Does this report serve a purpose, Ed? We are already all too familiar with the shoddy management practices the board adopt…

  • 3 Doc // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:36 AM

So we have 2 managers now? Or will Charnley appoint McClaren as head coach?

    He encontrado esto:-

Informa JOSEBA LARRAÑAGA que RAFA BENÍTEZ será el próximo entrenador del NEWCASTLE las 3 próximas temporadas.

If anyone can remember, I posted a tactical analysis link about Benitez maybe two or three years ago.

I don’t know if this is the same one, but it is similar – I think it’s the same site – and an interesting enough read.

His teams are deemed cautious, but there’s a difference in being cautious while sitting back not knowing what you’re doing, and having a structured plan of attack with a proven track record of succeeding.

    From ssn.

Hopefully we can pull it off. And I hope it’s true about scrapping the head coach bollox.

Rafa Benitez is understood to be interested in replacing Steve McClaren at Newcastle, according to Sky sources
Rafa Benitez is understood to be interested in replacing Steve McClaren at Newcastle, according to Sky sources
Rafa Benitez’s representatives have indicated he would be interested in a manager role at Newcastle – Sky sources.

Benitez has been without a club since being sacked by Madrid in January after just seven months in charge at the Bernabeu.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Newcastle have made an approach for the Spaniard, who is keen to bring his own backroom staff to the club and wants the title of ‘manager’ rather than ‘head coach’.

Newcastle are thought to be considering scrapping their current policy of employing a ‘head coach’ in order to lure Benitez to St James’ Park.

even more shoddy….perhaps McClaren could be hired as Ashleys driver and take him down to London for the meeting and both could stay

Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley has been threatened with being in contempt of Parliament after failing to appear in front of a committee of MPs.
Mr Ashley had been asked to give evidence about the treatment of his workers.
It follows a BBC investigation into the Derbyshire company’s warehouse working practises.
Mr Ashley has until 21 March to respond after a letter from Hartlepool MP Iain Wright.
The letter reveals Mr Ashley had invited the Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) select committee – which Mr Wright chairs – to a meeting at the company’s base in Shirebrook.
“The treatment of low-paid workers and enforcement of the national minimum wage are issues that the committee will be keeping under review over the coming months,” Mr Wright’s letter states.

It shouldn’t even be a consideration should it.

Just fcuk it off and give him what he wants FFS!

That’s if any of the stories are true mind. Could be bashing bishop playing his slimy tricks again.

  • 9 Jail for Ashley // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:40 AM

This is beyond a shambles, if they don’t get Benitez do they honestly think this clown will keep us up. I worried this morning when I heard what Keith Gillespie had said, why would he say it and why is it news on Look North at six o clock in the morning. I hope this pursuit of Benitez isn’t propangda because failure will result in relegation not a mixture of mildy disgruntled or pacified fans.

Exactly. AP was overcautious, and JC and SM are clueless. Rafa hopefully will bring balance.

  • 11 richyg01 // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:44 AM

    Thats yesterdays photo aint it??

If not, hopefully he is just here to clear his desk

You say stop (Moncur) and I say go go go, ( Fan ) oh no ( Ashley )
You say goodbye ( McClaren ) and I say hello ( Benitez )
Hello hello ( the Fans )
I don’t know why you say goodby (Charnley – undecided ) , I say hello
Hello hello ( the Fans )
    I don’t know why you say goodbye ( McClaren) , I say hello ( Rafa )

massive let down if mssrs ash, carr and charnley cock this up. every chance they could.

  • 14 richyg01 // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:45 AM

I think Charnley will keep Steve in as Director of Football since he is already on the board

  • 15 Novocastrian66 // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:48 AM

lochinvar; from Bard of the blog to Beatle of the blog.

  • 16 G // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:49 AM

WUM mate just texted me stating that Macca is being placed in charge of the academy, Beardo is being demoted to coach, and Rafa will be manager. Dont believe any of it, but it almost sounds plausable.

  • 17 Rotonda heights // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:50 AM

”It is the longer-term elements of the role that the two parties are yet to agree on: Benitez wanting greater autonomy over transfer dealings and his backroom staff than either McClaren or predecessor Alan Pardew were permitted.”
    – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

These clowns have got to realise this is a proper manager we’re talking about here, unlike SM or AP who are just charlatans and frauds.

  • 18 hibbitt // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:51 AM

    Rotonda heights
if this doesn’t happen that’s us down no question if it does happen we some hope

  • 19 Rotonda heights // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:51 AM

    Hang about

surely SM was allowed simpson, schoenmaker etc plus a place on the board!!

  • 20 Laurent Robert 32 // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:52 AM

You couldn’t, hopefully the balance will be there, yes.

I posted his list of honours last night, substance to his methodology.

Let’s just hope this doesn’t all break down over something ridiculous like not having a free cap with his SD golf club set.

  • 21 Novocastrian66 // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:52 AM

If we do get Rafa the Gaffer, does anyone really think he will keep us up? Don’t get me wrong, we have to do something, but will he wave a magic wand and sort our problems?
    I’m not sure.

  • 22 toon22 // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:52 AM

If i was the fat man thats what i would do,why pay him off?
Making him do the academy means he works for his money,he either does it and gets results or he leaves in shame.
    Suits his buisness model imho.

  • 23 Rotonda heights // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:55 AM

wouldn’t mind SM doing the academy at all. May even be a good number 2. he was the best number 2 once, now he’s just a number 2

  • 24 hibbitt // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:58 AM

like yourself i have my doubts but it has to improve our chances its much better than doing nowt !!!!

  • 25 hate // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:58 AM

I’m not suprised at all. I expect McClaren to remain our “manager” till the end of the season, and us being relegated. Will it be deserved? Absolutely YES. Time to face the truth.

  • 26 WWSBRD // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:58 AM

I can see McClaren staying with the club, Id actually be quite happy with it tbh, I dont dislike him as I did with Pardew by the end hes just someone struggling

If he’d agree let him have the youth set up or stay on as coach for the first

  • 27 Blackley and Brownlie // Mar 10, 2016 at 9:58 AM

Stop flapping, folks (Ed). Wait and see.

  • 28 AncientC // Mar 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM

McClaren is contracted as the head coach, switching his appointment would mean a new contract. The only way McClaren could stay on to earn out his contact, is by Benitez being the Manager, with McClaren being his head coach.

  • 29 VanToonMan // Mar 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM

Assuming Rafa does become our manager – why was he not appointed before the 18 day break and trip to Spain?!

Would have been perfect time for him to assess the squad and implement some idea and tactics and two extra games for the players ot have gotten used to it.

  • 30 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Mar 10, 2016 at 10:04 AM

Radio Newcastle did “understand” that rafa would be “Manager” not “Head Coach”. And i have used alot of “quotations” in this “post”

  • 31 Rotonda heights // Mar 10, 2016 at 10:05 AM

    van toon man

because that would have involved forward planning

  • 32 ilovetoon8788 // Mar 10, 2016 at 10:18 AM
