An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

catchy
Certainly dropped down the form table but they have had an away game against liverpool and a home game against city, had they could of had a win against bournemouth had they not missed that penalty but all in all they still doing astonishing from a neutral’s point of view and should be good enough to get that 4th place even if they don’t win the title

Comment #2Mitrovic was immense, his hold up play was superb and showed maturity beyond his years. Never underestimate what a cf that has the ball stick to his boots when it’s played into him does for the team. His work rate was fantastic. Can’t believe some in here were giving him grief for missing a couple of chances. Once he starts putting them away he’ll be different class.
Thought Shelvey was unreal for 60 minutes, Saivet looked very good when he came in apart from the one time he got caught in possession. How bloody good was Gini though? Might have a new idol there if he can replicate more consistently.

Comment #3GINI – pure class – 10 and MOTM
Shelvy – immense – 9
Eliot – 9
All the players were up for it though. Not sure what’s going on with Mitro but if he brings that type of hold up play everygame, he’ll be just fine with four goalscoring midfielders behind him

Comment #4Gini was by far hands down MOTM
He was star quality.
Colo had a great game, Mbemba had a good game if you remove that 1 error, still he picked himself up and carried on with composure, players in the past would crumble.
Shelvey was amazing first half, average second half.
Elliot, no doubt unsung hero again, 2 solid saves that were needed.
Janmaat had a great game.
Mitrovic was excellent, if he could just finish he would be a star. His hold up and link play is really strong. I think he lacks confidence in front of goal, or at least I hope it is just that and he is not a donkey. Its almost like he is scared to have a shot at times.
Overall strong game from all, but MOTM is easy. Wijnadlum.
He makes Cabaye look average, I doubt he will be here in a couple of years time.

hopefully that’s the Gini that we see from now on; being played in the whole with intelligent players around him. it’d be a far stretch to call tiote intelligent

Comment #9First half was brilliant. If they keep playing like that there is NO CHANCE Newcastle will go down.
Shelvey brought some passing skills that we have not seen since Cabaye left. Very encouraging!
Three things that were evident from today’s performance that must be sorted in order for the club to perform better:
1. Left Winger Needed
As much as I like Perez, he offers very little on the wing. He doesn’t have the pace to get pass opponents, nor offer any crosses.
2. Left Back Needed
The left side is our weakest link. Dummet is good defensively but his passing and offensive skills are poor. In the modern game you need to be good a both. No attacking threats or support in attack from Dummet.
3. A Lethal Finisher Needed
Mitrovic’s hold up play today was excellent. But still lacks that lethal finishing you’d expect from a no.9. He is still young and will improve. But we need one that can take most of the burden now and score.
I think Michy Batshuayi of Marseille will be a superb signing. He is strong and offers great pace too. We could even pair the two in a 4-4-2 system. They would complement each other well, I think.

Comment #11Wayayman – I agree Mitrovic is fantastic at hold-up play and offers a lot to our game. But you do realise that your argument is erring dangerously close to what can only be described as the ‘Heskey-justification’?

Comment #12We should get Ashley Cole for the remainder of season on a free. The get Guerreiro in the summer.
We should have signed Austin for 4m I mean FFS BARGAIN!
We should try get Matip signed up now, hes on a free at end of the season.
I would take all of the above for a fraction of the quoted Townsend prices. He is so over rated. I just think he is average, if that.

When you look at how poor chelsea have been this seaon they’ll be planning a big spend in the summer and when you look how well wini stands out from the rest it could see chelsea doing everything to get him, he’s scored 9 goals already so if he were to be playing amoungst the bigger teams he’d be in double figures.
Chelsea might be at risk of losing hazard himself and if so wini could be a good choice to replace him.

Comment #15wiji was clearly man of the match, but shelvey will take the headlines (he was also excellent- hope he doesn’t get in trouble for that off the ball incident)
Thought Mitro and Perez were also fantastic
I think we need another defender (Bryam?). seriously, if janmaat got injured, who would replace him?

Comment #16@pawl – the Austin signing took the whole of the premiership by surprise. Fairly sure a lot more teams would have been interested but the first anybody heard about the offer was when there was a picture of him signing the contract on Southampton’s Twitter feed. Besides, as has been pointed out, he really didn’t want to move north. We were probably last choice on his list of potential suitors.

they’ve just been close to going a goal down now but a decent save was made and other players got back in time to prevent the second chance.

Heskey adapted his game into his 30s. Mitro is still only 20 or something. He hasn’t started every game but 4 out of 5 games he plays he’s immense. Let’s give him the time to score the goals i think everyone knows he’s capable of scoring. but your point is valid– he needs to start adding them to his game soon

Comment #19just say it how it is if West ham had of made it 2-2 u would have panned mitro who cares if he is 21 Owen Rooney etc were younger but could hit the target he is pance and u know it the only player who has kept nufc off the bottom is Gini who could become a top class player
Nufc need a striker asap if they get one relegation should b avoided quite comfortably

Completely agree. He’s been sublime the past two or three games. It’ll take crazy money to sign him though. He comes off as a highly honest bloke, so I doubt he’d ever force anything

Comment #30Mitro did have a 3-4 shots on goals. That one chance looked destined for the bottom right hand corner, but somehow Adrian saved it. Mitro’s fine for me, works very hard for the team.. I get the sense that defenses would prefer defending someone else

Comment #34My MOTM was Shelvey because he made all the difference with his passing and calm presence. He made the team tick. As others have said, he is the missing link that we have needed for far too long.
I thought Gini and Colo were outstanding.
I was also impressed with Colback at left back and wonder whether he is a better bet than Dummitt.
I’m now confident that we will beat Watford.

Comment #35Some of our play in that first half was unreal that was like watching a Robson or Keegan team with the pace and work rate and slick passing
Our finishing though needs to improve Mitrovic and Sissoko being the main offenders should have been out of sight which our play deserved !
If we can start home games like that I think we could dish out a few beastings before the season ends if we can get the finishing sorted
Wish we were playing the Mackems next week at home!!!
