Maybe This Returning Player Can Help Save Newcastle

Alessandro Schoenmaker is the Newcastle fitness coach and he very rarely gives interviews but he´s done just that on the Newcastle web-site and he talks about how important the trip to La Manga is.

The players have been out on the training pitch starting on Wednesday and its supposed to be some intense training for the players.

Obviously after maybe our worst performance of the season fans think this is nothing more than a rest and relaxation trip and that the players because of their last two insipid displays away form home shouldn´t have been sent on a jolly.

Siem de Jong in action against Liverpool

If we had drawn or beaten Chelsea last Saturday there wouldn´t have been those issues, but the fans were furious the players didn´t turn up at Stamford Bridge.

This is what Alessandro Schoenmaker has said on the Newcastle web-site:

“I have been here three times before, including with FC Twente the year we won the championship under Steve,” “In terms of facilities and environment it is very good and the temperature is better than at home.”

“The pitches are good and we are going to get a good game on Saturday – they are the most important things.” “It is ideal because it is not too far.”

“Instead of going to Dubai or Qatar, which is much more flight-time, different time zones and a very hot temperature, we have a great base here.”

“It is a really important week for us. Some teams may give players extra days off but this is a week of hard work for us.”

“This week should see a few people get back training with the group, like Vurnon (Anita) and Siem de Jong.”

“There is a game at the end of the week against Lillestrom for players to get more minutes and keep playing. It’s about maintaining their match fitness in this gap before we play Stoke City.”

“This is always a good time to get the group together, do extra work on the training pitch and in the gym, and with a game at the end of it.”

“Some of the players will have extra sessions, especially those who haven’t played too much in the last few weeks, but it will be hard work for everyone.”

“Siem has been very unlucky with his eye injury.” “For three weeks he wasn’t able to do any work, and he has now had one full week of training with me, both outside and in the gym.”

“This week he will be introduced back into the group, starting with no contact but by the end of the week it will be full contact.”

That´s good news on Siem de Jong and when he started in the team for Newcastle this season that´s when we had the good wins against Liverpool and Tottenham, but then he missed that sitter in the next game at home to Villa which we also should have won.

Since then we have lost seven of the last ten games.

Alessandro Schoenmaker – Newcastle fitness coach

Maybe Steve McClaren needs to rely on his more experienced players to see us through the mess we are in at the moment?

Anyway, it will be good to have Siem available, but the Dutchman has had an injury ravaged 18 months on Tyneside since he arrived from Ajax in the summer of 2014.

Siem has made only 22 appearances for Newcastle with two goals, but it would be great if he can come through for Newcastle in our time of need and help save us this season.

Somebody needs to do that.

McClaren is still the manager 100% over Pardew.

Even thou i didn’t support his appointment but i have more believe in him than Pardew football.

If Pardew and his football can have a 10 over years contract i don’t see why McClaren cant have some time to bed in constantly new players.

What kind of mangers do we still have out there? MA doesnt seems too interested now after he messed it up..

Nothing wrong with refreshing the players mind and build some spirit to win games in the trip but he and his coaching staffs appears to be poor for Newcastle utd FB club.

New fitness coach this season, but nothing changes. More injuries than anybody else, and we are always the team that looks more knackered as the game goes on. I think of that Talking Heads song ..”the same as it ever was, the same as it ever was…”
