    Manxpie

What more do you want mate? You got the British that you wanted and requested for. Face facts modern British managers are shite.

Biggest mistake today was taking off saivet who did better than both Shelvey and Sissoko. He was itching to get Townsend on the right and in doing so gifted the game to Everton in that 2nd half!!

In all seriousness though, I was expecting nothing from the game and got exactly that. The most important thing the game showed is that both Shelvey and Sissoko can’t play the holding role and are no good as protection for the back 4.

Mitro missed 1 very good chance but they could have had 7 or 8 we were that bad

Like David Moyes is the answer!

Bambams March & April big months. You think it could go to last match of the season Home to Spurs. I think ironically we could be relegated the week before Away at Villa. Ring any bells?
Apparently according to Steve Ryder if we don’t win Saturday David Moyes in waiting to take over. Boring football but grinds out results or he did at Everton.

I came here to read what fans thought, though I could have gone to Twitter if I was interested.

Gotta say with our defence leaking goals regular it’s gonna be very hard to get out the mess we’re in.Add to that the total lack of goals and consistency,it all spells disaster.

Praising pards but having a go at the frenchies buddy. Throughout most of the window until it was pointed out to you, then you slightly altered tact.

In all honesty I think McClaren needs to go. I’ve had a dig at young Shelvey tonight but he needs to show he has the fight. Swansea have really kicked on since he left, poor team performance but baffling changes by Schteve

That would be an actual scoop.
    From Lee.
Can’t think why he would tweet it.

  • 19 VanToonMan // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:12 PM

What I don’t understand is – he should have started Mitro whilst he rightly had Townsend on left and Sissoko on right – but instead – away from home he starts Perez (which means the ball doesnt stick when played up top) AND

then when he finally gets Mitro on and you think some crosses are going to be put in for him to head – he SWITCHES the wingers so that they are then going to be more inclined to cut in and not to go to the byline and cross with their strong foot.

    How ILLOGICAL is that?!

I actually think Lascelles (apart from the Red) was decent – strong and he played the ball out of defence – if Mac had started with him and Mbemba from the start of the season they may have been decently solid by now!

Colo’s backing off time and time again and allowing the shot is unforgiveable whether or not he was at fault for any goal today.

  • 20 West Lancs Geordie // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:14 PM

This blog has now turned on McClaren who we all know shouldn’t have got the job in the first place but nobody else wanted it. You can band around all the big names under the sun but nobody will come to work under Ashley. Things may be different now however now he has splashed the cash. Thing is we are still stuck with a dodgy chairman an old scout & a clueless manager with the man with the cash knowing nowt about football. No Moyes isn’t the answer (another Man U reject. )
We are not going to resolve this problem without getting most of the injured players plying again and time is fast running out.

I didn’t stick up for mitro ahahaha. Let’s not be childish now, just because I picked up on the foreign issue you keep debating….especially those pesky frenchies doesn’t mean you have to make things up.

I’ll repeat mitro missed a very good chance but they could have had 7 or 8 we were that bad. If that’s a lie or you disagree, would you say otherwise?

  • 22 manxpie // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:15 PM

    February 3, 2016
Agreed saivet did alit better than Watford today and probably our best midfielder, was mad bringing him off, especially as townsend did nothing all game and the same for sissoko… Sissoko’s awful on the wing I don’t see what he brings there can’t dribble can’t shoot can’t cross, so neither as a traditional winger or a wide forward is he any use whatsoever… Need to have him tiote and saivet in a midfield three and try to cover this defence abit, alternate Perez and wiji either side of doumbia/cisse

P.s for god’s sake not bloody Moyes!

  • 26 HarriboNo9 // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:18 PM

Steve McClaren 25/1 on the sack race to be next prem manager sacked! that is unbelievable odds and really confirming there is no way Ashley is sacking him, bookies normally dont get things that wrong and have inside information

Anyone taking a punt on those odds ?

  • 28 Mister Tuff // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:19 PM

Moyes – please no – another poor manager.
Wally Blusterman cannot cut the mustard all his promises etc will not transform the team.
Danger is of course if they sack him it will be another knacker.
Is Wally pulling rank over Cathro/Simpson -do they have input – is Wally ignoring it -what is the advice.
Regardless they’ve conspired to cock things up since the summer.
    Blusterman has to go.
With Townsend not playing for a while I’d nearly forgot why I didn’t want him in the first place – but backed him – he has reminded me of why I didnt want him – he is poor – he is no dynamic wingman.
Young Aarons – too much hype about him – another not good enough.
There were others who deserve no credit- Everton were crap and still beat us.

  • 29 manxpie // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:19 PM

even pardew got us in the top half on quite a few occasions
but best not say that on here because he had the best squad ever and all that
half the french squad infact at 1 point forgetting the fact that it was the worst french team in a long long time
but hey that was his fault too

too little far far far far to late

  • 31 Newcastle for alltid // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:22 PM

I didn`t expect points today. I see Everton as a better side, with far superior vision and tactics. The same can be said about most other teams in the Premier League now – which is why Newcastle is battling relegation.

Still, I expected to see some guts and exciting play. But the game was ridiculously bad. I didn`t see any will to have a go at them. We never caught them out of balance.
Selections, substitutes, tactics, it was all poor today – from the managers side. Add in that the team itself is playing in low gear, and you have a recipe for disaster.
A little list of what went wrong:
    – Trying to cross the ball towards Pèrez and Wijnaldum when they were playing against Jagielka and Funes Mori.
    – Playing Aarons at LB (seriously, what in the world is he thinking)
    – Not bringing Doumbia on. He`s already scored lots of goals this season on a high level, and is statistically VERY prolific. We need goals!
    – Mitrovic keeps missing the 100% chances. He needs to get some composure and start scoring. Otherwise, he`s just frustrating and slow to watch.
    – Shelvey needs to work on his body language. It`s OK telling your teammates to do better, but try making an example instead of half-jogging around.
    – Having Dummett as first-choice LB. He`s barely Football League 1-standard.
    – Again failing to show exactly what kind of role Wijnaldum is supposed to have in our build-up-play.

    Etc.

We all know ashley is the root of the demise of this club. There is not a lot we can do about him, unless some of you are stupidly wealthy. What we see on a weekly basis is a poorly run football team. If we go down , who knows when we will ever come back. it wont be like 09/10 season. get rid of eddie windass and we might have a chance

Villa to relegate us 2nd to last game of the season or what?

  • 34 Williamson is Bramble in disguise // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:23 PM

Vantoon agree with alot if that! Thought lacelles did alright other than the penalty, and whilst Colo wasn’t at fault for any goals today for a change, he did give the ball away alot… And the whole defence had no shape and was well out of position most of the gamee, which you could argue Colo as the experienced defender should be organising, like wise as captain he needs to be doing more, miss the likes of Nolan Barton and cabaye badly in the middle, no bite atall, add to that they can’t pass or beat a player and it explains why the ball doesn’t make it as far as the opposition box…

  • 35 Mister Tuff // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:23 PM

I think it is true to say that whilst posters will say manager x,y,z is crap – this does not mean that they do not apportion blame to those that hired them in the first place.

The tactics of playing Perez up top was disasterous.

Although neither of you are particularly disagreeing with me, i feel you two are arguing with each other as to which kind of sh1t smells the worst. We were actually better off with pardews bore-ball (dog-sh1t) instead of maccas relegation-ball (horse-sh1t).

  • 44 Blofal // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:30 PM

McClaren has one more game. Unless we win against WBA and win convincingly that’s it. He has to go.

Today was completely the wrong setup. Perez up front as a lone striker was never going to work. Even playing on the counter you need a holding striker.

Please not Moyes. I would even prefer Nigel Pearson to Moyes.

  • 45 Mister Tuff // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:31 PM

manx – like I said earlier I’d forgotten about him as he had not played much – never really thought he was that good in the first place – so a combination of his previous offerings and a little bit of tonights showing – confirmed my previous assessments.
There were others who did not perform as well mind.
I’m sure Townsend only got an England call up because of loads of others being injured – I’ll stand corrected on that though.

Jesper. I couldn’t give a sh… what nationality our players are so long as they can score more goals than the opposition & concede far less goals than the opposition for at least 7 games out of the next 14. That is the extent of the task before them

  • 51 Williamson is Bramble in disguise // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:35 PM

Manxpie other than one cracker for England I’ve never seen anything from townsend that would justify a 12m price tag, and he did nothing today, not faulting him for his effort as like you said he probably put more in than alot of players, but I just don’t think he’s that good, no Benny anyway! If he was pochettino would have payed more of an interest in him…. Hoping I’m wrong but think he’ll follow in the footsteps of cabella and thauvin.

That’s almost half of the 25 squad.

Either way it’s irrelevant, you have your views which I believe in not the only one to pull you on this though. I have to go to bed though long day ahead of me tomorrow. Good night all and hopefully better things to come on Saturday

Whose even left to play at the back? Is Taylor able to be propped up against one of the posts hopefully? Maybe just haul out a bench from the sideline and place it at the edge of the box? At least that won’t back off a striker coming at them like Colo does!

  • 60 VanToonMan // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:42 PM

The thing is next game at home – You can start Perez because we are at home – and Townsend on left and Sissoko on right will be more effective because we will have more possession and stretch the game on our big pitch.

But for away games we have to be a bit (dare I say it) Pardew tactical-like. Play Mitro up top – stay compact and try and nick it. CANNOT be playing soft-touch dribblers like Perez away from home – he must be an impact sub.

Saivet played well today. Real shame Lascelles got sent off otherwise I would have said to start him with Mbemba providing Mbemba is fit by saturday.

Dummett and Colo need to be bench at the most.

If/when Colback gets fit – he needs to play at LB – because we simply do not have anyone better (Haidara always injured and Mbabu not that fit either)

    Janmaat – Lascelles – Mbemba – Colback- –

    – – – – – – – – Saivet – – – – – Shelvey – – – –

    Sissoko – – – – – – Wijnaldum – – – -Townsend

    – — – – – -Mitro (away)/ Doumbia (home)- – – –

That needs to be our team for the final run-in of the season.

  • 61 Our Toon // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:42 PM

    Ycmiu

I don’t rate either of them and actually think they are as bad as each other. I think a foreign coach would do better purely because tactically we have something which is lacking in this country with our homegrown managers. Then we have 4 home games all winable if we play like we did against Liverpool & West Ham. They are Bournemouth, Mackems ,Palace , Swansea . In between we are away at Norwich & Stoke. To finish off we have Villa Away & Spurs at Home.
Don’t expect anything from Chelski Away, Southampton Away, Leicester away, Liverpool away, Man City at Home

    strange that like isn’t it?

  • 83 expatmag // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:58 PM

We need to win at least 6 fames from our remaining 14 and to be honest, I cannot see us doing it.

It will be any 2 of ourselves, Sunderland and Norwich to go down with Villa. This means we MUST beat Sunderland at home and Norwich away.

Unfortunately, I cannot see us winning either of these games under the current regime.

Ashley will be looking to claw back as much if his 80 million quid and more in the summer.

  • 84 West Lancs Geordie // Feb 3, 2016 at 11:58 PM

Quite honestly if we don’t get 20/21 points from the games we have left we don’t deserve to stay up. No Arsenal, No Man U Can only see us losing for definite against Southampton Away, City at Home Liverpool Away. Leicester surely can’t keep it up & if they get Vardy & Mahrez injured they will struggle.
Get the f…ing injuries sorted & give us a chance.Need Colback, Anita, Mbembe Dummett & Cisse fit ASAP & sailor to stay fit for 14 matches No further suspensions.
Big ask I know but doable! Must win Saturday though.

  • 90 magscar // Feb 4, 2016 at 12:04 AM

Couldn’t understand Mac’s team selection in first place. Yet it was working in part up to Lennon’s scuffed shot undoing us. We had largely frustrated them until that point but without carrying the slightest threat ourselves.

Hard to believe we had the luxury of working on that set up for several days without any idea what to do when we gained possession.

Apart from that Mac still hasn’t worked out how to get the best out of Gini away from home either. Sissoko regularly flatters to deceive as well but has done since he arrived.

His substitutions although forced didn’t help.

If we are to get out of this mess with the defence we are stuck with he has to find away of us keeping possession and stop giving ball away cheaply in midfield and get into the final third more often. We have players who ought to be good in possession but we rarely show it away from home.

I didn’t want Mac and have tried to be sympathetic to his problems but if he doesn’t start getting results away we are probably going down as we won’t win enough at home.

The squad is unbalanced but surely a good manager could do better than he is doing. A defeat wasn’t totally surprising even if Everton have been struggling at home but the manner of it was hard to take. We looked clueless again and in my view that was due to his team selection , tactics and poor use of substitutes and not for the first time. We might have been in it until 1st penalty but I couldn’t see where a goal was coming from.

Worry is if he does get the push with presumably our only football man’s input to rely on (Carr!) who could we get. The obvious choices are those out of work i.e. Rogers and Moyes neither of whom fill me with confidence. Mind Gary Neville might be available soon but I think he is finding easier to talk the talk than do the walk.

We look far more stable when we play 442. If colback and mbabu are fit and Mbemba and Dummett are not I’d go

    Elliot

    Janmaat saylor Colo mbabu

    Sissoko shelvey colback townsend

    Doumbia mitrovic

Wijnaldum has vanished away from home. If get ahead I’d switch to 352 and take mbabu off and Wijnaldum on. Or start that way but we must play 2 up top. We need to attack constantly and keep teams on the back foot. We look far better when we do that.

  • 144 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 4, 2016 at 1:07 AM

Just got in from work and watched the highlights on Sky. OMG! Where do you start?

We know we cant score goals because weve got no natural goalscorer. The next best thing is to make sure you play a strike partnership. Unbelievable just that he plays only one up front. But that one is Perez.

The defence was a shambles as usual. How many bloggers were telling us that once we got the midfield sorted Colo and Co would stop shipping them in. Perhaps Ashley thought the same. 3-0 and Colo was so lucky that none of his mistakes cost us goals, although they very nearly did. The commentator was scathing. Colo was embarrassing.

Shelvey was typical Shelvey, Townsend was typical Townsend, Gini was typical Gini away from home, Jamnutz was typically wasteful. Okay Aarons was out of position but can folk now see why I kept saying he’s overhyped?

Makro’s and Costco’s performance was bloody awful. Truly the worst of the lot.

  • 145 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 4, 2016 at 1:09 AM

    Sissoko was shite too.

  • 146 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 4, 2016 at 1:12 AM

This guy Doumbia had better be good, Mr Carr and Mr Charnley.

  • 147 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 4, 2016 at 1:19 AM

Townsend is a top player … because he’s played for England. Shelvey is a top player … because he’s played for England. Colo is a top player … because he’s played for Argentina. Makro is a top manager … because he’s managed England. This seems to be the recruitment team’s mentality. I remember when I thought Stephen Ireland looked like a worldbeater at Man City, absolutely class. It just takes a gust of wind one day to scatter the stardust.

  • 157 willowdalerez // Feb 4, 2016 at 3:49 AM

Did not see the game. Awful is the summary. Was it in every aspect or was the fact we didn’t bring in a CB and LB a big part of it? By that I mean if our defense had been tighter was the midfield ready to link up well with our strikers?

If we were awful in all respects then did it look like Townsend, Sissoko, Saivet, Mitro, Shelvey, Perez didn’t have their heads in the game… was someone to blame or did they all simply have no heart I mean what was the problem?

I’m at a loss, team is good on paper except for the back 4… Can’t see a new manager turning that around!

  • 158 terencelim // Feb 4, 2016 at 3:59 AM

@Blofal, doesn’t matter if SM goes. Ashley will hire another yes man at his level.

We all now agree that Ashley and his ass lickers are the tumor of this club.

  • 159 davis_toons // Feb 4, 2016 at 4:31 AM

You can change all the back four and problem will still be there.

It is the manager that set up this game to lose or not.

Guess what we are away at home to Everton (yes, they didn’t played well and not winning but they still have got quality players)

I think backroom wanted to go for an attack that didn’t work out. These was nothing to prove for now cause its points that matters. And we are away.

The motivation should be to counter and control the game as possible. But we are overly looking for the killer pass.

I hope that we can do that at Home (Attack) and for away we should be slightly cautious and make chances as the game progress.

We would have to give the coaching staff another chance to get it right. Properly they would have learned.

I do not rate MC very highly but he does have some coaching skills for the game just needed to get the setup and substitution right together with his coaches and we can still be fine.

Shelvey should be substituted and not Saivet.

  • 160 davis_toons // Feb 4, 2016 at 4:43 AM

I hope Shelvey can prove himself about his sparingly hollywood passes.

He is no Cabaye or SteveG, once again. I never rate this guy tbh but i still hope he prove me wrong. (he kind of remind me of Alan Smith when he does his finger pointing throughout the game)

..hopefully SDJ can be back to challenge for his place again to put some pressure for Shelvey.

  • 161 greg // Feb 4, 2016 at 5:03 AM

I’ll agree with you re Shelvey. I never rated that player. He was hired as our talisman, as the quarterback of this new look team, and he was the poorest player on the field. We can blame Steve, but EVERYONE, including this blog, must say mea culpa, as this was the super-player who mgmt. could never get in. Well here you are.

Of course, I still really hope he proves me wrong and makes amazing assists and rules the MF.

  • 163 jimmysmith // Feb 4, 2016 at 5:20 AM

I think the players, coaches, chief executive etc can’t hack the pressure of being at a big club that finds itself too often battling relegation, or in the no mans land of having nothing to play for. I think they have the footballing equivalent of the yips.

I remember Ian Baker Finch winning the British Open, and then being almost immediately unable to hit a fairway, a green in regulation, or sink a putt for love nor money. Smart guy, good player, but started to overthink when expectations were ratcheted up.

Similarly, our players seemingly can’t handle the weight of the shirt, and management can’t help them out cos they aren’t steely enough either.

We should stay up, and we should start better next year, and finish top half, but with only 14 games to go, and in the bottom three, and having displayed nothing other than relegation form for well over a seasons worth of fixtures, and with feet of clay, we are odds on now for the drop.

Ashley could do worse than throw money at Mourinho on bended knee, to take on the job till the end of the season.

  • 164 Toon_Barmy // Feb 4, 2016 at 5:30 AM

The morning after the night before. HUGE game on Saturday. Let’s hope Gini shows up on sat and shelvey fetches his passing boots. I would mention Mitrovic bringing his shooting boots but I don’t think he owns a pair. Never want to see Perez up front on his own or Aarons LB again

  • 165 cyprus // Feb 4, 2016 at 5:33 AM

Mourinho doesn’t have the heart to deal with this sort of trouble either. It’s going to be Steve getting us out of it or taking us down…
They do need to do their HW: e.g. our most dangerous side has been that of Janmaat-Sissoko. Whenever either had the ball there were 3 or more (!) players onto them. How did we deal with it? We didn’t. The blog attacked them, especially the latter, instead of focusing on why.

There should have been battles raging there, people going in to help out. But no, they kept their original roles: Shelvey pointing to where the ball should be going, instead of going there himself.

Manx…are you drunk? or are you lost on what transcript says?

Morning Ron…did you watch the game?

    *that

  • 168 Lilongwe Geordie // Feb 4, 2016 at 5:53 AM

    Jesper,
I think the point Manx is trying to make is that Austin scored on his first game back in the Prem and had scored a decent amount the season before. Xisco scored on his debut, but had never played in the Prem before, so was not proven, by this theory.

  • 169 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Feb 4, 2016 at 5:57 AM

Cyprus…I was really unimpressed by our Left side last night. There’s absolutely no help what so ever in Dummett. We cannot even build up our game from the Left side. The opposition knows how to deal with us because we are so one dimensional on that side.

  • 170 Lilongwe Geordie // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:01 AM

Pretty abysmal performance all round. Not really sure I want to go into it too much, but it is a big worry that McClaren is still making fairly obvious tactical errors both prior to and during matches.

Other than Elliot it is difficult to pick out anyone who even had a half decent match. Lee Ryder gave Shelvey a 7, but that seems massively generous, although he wasn’t as bad as some of the others.

We aren’t going to retain possession higher up the pitch without Mitro, and Mitro just isn’t getting the goals, he should have got 1 last night, but our play at least improved marginally when he came on.

Townsend didn’t impress, but it was his first game so plenty of time yet, Sissoko was wasteful and Gini might as well not have been playing. None of our defenders come away with any credit last night. Poor displays across the board.

Anyone heard anything on how badly Mbemba is injured? Did Dummet go off injured or was that a tactical change with Aarons at half time?

  • 171 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:03 AM

Lilongwe…I can read that mate but it still doesn’t explain what he’s on about.

My question was what was the requirement for be considered proven. Scoring in your first game dies not make you proven.

Lets just get in on record Xisco did in fact score on his first game.

Austin having a great first season does not make him proven either and scoring in first game does not either.

That’s just a pile of nonsense written there by Manx. That’s all I see.

  • 172 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:04 AM

    *first game back

  • 173 cyprus // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:05 AM

    Jesper,
In truth, nothing worked out. I’ve been picking on Shelvey who was the worst on the field, others on Sissoko, etc.
But, bow about Gini? Why does he have such up and down performances? What’s up with Perez, our ex best player?

Only Saivet and Elliott were outstanding, the rest were mediocre. Maybe it’s the coaches, but the players must shoulder some of the blame.

  • 174 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:07 AM

No news on Mbembe yet. Don’t think Dummett is injured.

  • 175 Lilongwe Geordie // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:08 AM

    Jesper,
I’m not saying I agree with that theory of a player being proven, but the difference between Austin and Xisco is that Austin had done it the year before in the Prem then scored on his Southampton debut. That is Manx’s point, and that is a big difference between Xisco and Austin.

Manx isn’t saying that Xisco didn’t score on debut, he is pointing out that he scored goals in the Prem the season before.

  • 176 Ron Knee // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:08 AM

    Morning jesper

Fortunately, I missed the match – we had a power cut.

It doesn’t look like McClaren will be in a battle of wits with Pep Guardiola next season!

  • 177 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:11 AM

Cyprus…I think the problem is in the confinements of how we play and the decisions we make. Of course players need to shoulder blame as well, but McC and his couches are setting the playground for them.

    Ron…lucky you 😉 lol

  • 178 Keith in France // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:16 AM

Given how ruthless Ashley is in business I am very surprised he has stuck with the manager – if it was one of his Sports Direct Directors who had achieved such poor results with the budget he was given he would have been given his P45 by now.

Saturday is going to be a difficult game – look how we perform against the ‘lesser’ sides or any side for that matter ! What price for a certain Mr B to score against us ?

  • 179 cyprus // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:17 AM

When I played football, there were two types of ‘pointers’. People who pointed were to put the ball because that’s were they wanted to go themselves. They pointed the through balls. You like to play with these people.

The other types, were the couch-type pointers. The ones who told you where to pass the ball, but they were personally not involved at all. They even pointed the obvious sideways passes. I wanted to yell, ‘I know, I can see too’, but more, I wanted to slap them 🙂

Shelvey, stop pointing, start playing, if you can.

  • 181 jesperfuglsang - capt'n awesome of the lemon crew // Feb 4, 2016 at 6:19 AM

Lilongwe…that was actually what Manx was saying. I only used Xisco to point out the silliness in stating scoring a goal in your first game makes you proven.

His ramble about Austin’s one hit wonder season (so far we know) came after these words were exchanged. And they are still not a measurement of being proven. Which was the question at hand.

My problem is not reading the words mate, but what he’s on about because that still doesn’t answer anything.

Gutted! Last night was a game we should have been targeting for points, All day I was saying we will win, and in the end we didn’t even bother trying.

That was a woeful display brought about by the ineptitude of the head coach.

The players we have are not bad players, but the system Macca used, playing Perez upfront on his own was just diabolical.

We simply could not get any sort of control in the game and that was obvious from the first minute, and after the first few minutes we have had a couple of warning shots across our bow.

Macca did nothing……….Nothing, he just sat there looking on with that vacant expression across his face.

The system had one positive only, it made Everton look better than they are.

Macca needs to go, £28m spent in January, in a serious relegation battle, and Macca want to experiment with the squad setup.

    Gutted!

‘Got’ us into, Dr Ed…gotten is not a word. Except in the States. Harrumph.

My grump heavily influenced by last night’s debacle.
We have that aura about us this season that previous teams who have been relegated had; the one step forward and two steps backward aura. Or, as in last night’s case, 81 million steps backward.
A ‘striker’ who can’t hit a barn door, and defenders who want to fiddle about with the ball rather than, you know, defend.
Bah. If we don’t win against the Baggies, I fear that’s it.
