In A Must-Win Game – Newcastle Will Win

It’s turning into a must-win game for Newcastle and Steve McClaren tomorrow against West Brom and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has given his view on how the game will go.

One thing we can count on is Tony Pulis’ side, as usual,  will make it very difficult tos core and that’s where Newcastle must be patient – but also must score.

We cannot win if we cannot score – and that could be a problem for us.

Paul Merson – takes Newcastle to win

This is how Paul Merson has to say about the game:

This has the makings of a good game. West Brom under Tony Pulis rarely lose to sides at the bottom and they play well away from home.Saying that, I’ve got to go for Newcastle to get the win.

They’re at home, they’ve got all their new signings and they need to bounce back from their defeat at Everton.

It’s a must-win game for Newcastle, they’ll be thinking they haven’t got too many of these sort of games remaining.

What Newcastle have done this season in their inconsistent way is that after a disastrous display – like we had at Everton on Wednesday evening – we come back and give a good display.

On the other hand, after a really good display and a good win we usually go and put in an awful display and lose the next game – maybe that comes next week at Stamford Bridge if we can win tomorrow?

And we have lost five of the last seven games so it’s really time for a win tomorrow.

And if we don’t win tomorrow Mike Ashley will have to consider long and hard whether Steve McClaren will taking Newcastle down – and that would be an unmitigated disaster for the club and everybody associated with Newcastle United.

We hope Paul Merson will be right and we can win tomorrow – but a draw will not be good enough – we need the points.

However fans are not all that confident we can get the win tomorrow – although it is the majority choice.
