Can Newcastle Make It Two Wins In A Row At Watford?

Every single one of our 16 league games remaining this season will be important and none more so than at Watford on Saturday.

watford FC

Swansea got a crucial 3 points against the Hornets on Monday night at the Liberty Stadium to put them one point above us in the league table and surely if we can play like we did against West Ham last Saturday and cut out the mistakes at the back, a win is possible?

Let us know how you think this game will go.

I’m angry at Tiote’s greediness as that would free up more funds, but really after those first 25 mins on Saturday what do we really have to significantly change that much.

Surely you don’t want / need to drop any of that front 6 of sissoko, wijni, perez , mitro, shelvey, saviet. We have Aarons etc waiting in the wings.

Now we have shelvey as a creative playmaker if we are buying more people then a LB like Guerreiro and Koubilaly (CB) and a fast goalscorer like a Remy are priorities, not a vastly over priced Townsend to replace another
vastly over priced player in Thauvin.

I’ve a feeling that the Shelvey effect plus Watford’s dire form at present will get us home there.

Completely agree. It should be based on ability and performance. I can’t see Townsend agreeing to that as he is no better than our starting 11 so would be swapping not playing at Spurs for the bench here. Won’t help his England demands.

Berahino could be more willing to fight for his place. I can only see him really being a starter out wide unless Mitro is unavailable or we change formation.

love to see us build on the west ham performance, watford are very pacey upfront but thts about it, ighalo has kept them going this season, and he’s the one player we have struggled to deal with but if we can stop hhim from making an impact then 3 points should be on the cards

as frustrating as this is we should just walk away from townsend and bera they are not exactly guarenteed to improve us and for the money of those 2 we would be safer with enrique and crouch 😉

arma will be back next season also and we allready have 2 young lads in mitro/perez so bera would imo be a 4th to push arma and perez out.

Lb and CB is a no brainer rotonda but they are missing one vital thing on the board of nufc…………………common sense.

Will bbe nice to have extra depth in the squad, especially given our injury ability. But both townsend and Berahino are wanting to leave to get game time and I cant see either being in our first choice 11, certianly not both at the same time.

If we dont get them then i dont think anyone will be hugely disappointed. Ok as squad depth but not the end of the world if we dont get them.

Townsends stats are actually pretty misleading.
He had 6 goals and 6 assists in 2000 minutes last season which is the equivalent to 22 games.
That for a young English international has to be worth the risk.
The lads never had a proper run of games we should give him a chance especially with the euros around the corner he’ll be busting a gut

wouldn’t be disappointed at all. spending for spending’s sake on townsend and bera is not the answer.

bera would be a different type to mitro as he can get in behind but do we need the circus that comes with him. someone like berahino who isn’t berahino would be great. there must be some rapid fleet footed goal scorer for reasonable money out there somewhere.

As for Berahino I think he would be our best natural finisher since Shearer he’s got unbelievable potential with pace and dribbling too.

Also don’t be fooled by his stats this season Pulis plays hoof ball and it doesn’t fit Berahino’s style of play at all WBA swing endless balls into the box for a target man… its suits ours perfectly

I thought we bossed them in the FA Cup game (although we did ultimately lose) and our game has picked up since then. Their form seems to be going the other way, so I expect a win! Huge game this. A win will hopefully start pulling us away from the bottom with a few tough games coming up.

Tiote’s coming back? Aw well. Would’ve liked to have got rid but if he’s blocking the Townsend deal, good. Better to have a player who we know what he’s capable of rathet than an overpriced, unfit Spurs reject.

I’ll go for an ugly 1-0 win on Saturday.

    @9 rotonda

seriously though bera scores just a smidge over 1 in 4 so he aint all that great even those he’s hyped up to high heaven !

and even though i personally do like townsend and i know theres rightfully some debate on him ! for a player i just can not see being a concrete starter and more of a squad player because of the players we have and the formation we tend to play it seems like a hell of a lot of money.

a lot of fans have given up on thauvin and want him out also but is that wise after such a short time and with glimpses of what he can do ? i’m not a huge fan but even i feel sorry for him being boo’d and slated as much as he is without having done much wrong and not really given a chance.

croftus – not saying Thauvin was given a proper chance – he wasn’t.
But when the going gets tough the tough get going.
Thauvin ran to hide rather than standing up and fighting.
    Not what we want.

I’ve been critical of Thauvin from Day 1.. And while I’ve been desperate for the lad to prove me wrong, he has done nothing apart from validate my claim that’s he’s one of the worst ever to pull on the Black and White Stripes.
People vehemently disagreed and said it was too soon, the jury is still out, the kid is talented and I was being harsh on him… But from what I’ve seen, he’s nothing but a prima Donna who isn’t fit for this league.
Yea, maybe the fan’s turning on him in the stadium was a bit much, but what does he do? Instead of trying to suck it up and improve his performance, he whines that he wants away. Stupid lil bitch!!! And this kinda fcuk is supposed to help us in a relegation dogfight!!! Yea rite!!!
Good riddance, if he does go away, and hope to never have to see him representing The Toon ever again!!

Rant over… Im calm again 🙂
