass cannot see the issue then Big Mike can forget about the 130 million a season. Sorry how can he not see the numbers, that’s a ton of cash to lose out on. So he has to realize spending 50 Mill now only helps out the club and the bottom line.
If we don’t get anyone in next week then it looks like another Jan with panic buying on players from second or third tier divisions. Still not convinced with SM with his little grins when we are losing games. Maybe that’s another area Big Mike needs to look at and get Penfold to start doing his job.
