26 year-old Corinthians and former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato will be arriving at Chelsea this week and that will see Loic Remy fall even further down the totem pole at the south London club.
Loic Remy is very keen to play first team football thorough the rest of the season, so he has some hope of making the French squad for the Euro 2016 finals to be played in France in June – and he will not get that at Chelsea.
Loic Remy – when on loan at Newcastle
With Pato´s arrival it´s almost certain that Loic Remy will be made available by new manager Guus Hiddink Remy but Newcastle at the moment are trying to sign West Brom striker Loic Remy.
Newcastle do have a plan B if they cannot get Berahino in the next couple of days and we have to believe that could be to go all-out to get Loic in on loan, because he´s a proven Premier League goalscorer and would settle very quickly at Newcastle.
While on loan during the 2013-2014 season for us he scored 14 league goals in 26 Premier League appearances for the side – a good record.
However, his history with Newcastle is not all that great and he turned us down for bottom-placed QPR three years ago when we were again in relegation trouble.
Loic also turned Newcastle down at the end of his loan spell on Tyneside because he wanted to sign for a bigger club playing in the Champions League.
He failed a medical in Boston so didn´t join Liverpool, but he then signed on at Chelsea very late in the 2014 summer transfer window – but has not played much for the Blues and has never been a regular first team starter.
He could do a good job for us this season and he´s a better option than signing 30 year-old Bafe Gomis for £7M from Swansea.
Why not keep the £7M for the new striker who will be coming in permanently over the summer and go all out to get Loic in for a relatively small loan fee.
What do you think?

A short term plan B is god, Remy to the left of the front 3 would be a good option to have and give us back up for Mitro as and when required.

Who knows bud. I personally thought we were entrenched in the French market or constantly looking in the bargain basement.
If we were to land Bera for 18-20 mill after Shelvey at 12. Would you say that is a definite shift in transfer policies we have adopted for so many seasons ?

I was dreaming a little yesterday and thinking about if we got Remy and Berihinio.
A front 3 Remy Mitro Berihinio, liked the thought of that but struggled to put 3 behind them who’d cope.
It’d be nice to have that headache though

Comment #27Jail, either Austin didnt fancy the north east, or we were badly wrong footed. Given that we have been limked with him for ages, and neither party cooled the link, i think we were wrong footed. I dont think our MD is the problem at Newcastle as such, but I think he was wrong footed here. Its a steal for Southampton and if he stays fit he will score a hatful. The guys on here who scoffed at his suitability will look a bit daft then. Anyoine who scored 18 goals for QPR has to be looked at seriously. I dont care if he isnt tall enough.fast enough or doesnt suit the daft FIFA typoe teams that guys dream about on here – if he bags 18 goals he is good. But then , many of our fans would refuse Mickey Quinn now because he wasnt athletic enough for goodness sake.

Chelsea are reigning champions and consistently fight for the title let’s not underestimate one of the best teams in the league
My point was more Chelsea are a very unique club. Also Remy has proven he can do it in the prem whereas Roma mustn’t of though Doumbia could make it in theirs

You remember Mitchu?
Why wasn’t there a massive fight for his signature, there’s plenty of other teams who need a foward as much or more than us.
The only people shouting for Austin to go to a Pl club where pundits and papers, we all know they know SFA.

Yes and no, it would definitely suggest a change as Shelvey was the first British player with PL experience we have paid a fee for over five years, personally I think the Beranhio thing is another smokescreen fiasco. It would definitely show that there hasn’t been a change if Remy or Ba were available for reaso anle fees and wages and we did buy Berahino simply because he fits our profile. Our buy with sell on has largely been a failure up to now and is too rigid.
