We’ve heard all the excuses in the world this season from Steve McClaren, as he has gone through explaining what happened in his press conference after each of the 14 defeats we have suffered.
In life you get the results or you get the reasons and with Steve’s record we have had many reasons and very few results.
Steve McClaren at his press conference following the game
Steve says at the moment the away form is inconsistent – but the away form gas been disastrous all season.
We still don’t think Steve McClaren fully gets the extreme gravity of the situation he has created at Newcastle.
He talks about 12 cup finals – what the heck does that mean – it sounds good but what does it mean?
It’s a stupid little sound bite that’s what it is.
And was yesterday at Chelsea a cup final?
We don’t like the way he half smiles saying his first sentence.

Does the silly bugga not realise we cannot win a cup tie never-mind a bloody cup-final.
Much better if he came out and said we were S••T and have been S••T most away games and a few home games

Comment #2With a bit of luck we might not loose any ground next week with the fixtures:
BUT I Can see the Mackems climbing out of the relegation Zone by the time we play them

Comment #5Aye Charlie…was just looking forward at the next few weeks / fixtures (has to be better than dwelling on the horrors of last night, after all!!)
All games are massive of course, but we need to scrape something out of the Stoke away. Bournemouth game must be 3 points picked up cos we will,I fear, get another hammering at Leicester.
All the stars are aligning to make it gargantuan pressure on us to beat the makems. At least we are at home!

The only thing Charmless does well is convincing Ashley that he knows what he’s doing! How else to explain that he’s still managing director?

Comment #9Feel we’re going to rely on three teams being worse than us which is difficult at the minute.
I hope we stay up but my head and common sense tell me otherwise. We’re right in the smelly sticky Brown stuff and the players last night just didn’t look bothered.
On the bright side we’ll get eight extra games next year!

After watching the Mackems then us yesterday – we stand a cat in hells chance of beating them.
Their players will be to strong and muscular for our players and will get bullied and out muscled off the ball like Man Utd were yesterday.
Can see a heavy defeat again and more humiliation
Mackems are from MORDOR!

Yes, my head agrees with you.
But we can be a different proposition at home. Can is the operative word.
It all comes back to no balls in our team, the old leadership and guts issue. We roll over when we concede. Our two leaders are SM and on the field Colo. SM walked out and hid in the dressing room or sat looking dazed in his chair. Or that’s what it looks like onto tv to millions. Sends a message…
Colo was anonymous when the chips were down again.
The makems have that presence. They are the concern now. 4 points from Liverpool and MU. Didn’t see that coming to be fair to them. There was luck involved but they give themselves a chance. I still believe we will finish ahead of Norwich but that might not matter.
Our season might come down to wether we beat sunderland at home or not.

Comment #14Charnley went for the manager who can best be described as ‘undemanding’. He was grateful. What we need is someone who not only demands of his players but makes demands of the club (and I don’t mean panic January purchases). Talk of Pearson or some other disciplinarian is not positive. We need a manager who expects to be at a club which means to win. At the moment, that isn’t us.
