Enough Is Enough – McClaren Has To Be Fired Now

6:20 pm, Saturday, March 5th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 23 Comments

Newcastle lost 3-1 at home to Bournemouth for what was our 5th defeat in the last 6 games and that was after we had spent £82M on four more new players with the head coach McClaren saying following the January transfer window that we have enough talent to get out of the mess he has had us in all season long.

That doesn’t seem to be the case and since has now had 28 games in charge and produced only six wins with 16 defeats it is now time for him to be fired – no more chances.

Newcastle fan have had enough of Steve McClaren

We are now a full 9 points behind Swansea who are in 5th bottom place so it is between three clubs Sunderland, Norwich and ourselves as to which two go down with Aston Villa.

Sunderland drew  1-1 at Southampton but it took a Virgil van Dijk goal late in stoppage time to deprive Sunderland of all 3 points, but they still go one point above us in the league.

Aston Villa were hammered 4-0 at Manchester City and Norwich lost 1-0 at Swansea.

Here is the current league table which tells the disastrous story of yet another disastrous Newcastle season.

Crystal Palace38-1242
19 Norwich38-2834
20Aston Villa38-4917

And here is Steve McClaren’s record at Newcastle – he has been a complete and utter disastrous appointment by Lee Charnley – and Lee should find the guts and common sense to sack him – tomorrow.

Premier LeaguePlayedWonDrawnLostGFGAGDPoints

Lee Charnley is also completely out of his depth at Newcastle and he has again done nothing all season long to fix Newcastle’s obvious problem – a coach out of his depth at the club – yes the one Lee appointed.

And because of the delay it may already be too late to save us this season – that’s how serious the situation is.

And here’s the poll we conducted last week – and most of the votes have come in over the last week and certainly before today’s latest disaster.

Should Steve McClaren Be Fired At Newcastle?

That’s for the sake of Newcastle United.

This nonsense has gone on for far too long – McClaren would have been fired long ago at any other club.

First job as new manager. Walk in on McLaren, pee in his back pocket and have him dragged out by security. Then up to Lee’s office. Grab him by his chubby little cheeks, give him a whip round the office then down the hallway to the elevator and out in a pile of dust with McLaren. Beermonkey you can pee in Steve’s back pocket as well if you want to…

we have to win one game to even get out of the bottom three. cant see where its coming from. pathetic club

Totally inept performance from the manager today….team selection was a joke, the formation/plan was non existent and the performance was dire.

The players can take a fair share of blame as well, they aren’t putting in any effort at all, they should be ashamed. However I can imagine playing under such a poor manager is hardly inspiring. For those who have been there a while and suffered under the previous two muppets as well they must be losing the will to live, never mind work hard during a game.

We need change top to bottom, that can’t happen before the end of the season so I think we might be down, hate to say it.

A change of manager is the only option which has the chance to make an impact…we can’t buy players, the MD and scout being replaced would have little impact now…the manager is the only change which can be made. It has to happen tonight. We need somebody else, even if it’s just until the end of the season with a big bonus to keep us up.

With this club enough is never enough Ed. You should know that by know. This is where the club owner hides and closes his eyes and whimpers. Just like last season with Carver.

writing was on the wall as soon as macca was pictured holding that scarf on that barren patch of dirt at SJP.

If I was Ashley I would step in and sack Charnley & McClaren. Then I would bring in one of his top men from SD to run the club and get a new head coach/manager – Nigel Pearson would be my choice.

    Ha, ha @ 2.
In other news, we have yet another hamstring injury to Paul Dummet. Wtf do they do/ not do in training at nufc to have this number of injuries, year after year? It is staggering.

The fat cnut is too busy with the all the other good business stuff in his life to give NUFC a second thought.

If NUFC really meant something to him he’d have stepped in long before now.

We’re so far down the pecking order we’re just below HR compliance at his distribution warehouse.

Bottom line is he simply doesn’t care…if he did he wouldn’t have left Charnley in charge.

Sack him straight away. Now. Do it Ashley. Bring in Moyes and hold your breath. Then sack Charnley and Carr in the summer. They were the ones begging McLaren to come.

  • 11 GeordieTwo // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:30 PM

Very good Charlie @2. Ten to 15 should be good for Johnson. Steve can take as much time as he likes. On holiday.

  • 12 Toonacious T // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:31 PM

Apparently Cashley was not even at the game today. Clearly he was more interested in the north London derby.

  • 13 GeordieTwo // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:32 PM

I hear there is a very nice home for retired nitwits that McLaren could try after he leaves us.

  • 14 mactoon // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:34 PM

Ashley needs Charnley to make a decision, sack McClaren NOW and bring in Moyes for the rest of the season. If Charnley decides to give McClaren the rest of the season then Ashley needs to sack them both and bring in Moyes regardless.

I think Mclaren needs a bit more time. Its un fair to judge him after todays performance.

It was tough out there and we where unlucky. Ashley please dont fire McLaren, the team has definately improved.

  • 16 JamesToon // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:35 PM

Absolutely outclassed by Bournemouth today. Proper footballing team they are. Whereas we are the opposite, so inept, no tactical nouse, no passion.

  • 17 chicousa // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:35 PM

Bring in Nigel Pearson immediately, have him beat the fear and negativity out of the club that McLaren has allowed to fester and then go to Leicester and shock the league leaders next Monday night! It’s time for a manager who can shock this club out of their zombie state…

  • 18 Magpie Myles // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:35 PM

Let’s be honest lads, Ashley has his faults, but he put 70+ mill in to transfers this year. Carr, Charnley and McClaren have ballsed this up! Those 3 identified the targets and paid for the flops we have. Only Shelvey and Wiji are the only signings that are worth anything. Look at Watford, Leicester or West Ham. They spent less and progressed this season! Christ look at Bournemouth! They spent a fraction of what we have and they are pretty secure for premier league football next season. For all his faults, at least Ashley put his money where he promised. The other 3 have not delivered! Get rid of them now and we might just survive!

When I had that little chat with Maclaren at Leeds Bradford airport I could see then he was clueless and un-inspiring.

I’ve been lucky to have chats with quite a few newcastle ex managers and players and none left me feeling as un-inspired ass he did.

What really pissed me off was he’s quite short but he had high heel shoes on and he walked like a strutting peacock pretty much saying “look at me…I’m Steve Maclaren…ex england and current newcastle manager.”

It sums us up that the only totally predictable option we’re being linked with is another dour, defensive long ball Brit manager in Moyes, twice recently sacked for stinking out OT with route 1 to Fellaini and then boring the catalans to tears. Another appointment destined to end in tears and another big pay-off.

For once can’t we have a foreign coach like the top 10 clubs have. Any of Nuno, Laudrup, Benitez, Sampauli, Garcia, Ginola would be far more dynamic and inspiring.

Wish we’d for once taken a risk on someone like Viera and let him bring in his own people.
The club stinks and sadly Moyes is not the answer.

  • 21 benjohnsen // Mar 5, 2016 at 6:49 PM

For people blaming the players. It is so obvious that McClaren has lost the dressing room. No doubt about it. The players are not even trying to hide it and I think this has been going on for a while.

I believe with a new manager you will see them flying out from the blocks.

To all my fellow Newcastle fans, we all know as long as Ashely is owner of our club nothing is ever going to change, he is the one who put these clowns on the so called football board, so the clowns are in charge of the circus, also on the radio today on i think it was talk sport, they said at what other football club would the owner put the head coach and head scout on the board of the club, they said it was totally crazy, they also said it was the reason Mc Claren will not be sacked, as he is not going to sack himself, and that other clown Charmles will not do anything about it as he hired Mc Claren in the first place. Kevin Keegan has previously said the amount Charnley knows about football you could put on a postage stamp, and still have loads of room left on the postage stamp, and these are the sort of people who are in charge of our great club, i rest my case my fellow Newcastle United fans, it might be better if we go down this year if it means Ashely will finally leave our club sooner rather than later. Ho way the lads.

Only chance we have now is to sack McLaren and get in maybe Rodgers or Moyes for last 10 days. Maybe they can get something out of our players.
