It’s a very important game for us at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday night and if our players put in performance like we have in our last two road games at Everton and Chelsea we will lose our 11th away game in 14 at the Britannia Stadium.
If we are to survive being relegated for a second season running we will need to have all our players awake when the whistle blows to start the game on Wednesday night – and then we will need to play at or near our best form.
Steve McClaren – Newcastle manager

Comment #1I’m the ‘draw’. But it’s gonna be very tough and as always will depend on wether we decide to properly turn up.

Comment #6Just read on nufc.com that the Chinese window has shut. I also heard Mclaren say that we wanted to keep Tiote, so who was ‘we’? Was it the football members of the board? Did Carr vote for him to be sold for some kind of sell on fee, I keep askibg this question without answer, who is making the football decisions at the club. Mclaren may have had influence over Shelvey and Townsend but who had the final say on Mitrovich or Wijnaldum.

We dealt with the ball but they were too much for us when they had, we were magnificent and if it wasn’t for their three goals we should have had a deserved draw. If we keep putting in displays like this we’ll be ok. So it’s back to training on Friday and we’ll lick or wounds and come out ready for the Bournemouth game next Tuesday? All this while grinning like a patient of some Victorian mental asylum!

Comment #10It’s most unlikely we will. The ownership and minions seem to fail to recognise how competitive the league is. It’s treacherous, and I’m afraid we are odds on for the drop now. We have the talent, but obviously the will, backbone, and self belief has fallen by the wayside thanks to these duff opportunists at the helm.It can’t just be about the money. That surely isn’t going to bear fruit.
