so wat is a new manager gonna do when we don’t have a defence or a goal scorer?

it said before the game we havent had a consistant defence all season

  • 2 JackButler // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:09 PM

Nah Ed, watching it once was enough 🙁

  • 3 manxpie // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:11 PM

jack aye they did but they were at home we haven’t looked shocking at home
and chelsea havent looked that good all season but recently you could see they were starting to find there way

Reilly says we have a good squad. Hahaha. Teilly, you sound like Makro. Do you also grin inanely while you sleepwalk?

A new manager might motivate them better. He might even set up a balanced team.
I”ve been one of those that would love to give McClaren time because of his desire to play attacking football but we don’t have that time. We need a manager that can get this bunch to work hard. McClaren isn’t that manager right now unfortunately.

    Manx

How much did SM push for a left back or centre half in the summer of January?

But even with the current squad his tactics are pathetic, we play a high line with two of the slowest centre halfs I’ve ever seen in my like, one of our best players Perez is on the bench while Mitro, who has little to no pace and is very poor in front of goal starts?

He’s not making the best of the players he does have with selection or tactics

  • 8 GeordieTwo // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:14 PM

When you have Aarons giving away the ball and looking lost under Chelsea pressure and Saylor looking lost and winded after five minutes what is Colo supposed to do by himself? We were lucky to get away with playing Aarons against West Brom at home let alone Chelsea away. That is complete lunacy by McCarver. Sack him and bring in either Moyes or Rodgers but do something Ashley.

  • 9 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:15 PM

Makro’s talking about waiting for players coming back. I can only think he means Dummett and Mbemba. We lose two players and we’re knacked.

I have said this on numerous occasions now, janmaat cannot defend for toffee. Watches runners pass him and has no intention of tracking them. Either start playing him further forward or don’t play him at all. We need proper defenders at the back who can actually defend

  • 11 reilly // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:16 PM

so your saying we havnt got good players that could be playing alot better than they are.
well that comment shows all on here you havnt got a clue.
but thats nothing new with the stavers brothers.

  • 12 manxpie // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:17 PM

fab but remember its an ashley type manager that will come in
we havent got the players for a balanced team full stop especially with all the injuries so that can’t change much

i’d rather we parked the bus in every away game but then he’d get abuse aswell

a new ashley manager would guarentee us going down

  • 13 Take A Chancel On Me // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:17 PM

We have some very good players playing way under par. a new manager would see that we get more out of them

  • 14 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:17 PM

We have such a good squad, we can’t function without dummett and mbemba. Incredible.

If McClaren was on the Voice and no judges chair turned he would still think he was through #nufc

  • 16 Blackley and Brownlie // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:20 PM

    Reilly
Who have you got in mind? Name our quality defenders and goalscorers.

  • 17 The next Mike Williamson // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:20 PM

If you do not change direction, you will end up where you are heading.

We’re heading down. Kinnear, Pardew, McClaren. Loser after loser after loser. Where does anyone expect to be after employing them three. The club has been rotting for a long time. I can’t see McClaren changing much. He’ll just stick with his formation and 11 and stand there bemused while we lose.

  • 18 croftus5678 // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:20 PM

    @14 blackley

tbh buddy that game has made me think mbemba and dummett should be our main cb pairing for as much of this season as possible.

  • 19 Lindisfarne // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:20 PM

Savage says the problem is with midfielders running back towards their own goal.

  • 20 Belfast // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:20 PM

It doesn’t matter who they bring in. We can’t defend and we can’t score goals.

We’re relegation fodder no matter who’s in charge.

I really wish McClaren would shave that front tuff of his head though. It’s becoming a sackable offence.

  • 21 21st Century Schizoid Man // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:22 PM

If we do not win four of our home games we are down. Even then it is in the balance.

There is very little chance of picking up more than 3 points away (maybe Villa) – and quite likely none at all.
Finish with 36pts – our current form – and we’re gone.

Doesn’t matter how hard the run in is for the rest of them. Our GD is now so bad it’ll push us down a place every time we tie on points.

  • 22 reilly // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:22 PM

we have a good squad that should be playing alot better than they are.
theres only 1 person to blame for this mess.
do norwich swansea palace b/mouth sunderland west brom have better squads.no they dont

  • 23 JackButler // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:23 PM

Parking the bus when you have Colo and Saylor playing is about the only option as they are so damn easy to turn and run beyond, throw in a kid being played out of position and you’d have to be mad/stupid to try anything else, especially when you are playing a side with pace away from home.

Look at how Leicester set themselves up and look at how SM sets us up, chalk and cheese, you set your tactics and formation to suit the players you have you do not try to shoe horn players into a formation that doesn’t work

  • 24 reilly // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:25 PM

i thought mitro was your hero last week.
fkin hell talk about being fickle.
you like your brother havnt a clue

  • 25 manxpie // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:26 PM

he ain’t in charge of transfers tho is he?
i think that has been proven over ashley’s whole time here
plus perez didn’t do that well when he got his chance either
our problem is we don’t have a top striker simple as that we gambled on mitro hiiting the ground running and also the defence

i’m sure if you asked any manager in the world they’d say they wanted at least 2 players for each posistion
ashley getting away with it again!!!!!

  • 26 No Defence // Feb 13, 2016 at 8:30 PM

I know I call myself no defence, is there any defending that performance, imo just shows how bad WBA were. Why is it that we can get players like Winaldum and Shelvey look good at home but look like fish out of water away?

  • 27 jimiley // Feb 13, 2016 at 9:03 PM

Mr Tuftys TV interview after the games was a sackable offence in its own right.
Smiling away, he basically said that everything would be Oknand that Chelsea are a top team and too good for us. He would get a reaction for the next 12 games and everything would be grand in la la land. Instead of being shocked, he was very upbeat. Incredible stuff from tufty.
