Newcastle play Lillestrom this afternoon in a friendly in La Manga and Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren has just named his side for the game and captaining Newcastle for the first time is new arrival Jonjo Shelvey who apparently has been vocal both on and off the field since he arrived last month from Swansea.
Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Karl Darlow; Daryl Janmaat, Steven Taylor, Jamaal Lascelles, Liam Gibson; Henri Saivet, Jonjo Shelvey (c); Andros Townsend, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ayoze Perez; Seydou Doumbia
Substitutes: Freddie Woodman, Jamie Sterry, Callum Williams, Fabricio Coloccini, Daniel Barlaser, Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran, Rolando Aarons, Emmanuel Riviere

Substitutes: Jacob Faye-Lund, Martin Falkeborn, Ole Martin Rindaroy, Erik Brenden, Petter Mathias Olsen, Sheriff Sinyan, Arni Vilhjalmsson

It’s good to see Seydou Doumbia get a start and we suppose there would be a buzz after the game if the Ivory Coast International was able to score – and especially if he looks a lot fitter than he’s looked since he arrived last month.
New signing Henri Saivet gets a start and young 6’1″ tall local lad Liam Gibson starts at left back for Newcastle – and it’s a big opportunity for Liam to show what he can do.
It’s the old 4-2-3-1 formation with Townsend and Perez the wingers – and Gini Wijnaldum in the number 10 role with Doumbia the lone striker up front.
Jamaal Lascelles is at center-back and the youngsters has looked good recently when playing in the first team.
