I Feel Better And More Confident With Every Game

It looks like Papiss Cisse will be out for about five weeks after undergoing surgery for his groin injury and not the two months or more we initially thought he was going to be sidelined for.

So that´s some good news, but Newcastle still have to bring in a  proven striker this month since our current strike force is not good enough for the Premier League at the moment.

It´s asking a lot of our two young lads in Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez to score the goals in such a precarious position the club finds themselves in – and a new striker will help take some of the pressure off them.

French striker Manu Riviere is fit again but he may not even make the bench for Newcastle although it looks like we will keep him until the summer.

Like Remy Cabella before him, Riviere is turning out to be another poor signing for Newcastle by Graham Carr.

But Aleksandar Mitrovic is getting his confidence back after a goal and an assist on Tuesday night against the Red Devils in the 3-3 draw.

In an interview after the game Aleksandar is obviously a big Wayne Rooney fan – he  defended the England great who is one of his heroes.

It´s only because Wayne is so good that he gets so much criticism from the English press, who seem to delight in bringing down our very best players.

The 21 year-old Serbian has also said he is getting his confidence back:

“Scoring will do a lot for my confidence.” “I needed that goal – you could see that in my celebration.” “I don’t know about a new striker.”

“I am here to play and I believe I am playing well now. The goals will come.” “I feel better and more confident with every game and now I believe I will score whenever I play.”

It would be good if Mitro can add another goal to his total of four against West Ham United on Saturday,  which looks another tough game for us.

But we have to start getting some wins very soon, with other relegation threatened sides like Sunderland and Aston Villa starting to pick up some wins.

Actually I wanted Wijnaldum to take that penalty initially, when Mitrovic stepped up to take it,felt like he is going to miss. But took it calmly well and that is a a relief.
Shelvey’s other positive is that he is good at taking set pieces- corners, etc, in man utd game,
our set piece crosses were very poor. Which will now definitely will be boosted..

Our striker options are getting limited in the market. IMO Remy’s situation depend on the arrival of a new striker at Chelsea. If that doesn’t happen,I prefer Vincent Abubakar or Icardi as an alternatives.Austin will be good too but he become injury prone. That’s why no other club snapped him up yet by the looks of it..

surely a striker is a total priority to sign in this window. if nitro gets booked or injured, we only have toney an lord knows where riverie gone. if we need to spend up to 30m…then we should

See Cavani is allowed to leave. Not really the type we are looking for but hey we can atleast offer him the chance to play in the centre, if only that was the only problem in us having a chance at getting him 🙂
