Alan Shearer Reacts To Awful Newcastle

Alan Shearer had it right when he said Newcastle were awful and it was good job Rob Elliot made some good saves for us.

Alan says they were awful tonight – he could just as easily used shocking, disgraceful, insipid, terrible, pathetic – all would have described tonight’s performance – and how much has Mike Ashley paid out for players since last season?

If Mike Ashley wants to have a Premier League club next season he needs to make some decisions – soon – on Steve McClaren – he’s just not good enough and has shown that all season.

That’s the truth.

hmmmm our last 2 saviours were jfk and carver!
just think about that for a minute and then ask for us to change manager again!

tang he’s in the same position so no for me he goes missing away so does sisko

and for me mitro again misses an absolute sitter he should be in double figures by now but i do feel sorry for him all that pressure on a 21 y/o in a new country and new league is ridiculous
and wat will take us down!

That was depressing. Very little fight, very little tactics, very little class. On the up side, to stay up we need to win at the BARE minimum 6. I see 7 winnable matches.

    West Brom (H), Bournemouth (H), Sunderland (H), Norwich (A), Swansea (H), Palace (H), Villa (A).

If we dont get a response and win against West Brom then i’m gonna prepare myself emotionally for relegation.

For the first time ever I will be ignoring the match on sat. I will be doing up my house in Wallsend with no radio on……if we do play well you are welcome to pop round and join me in a painting beer whilst laughing at me
I do not expect to win and I can’t keep ruining weekends on it. Fingers crossed I am wrong

It’s funny if you believe in karma. Ash, Carr, Charnley, SM, wonga, the whole package really.

A bunch of disparate and under qualified individuals panicked desperately in the transfer window yet still didn’t address the right areas of concern.

If we go down it will be a hollow moral triumph over a despicable owner who entrusted part of his empire to cronies and familiars not in possession of the requisite ability, acumen and intellectual wherewithall to facilitate such an undertaking.

I too am sad but also angry.

There’s 2 hrs of my life i wont get back. Pardew did better than macca. People want to blame carr now. The fact is, it’s only ever been one persons fault. Mashley. He owns the club. Runs it badly. He is an awful cu*t. We will be in league 1 in 2 years time because of this fat b@stard.

Wow – what insight, what vision, what crap

Newcastle manager Steve McClaren: “In the first half you could see that the Everton players and supporters were nervous, we didn’t take advantage of that, we weren’t aggressive enough.

“In the second half we had a go but it wasn’t enough. Too many players were below par. We can’t play like that in front of 52,000 fans on Saturday, we need a reaction, we have to do better than that.”

In our defence,we dont have one do we.
Townsend looks like the fast running bald french guy who we already have on the payroll forgot his name already.
Mac looked well pissed at the closing stages.Think he realises he is not getting the job done.

And,if anyone wants to disagree, then by the rules of this blog and its one sidedness, they are stupid degenerates. You reap what you sow. Either have a boring manager who has poor runs, but keeps you up. Or a manager who wants to attack but has no clue and gets you relegated. The evidence is clear.

The efforts of Messrs Pardew and Carr mean two things for the fans.

The first is that we now have to lose eight games on the trot before it clicks we are a teeny weeny bit out of form.
The other is that we assume it will be all right, and we’ll escape in the nick of time, like we always do.

Mark…Ashley is bad owner no doubt but it’s just simplifying a bigger issue by saying it’s all down to that.

I agree he hires poor personal, but you need to look at the decisions they make and the job they are doing. It’s not like they cannot fart without asking Ashley!

It’s only when there’s nights like this that you realise how many not very knowledgeable folk post on here.

I could list some of the regular posters and highlight their lack of footy nous but what would be the point.

We were playing away against a top half team that has had a dip in form and had something to prove to their fans.

We had players on the pitch , one has never played for us before and 2 others just signed this window.

Their first goal was fortuitous rather than well worked .

We were still in it for a point until the 88th minute.

We conceded the killer goals chasing a draw.

There are still 42 points to play for

if we don’t beat west brom, and if Norwich beat villa (could easily happen), then that would basically be it.

we will likely lose to chelsea after that, then don’t play for 2 weeks; we could be 10 points from safety.

I genuinely want Mclaren to consider his position; he said it himself, he has NO excuse now

Most folk realised we needed defenders bought, but the nobs running the club did,nt.So the problem that has been clear to see for years is not resolved.
Ashley puts these nobs in charge of the club so he is to blame for the shambles we have at NUFC.

Sorry lads I missed the interviews after the game, were we terrific again or has he finally admitted we were crap? Had abit of a go towards the 75 minute mark but could have easily been 5 or 6 if it wernt for Elliot. This policy of replacing good players with other teams trash really isn’t working, townsend can go straight in the red bin down the park. And shelvey while not as bad is definitely not a cabaye or anywhere near. We barely even got the ball in the box today it was shocking… And was just thinking on deadline day what happens if mbemba gets injured… Guess I get to find out now! Mcclaren needs to go asap!

Good point Jesper because if Mbembeis now out for a few matches & if Dummett is back injured again, with Lascelles suspended for three games. We will only have three fit defenders available one of whom is sick note Saylor. So it will have to be three at the back & go gung ho attack. Play Winaldrum,Doumbia & Perez up top With Midfield of Townsend,Saivet, Shelvey & Sissoko.
Subs Mitro,Gouffran, Tiote (if available) & any defenders from our youth set up.
It was inevitable that we would get MORE injuries & suspensions after window shut. Just have to hope Saylor last 90 mins & Colback,Anita & Mbabu are back very soon. Relegation places now down to two from three, Canaries Mackems & Us with Villa already goners

I really want to like mitrovic, but my god, that miss when it was still 1-0. This has happened way too many times this season, and has probably cost us around 4 points alone.

He’s just not good enough as a sole striker.

Oh, and perez is not a striker either (he’s a very good box to box midfielder, but he simply cannot command the box itself).

I would play perez with doumbia on saturday

And youcouldn’tmakeitup – don’t forget king colo! He’s played his part in trying to take us down several times too… In fact the only time I remember us keeping 3 straight clean sheets was when he was out of the side and we had Willo & m’biwa…

Sounds like Shearer wants the job of taking us down again.
Don’t turn on Cashley again now. He knows nowt about football. He stumped up the money & McLaren, Carr & chairman failed to prioritise and spent it unwisely on midfielders. That coupled with our horrendous constant injury record is why we are where we are. Win against WBA an absolute must!
