The amount of use leicester city have on pace and speed could provide obatan a transfer away.

They don’t have the same passing game as the top teams but each and every game you see the players working there socks of charging into the space a ball has been hoofed towards. Even a usain bolt could be a nice signing to this team coming on as half time sub and dashing into them spaces each and every ball reach

We have actually scored more goals than Crystal Palace now !!

They should have asked him how those jackets feel.

Will they have sizes for everybody or just ones as fat as himself?

    What material was used?

Why is he giving these jackets away for free rather than sell them?

We’ve not scored as many as leicester and when it comes to neutral teams it’s leicester city’s and chelsea’s performances most NUFC bloggers are interested about.

only those still interested in parjew talk about palace

bigfat sam has scored more than ourselves

Really hope Shelvey doesn’t get a ban, wasn’t much in it although it was wrong.

We should keep our fingers crossed on Shelvey.

    Hibbitt

On Mitrovic he is playing very well now all he is missing is to score.

    Watford (A)
    Everton (A)
    West Brom (H)
    Chelsea (A)

How many points before Valentines day then lads?

Can see us doing Watford and West Brom, draw with Everon and getting beat of Chelski so 7 for me

  • 11 lukes26 // Jan 16, 2016 at 6:37 PM

id be shocked if we brought in an emergency striker. we have plenty of options that are just as good as the Austin-types out there.

id be far less shocked if we brought in someone like lacazette.

with the massive EPL tv money coming in the summer, i could see us spending big money early

  • 12 WWSBRD // Jan 16, 2016 at 6:38 PM

The free SD jackets were in such demand that they don’t have enough for all those who registered for one. So, they organised a draw for them. The winners get a jacket and the lucky losers get a £10 SD voucher!

    Whooppee, what joy 😐

isn’t it exhausting to be so miserable? we just had arguably our best team performance of the season. enjoy it

and mitro was class save for his shooting

  • 17 Hail Wor Ashley // Jan 16, 2016 at 6:45 PM

Nothing. Just people making their own drama. Not a peep from any official source that Shelvey is getting any retrospective investigation. He didn’t do anything, he nudged a guy with a shoulder to the chest in passing – woopydoo. Would have to investigate 22 players after every match the way they grapple and barge each other at set-pieces, if that was the standard.

Had a altercation with Valencia not sure if he elbowed or threw a punch

Just got in from match first twenty minutes we were brilliant should of been out of sight but for some poor finishing.
Second half – hanging on and sat back letting West Ham come on to us but still had chances to put the game out of reach.
3 stand out players Shelvey, Wiljanum and Colocinni
Mitro had a better game but he has got to start putting his chances away.
Elliot outstanding point blank save near end.
New lad Saviet looked OK and Goufran also did well when he came on.

Leicester’s game is all about hoof ball and pace in the champions league they’d struggle with lack of quality, should they make champions league next season.

    Great win for us today.

    .
    .
When Leicester city do make it into the CL next season I think it will be the having a game against real madrid or barcalona they’ll be wanting more than anything, it would be great to see the greatest players in the world coming over for a competitive match especially if that player was messi.

I think they’ve still got a good hope of getting that 3rd place finish this season because of the poor form teams such as manure and chelsea have had.

    WWSRB

if you cannot see the immense impact Mitro had on this game today, then we’re at loggerheads and no need to go further. I thought his hold-up play was world class and allowed the magnificent wijnaldim to do what he does best.

  • 22 toonking // Jan 16, 2016 at 6:49 PM

Leicester lucky not to have conceded a penalty just then, we were awarded a one for a similar move done by smalling

I didn’t see the Dummett injury, was he taken off as a precaution? If he’s out for a while we should get someone in, maybe see if Everton will loan us galloway.

There won’t be retrospective action against shelvey because the incident happened right in the line of sight from the referee.. No case here.

    I am a realist not a fantasist
Like I said they could have made it 2-2
What would u b saying mitros hold up play was world class by the way it wasn’t no most people who know football would have stated if we had a striker who could put the ball in the net a second goal for the hammers Would have been irrelevant as it would have been 4 or 5 to us
    ASH OUT
    SMAC OUT
    COLO OUT
    SHEEP like u out

Get the feeling it’ll be villa, norwich plus probably Sunderland going down.

Get a couple more players in and we should hopefully climb up to mid table.

There are definitely signs of us playing good football under McLaren. However I don’t understand his substitutions at times, we were under a bit of pressure and gouffran comes on, surely aarons or riviere would have helped us more.

    Villa score!

    Couple of points from me:
    – gini was easily the man of the match and class above the rest again. Everyone enjoy the rest of the season with him because he will move for big money in the summer.
    – been asking us to sign shelvey since cabaye left as he has all the same attributes and is top class. Was surprised when I seen people on this blog saying he will be useless and bad attitude etc..
-People saying why didn’t we sign Austin for 4 mill how do you know we didn’t contact him As it was clear he wanted to stay down south. Southampton are also much more attractive than us at the moment so what the hell makes you think he would come.. No wonder us toon fans get labelled deluded!!
    – Have not rated Krul for a good while be thought he was a decent shot stopper but awful at everything else. Elliot much the better all round keeper and that was clear from the first couple of games he played yet when I said that I got slated as if krul was 1000x better and Elliot was awful.
-colo, shelvey the other two stand outs with Mbemba (if you discount his mistake) Perez, jaanmat and sissokho all having a big impact.
    – mitro far to raw and we need someone who can compose himself and finish to drive us up the table.

Toon terrific first half, Dummett going off was not good as Colback who did ok at left back apart from the fact he’s not the quickest and got caught a few times, Saivet did nowt to be fair and we got overrun at times.very good win though.

  • 46 matt11_25 // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:19 PM

Matty .. Naturally I’m with u… Mitro was class. Needs a little more confidence and he’ll be banging em in. It was sissoko who had a shocker. That chest pass put sissoko thru for an easy goal. Socks decision making is so poor after some good work every time. Why can’t he weight that ball to wij on the floor instead of smashing a bouncer at him when he is ten feet away. For mitro he didn’t have a chance to attack any good crosses today (sissoko poor) and once he does watch his confidence soar.

  • 49 Nufc-83 // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:24 PM

One thing I did get wrong is dummet. I’m starting to really like him and how solid he is defensively. He is also the 4th fastest player in the prem if you look at top speeds reached and he was top of that chart in this game again (can you believe that). There is obviously a difference between sprint speed and acceleration (as in Fifa lol) and I don’t think he has great acceleration to beat a man and create space. He needs to work everyday on crossing and just be like beckham in that when he gets the ball no need to beat anyone just wrap his foot around it.

Just back in from the match.

I totally understand why people have voted Shelvey for motd. A great debut and 2 amazing passes for both goals.

But winaldum was a sight to behold. All the talk before the game was that payet would be to hot to handle for us. Winaldum gave him a lesson on how to play today. Absolutely amazing player, top drawer.

    What a brilliant game.

Winaldum, Shelvey, janmaat, colo, mbemba (apart from back pass) were all great. Mitrovic’s hold up play was great but he was woeful in front of goal. Desperately need a striker.

If Remy were in this team today we’d have won 4-1.

  • 52 Harley // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:28 PM

  • 53 angelswithdirtyfaces // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:28 PM

Mitro might never get to Wor Jackie, Supermac or Shearer level, but if he stays he has the capability of reaching the next level – and be a 15 goal a season man with as many assists.
He is so close – and game like today where his workrate was faultless and his team play excellent has got to help his confidence

  • 54 mattyNUFC // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:28 PM

    matt

i agree about sissoko but would hate to think our club is competent enough to replace him. I used to call for him to be a CM, but he’s too erratic to be a proper PL standard CM. RW/LW is where he belongs. And for all the negative with him, the times he shines outweigh the times he ghosts. and if our solution were to be replacing him with similar ilk as cabella/thauvin, by god keep him

not even disappointed with dummet today (though we need an upgrade badly). the whole team was superd

  • 55 toonking // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:28 PM

    catchy
That drop i form ou mentioned earlier seems to be continuing, they still sitting top of the table but those two penalties that were missed by marez has cost them 4 points so he’ll be unconfident and vardy himself doesn’t seem to be finding those goals so all in all it’s down to how the defense does.

Overall i’m still loving this team and is certainly worthy of have chats about.

Nearly that what I am saying a top team will offer mega bucks for him and I don’t believe he will be here next season.

As for Austin I think it’s pretty obvious he wanted to stay close to home + the key point is why would he choose us over Southampton at the moment?? It’s clear he wouldn’t!!!

  • 59 Harley // Jan 16, 2016 at 7:43 PM

Cant see how sissoko and Townsend can play in the first team together so if we get Townsend I think it will only be after the deal has been done to sell Sissoko.

Saivet will need a few more games to get going but I’m sure he’ll come good.

I think the team will look something like this in a couple of weeks time

    Elliot

    Janmaat Mbemba Colo Colback

    Townsend Shelvey Winjy Saivet Perez

    Mitrovic

My only wish now is a left back because Colback will be very useful when rotating the squad, and a CB to get Colo out of the defensive line up would be great…I don’t think we need a striker as much as people say…Mitrovic, Rivi and Perez can deliver between them and we’ll have Arma back next year

Mbabu if he stays could play left or right back but in certain games I can see Mbabu playing right back and Janmaat right wing…he’s got great delivery and can be very instrumental in games.

We’re starting to get a good squad together now but we all have to remember fat man never spends big without selling very shortly afterwards.

  • 62 lochinvar // Jan 16, 2016 at 8:15 PM

Mitro is a sleeping giant – he’s just a little tense – not joking – in tennis terms he’s tightened up with all the physical effort that goes into each game. Skiers are just the same – muscles too taught and it takes an edge of performance – when he starts scoring and relaxes a touch he will go onto even greater things and more goals…. if he gets a little more space and can run onto moving passes ( from Shelvet etc ) then boom – we’re in for better times …

  • 63 beefman13 // Jan 17, 2016 at 1:14 AM
