Newcastle Have Very Poor Record Against These Teams

8:08 am, Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 9 Comments

When we played West Brom recently they hadn’t won in their previous five games and they were in a slump,  but they came out of it with a good 1-0 win over Newcastle and the Magpies do not have a good record when we play teams in a slump.

They somehow manage to beat us and we hope that’s not the case at Goodison Park tonight with Toffees manager Roberto Martinez under some pressure from the fans.

Roberto Martinez – last win in league was against us

Everton have not won in their last five games in the league since beating us 1-0 at St. James’ Park, when they scored with 12 seconds left in added time.

At the time McClaren said we were really unlucky and deserved at least a point and could have won it.

Another defeat would make it six defeats ion pour last eight games is a draw is the minimum we need to get out of this game.

It would not be good to lose again tonight.

Certainly BBC pundit and former Newcastle coach Mark Lawrenson thinks it will take time for the new players at Newcastle to gel and he expects an Everton win – 2-1.

This is what Mark had to say on BBC Sport:

“Everton boss Roberto Martinez is under a bit of pressure because of their league form, especially at home.

“They have not won at Goodison Park in the Premier League since 21 November.”

“I think the Toffees will put that right on Wednesday, though.”

Time is starting to run out so we hope the new reason we don’t win is that the new players need to gel in the side, because we need to start winning now.

Excuses can be made throughout the season, but we will soon be starting to run out of games in what is our worst season ever in the Premier League – so far.

We must start getting the results.

We will win tonight, and kick start our road to recovery.

Looks like Doumbia will be unavailable and dont forget Townsend hasnt played a full senior game since October last year so I am not expecting anything better than a draw. In fact, I expect them to win in a tight affair.

I hope Everton sack Martinez and replace him with Moyes. That way he won’t be to manage us when McClaren gets sacked.

I’d take a draw tonight, but the West Brom match is a must win, if we want to keep our BPL status for the next year.

I’m confident of a win, Everton are poor at home, and we are an unknown, what I mean is in the past every man and his dog would predict the squad the formation and the subs that would come on.

Today we have options, it’s difficult now to predict what McClaren will do, who will start and who will be on the bench.

Today we will be up for this game, and I look forward to seeing some of our new boys coming out to prove a point.

If we nick an early goal their fans will be on their players back….sound familiar?

    2-0 to the toon.

2-0 to the Toon just went down the toilet , hope you covered the bet with a 2-1 win to us !
Why can’t we defend – just stand on the attackers toes or surround them then they can’t turn and score … .
