Multiple Photos Of Rafa Benitez At Newcastle Today

With the news this afternoon that Rafa Benitez is already taking his first training session at Benton after he canceled the players’ day off – the former Liverpool coach is straight down to business as he tries to save Newcastle United from relegation – which will not be an easy task.

For those people getting home from work here are the pictures we’ve been able to pull together on Rafa’s sensational arrival at Newcastle.

We don’t use the word sensational often – but this is a sensational appointment by Newcastle United.

We assume he traveled in last night and his coaching team is already in place and includes Ian Cathro and goalkeeping coach Simon Smith from the former team.

Rafa doesn’t mess around and that will very quickly get through to the Newcastle players who need to shape up rather quickly .

Great!!

No words are needed with these photos of Rafa.

    Rotonda.

Just caught up with the news. Looks like my comment about you living in cloud cuckoo land regarding Rafa coming to NUFC, has been blown out of the water.
I’ll never be happier to make you a full and grovelling apology and to accept your superior football knowledge on the Rafa affair.

Have to say I’m surprised that where wasn’t a “Nigel Pearson replaces Rafa as top target” headline but I’m over the bloody moon about being wrong!

Now. Let’s stay in the league, Rafa.

Catchy must crying his eyes out and feeling upset about the sacking of mclown, he was a believer in clown.

He’s usually straight onto the blog during situations like this. During the pardew out era you saw him non stop and was soon on when mclown was appointed.

love this periscope view of training. Already a huge difference from that fitness and circle kick about of McLaren. Actually learning to pass the ball further than 5 meters for the first time this season.

That would mean he has to save us from relegation and then produce worse than McClaren next campaign.

Not sure that is even possible 🙂

The thing I’m curious about is how will the change affect Shelvey – especially since he is such a mood dependent player and he’s instrumental in our current midfield.

Toonheroes @22, I noticed that too. Not a single SD logo in any of the official shots. Maybe a coincidence or might be more to do with Ashley’s rumble with th government these last few days.

Aaaaaanyway lads ‘n lasses I can’t quite believe this has actually happened. Like in most abusive relationships, we’re so used to being the brunt of the big man’s shortcomings and always brace ourselves for the worst.
Today though, this smiling Spanish fella has turned up and suddenly our captor has loosened his grip, let us out in the garden and we’re all enjoying the sun on our skin for the first time in years. Some of us suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, but hopefully we’ll be given some love and passion from our new man to help us get over these horrible last 5 or 6 years

Made up rafa’s got them in for training. They’ve had a couple of days off already I think (Sunday and Monday?)

Get them in to meet the new manager then he goes and gets them training.

    Fcuking brilliant.

I watched the Periscope training session and had a chuckle that Rafa got the lads straight in and put them through their paces. Be interesting to see how they react to this proper kick up the ar5e.
It can only give a positive message, and let the players know that this is how the professional big boys do things. Work harder than anyone else and that’s the bare minimum the new boss expects

Rotunda you and i are both thrilled tonite. Cyber pints all round for all my NUFC brothers. And a few glasses of rioja tonite, fact!! At long last, a leader we can all unite behind. Ed, i dont blame charnley for the delay and said so during the week. If we had sacked steve and rafa had said no thanks….then charnley would have looked like an idiot. Give the sea change re tranfers, and the sackings, this was always going to take days. Well done Ashley for rafa and 80 mill, and well done charnley for getting the deal done. What a proud day for all of us.
