Saido Berahino may still end up at Newcastle in the summer and at the end of the transfer window last night he sent out a rather strange tweet – but maybe it´s just a sign he is maturing.
Saido is a good player and it seems Newcastle will be going after a top striker in the summer if we survive in the Premier League.
It seems to us Saido would be a great signing for us.
Everyone waiting once again for the silly little spoilt boy to make same mistake so here you go.
Goodnight all and thanks for the support??— Saido Berahino (@SBerahino) February 1, 2016

This is a good resource
It shows highlights of all the games in the major leagues in the world
The tabs at the top are self explanatory and it has a good search facility

Repost:
I think the general consensus of opinion is people are pleased with the signings but think we needed a defender in particular a left back. I agree with this but to be fair to the club they did try with the 2 that got away and Enrique. Apparently we only offered a contract until the end of the season whereas Enrique wanted longer. Although disappointing sensible I would say other we would have been stuck with an older injury prone player on high wages and we’ve got enough of them already 🙂
With the recruitment of CM players we can use Colback at LB -not ideal but he did play there for the makems!

Comment #12Barton & YouCouldn’tMakeItUp -I’m quite hopeful about the Everton game – they’ve had a couple of hard games since we last played and we’ve got our new attackers – our pace up front could be scarey with Sisssoko, Wjynaldum, Townsend and Doumbia!

Comment #13I wonder what he deems ‘mistake’ to mean?
To sit out while not in favour until contract runs down? To possibly join us near the bottom of the table? Something else? Is he having a go at the pundits, the manager?

Comment #15That tweet was weird, because the grammar just didnt make sense. What is he saying?
Its the ‘so here you go’ bit that i dont understand. What ‘so here you go’ ??
Look at me making a fool of myself?
Look at me about to sign for another club?
Look at me sitting on the bench for another 6 months?
Does anyone actually know what he means?

Comment #17Bit of a cryptic tweet but I assume he’s trying to say he’s once again refusing to play for them like he done at the end of the last window? Can’t wait for the daily berainho articles on here for the next 6 month in place of the Charlie Austin ones

Comment #18I don’t think you can argue that the club has changed AND that McClaren is safe as houses.
Ashley has shown he is prepared to spend the club’s money to get out of trouble. We’ve got in everyone who would come.
I read it as simple maths. We’ve spend around £25m in a winter window to avoid losing £150m in income in the summer. Ashley will recoup some of that through a fire sale if the gamble fails. He’ll take a hit for sure, but it will have been a sound gamble.
I don’t think a club that was prepared to pay £21m for Berahino will sweat too much on the cost of paying off McClaren if he continues to fail.
I think he’s got five games.

Comment #19Haven’t said a thing about Berahino but but I will mention that I watched him play in a cup tie against lower league opposition some time back, I recall he scored one and didn’t celebrate at all, just trotted back like they didn’t deserve him, and I just thought what a Grade A Tool he was.

Comment #24Just watching Doumbia taking pens, i love his technique. Stuttering run up and then you literally have no idea which way the ball is going. must be a nightmare for keepers.
In his general play He reminds me of a little jack terrier, yapping around the penalty box. I really hope he sticks a few in and becomes a problem for opposition defences. He looks like an unpredictable forward which can only be a good thing. Him playing off mitrovic strength and presence could be a good match up.
do we think he’ll start tomorrow?

Comment #25Nobody seems to mention that some of our rivals to avoid the drop have also spent big money. It’s not so much about how much you spend but how wisely you spend it. Other clubs could have spent half what we have, but if, unlike us, they’ve strengthened in all the places they were weak, we’ve fallen behind.
I think it was Wayayman who said Austin was never coming and gave a number of reasons about his various south coast connections. However, he added at the end that Southampton had offered him far more in wages than we would. The one crucial factor IMO. Of course, Southampton could afford to pay high wages because they weren’t paying a £15m fee. If you capitalise the wages of players like Austin, what would the net spend table look like?

I agree on Steeve and said as much yesterday. Hes been backed, they look like his players not Carrs. If there’s not a significant turn around I think he’ll get the bullet after 5 games.
Never thought I’d say that but I can’t see Ashley taking excuses after this window, maybe wrong but I think he’ll demand results now.

Comment #27well…villa seem to have given up the ghost !
no signings and a very very upset manager who wants out !
we need to add very little next season to have a real good go at the top half imo a decent cb and a lb if all goes well.

Maybe because no ones bothered about Swansea loaning Leroy Fer or Naismith to Norwich.
You also failed to mention the weakening all of our rivals also did, Fletcher Shrelvey blah blah blah.

Agree with you mate. Doumbia certainly does seem to be a handful. Seen him a bit before in the CL. I’m pretty excited to see him play for us. Hopefully he does play tomorrow. I think he’ll fit right in and have a cracking partnership with Mitro

I think we had £50m to spend this winter, and we couldn’t spend it!
We’ve caught every fish we could in that tiny pond we fish in.
My guess is that Ash would sleep better if we’d got more done, though he put these brakes on and can’t really complain if the mechanism proved a bit rusty when it needed to crank at 100 per cent.

Comment #32Surely in the summer we simply must focus on getting a defence built.
Even if Taylor comes good once again and plays a few blinders, his time as a Newcastle player, along with Colo and a few others has to be up. We’ve gotten rid of Willo finally, now to start planning for May.

Townsend will def start with Mitro up front, at around 65mins or when Everton tire Doumbia and Perez to really stretch them.
I fancy a win, Everton are there for the taking. I said the same about Watford until Steeves formation blew it.
I’ll be dissapointed with anything less than a point.

Comment #34If Doumbia turns out to be the goal scoring beast we need, we might survive. I don’t know about him so can’t comment until I’ve seen him play.
Leaving him aside, we’ve added to midfield, where we are strongest, and neglected defence, where we are shit.
It leaves me in the 9%. £80m spent and still far from confident that we’ll survive.

Comment #35remy garde must be sick he chose villa when he sees our spending. carver seemed to be aware we’d spend big way before the summer which makes me think pardew must have also known. the only downer is we could have attracted a top manager by telling him he had 100m or more to spend.

Comment #36Randy Lerner “only” paid £62.5 million for Villa and wants £200 million for it.
He’s not prepared to put any more money into it because when he did the fans just twisted and complained it was never enough (remind you of anyone Blackley)
Unfortunately for Remi Garde it looks like he’s been stitched up.

Comment #37Fletcher going to marseilles is crazy for Sunderland. They lost wickham, theyve now lost fletcher who was on good form in patches last couple of years. Every one knows Defoe has injury problems from time to time. If he breaks down in the coming weeks then i think that really leaves them in trouble.
Khazri coming in , he’s a midfielder.
Trouble is sunderland seem to be able to pull together at the right moments, they have pulled some great results out of the bag at times.
I think we have no excuse not to vacate the relegation zone now. I think it could be swansea that fills that place if it isnt us. Because theyve got lowered morale, theyve lost shelvey to us, they only got fer in on loan i think (hardly a convincing PL performer in recent years). Plus a newbie manager.
I think norwich could pull away with bournmouth. norwich arent bad, they have a decent manager, and some good players. Bournemouth too, they have a great team spirit and zero expectations in their maiden PL season.

agree.
i’m glad bera did not come or any other striker tbh as that would mean arma did not get his chance next season and tbh i value arma as just as good if not better than bera.
cb wise theres only mbemba i’m 100% about
dummett i would be happy ish with.
lescalles i dont think will make it as he’s on par with willo imo.
mbabu is one player i would use as lb/rb or cb as i rate him very highly.
satka if he makes the grade will not be ready for a long time yet.
and saylor is too inconsistant for my liking.

Comment #40People who are saying he was rubbish at roma there seems to be quite a few reasons why it didn’t work out for him there a Italian reporter on 5 live last night was saying the fans hated him and he hated garcia which alludes to him not getting played in the right position
plus she said roma fans are delusional over where they actually are and they get on the back of there strikers very quickly.
plus add to the fact Italian football is the opposite of English football then there is quite a few reasons why it didn’t work out
