Newcastle Already Have One Deal Completed For The Summer

On loan Newcastle midfielder Remy Cabella will sign full time for Marseille in the summer when his loan deal completes and as we understand it once he had played 12 first team games for Marseille the permanent transfer automatically kicks in.

In his loan contract there was a clause/option to buy for €8M (£6.3M), so it looks like we will get most of our money back that we paid out to Montpellier about twenty months ago for the French International – most estimates are that we paid around £7M for him.

Cabella is one of three Frenchmen brought in by Chief Scout Graham Carr who have failed rather miserably at Newcastle since being signed in the last eighteen months – with Florian Thauvin and Emmanuel Riviere being the other two.

Those three players cost Newcastle around £28M – and they were not good buys for us.

The Frenchman has said this about the deal in Foot Mercato:

“Yes, there is an option to buy; this was expected from the start.

“Under normal circumstances, I will be at Marseille next season as I am happy and I have adapted well. I get along well with the club, the staff, and all the players. There is a great atmosphere.

“Now I want to help the club to get back to the highest level.”

Remy has done quite well at Marseille after a rather slow start and he has 5 goals in 27 appearances for the south of France club and obviously the French League is much more to his liking than the more physical Premier League.

The 25-year-old played 34 times for Newcastle last season with one goal,  but he was shipped out on loan last summer as Newcastle seemed to have give up on him and that was a surprise to us.

Then Graham Carr brought in a similar player with similar physique – Florian Thauvin.

Why?

Anyway, it seems that Newcastle have already one deal completed for this summer and the deal will become official on July 1st.

Comments welcome.

Maybe it wasn’t very nice and I should know better but I once read an article on the TV series Deadwood, it said Billy the kid was a moron, I went through a bit of a period calling welshgeordie9 a moron because I believe he acts like one.

Honestly think that bournemotuh at home will be a very difficult game, lot of our fans predicting a win, if we’re not 100% at it then we will struggle they play in a way we always struggle against, stretching the pitch and a lot of pace up front.

Any chance in the summer we can swap Tim krul with fraser forster? Southampton look a different outfit with him in goal. Stunning performance at Chelsea now at they lead 1-0….

He’s come so far since we sold him. Amazing.

Carr must be investigated for his signings in France. How did he kiss a host of players like payet and mahrez. He’s definitely corrupted.

The deal we should have completed already is getting Aarons on a new contract.
Too many other clubs sniffing around for my liking. Head gets turned and away he goes… just as he matures as a player.

I suppose as long as we have a good sell on % the management won’t mind.

Sell sissoko and get Redmond in from Norwich. English and all round a better winger and player than sissoko.

Ian Toon , there was no provocateur

I posted a joke about a ride on lawnmower..( a Sheep with a plastic chair on its back)

You then told me to stop injecting myself intravenously after I answered your question “are you in the music Bizz” I replied yes ..and you then cast a shadow that I’m a drug Addict who injects illegal drugs

Way below the belt , and damn offensive ..and in response to a Joke

You got some serious problems..think about it , you would not say it to me face to face ..that has me thinking your a little coward.

Lol palace fans turning on pardew. Pardew showing that he indeed is a rubbish manager. Alot of fluke results he has making him look like a premier league manager.

They are hoofing the ball bypassing the midfield to the 2 upfront. Exactly what he used to do with us. Good riddance.
