Newcastle Captain – Rafa Will Help Us – He’s A Great Manager

2:55 pm, Saturday, March 12th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 4 Comments

We haven’t heard much from Fab Coloccini in a while and he has been out injured, but he was back in training yesterday and it will be interesting to see if Rafa Benitez picks him for the game at Leicester City on Monday night.

The other question about Fabricio is whether he will be Rafa’s captain for the 10 game run-in to the season – which looks like it’s going to be a real nail-biter.

Fabricio ColocciniRafa Benitez is a great manager – he will help us

Fabricio has been talking on the Newcastle web-site today about the changes made yesterday at the club:

“We had good people here – the staff who were here, all of them were good people, so it is a strange emotion.” “But when things are going wrong, you have to change something and the club made the decision.”

“Now we have a great manager who has won a lot of things, who has a lot of experience, who has been in charge of very big teams like Real Madrid and Inter Milan, so I think he will help us.”

“I think his career speaks for itself. It’s exciting for us, and for the younger players as well because they can learn a lot from him.” “Hopefully we can understand the way he wants to play and try to win games, because the aim is to be in the Premier League next season.”

“The next 10 games will be massive because if we stay in the Premier League like we want to do, I think next season, with a manager with such big experience, it will be good.”

“But first we need to think about this season and try to win the points that we need to be in the Premier League next season.”

With Norwich getting a 0-0 draw at home to Manchester City today we will need to get something our of the game at Leicester and Norwich are now one point ahead of us in the table although we do have two games in hand – and one of them is against Manchester City at home as it turns out.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how Rafa has the team playing on Monday – although he’s likely to start in his usual 4-2-3-1 formation.

Realistically we have only a few games we have a small chance of getting any points from. Let’s hope Rafa can motivate our flops. Pity he didn’t arrive in January, giving him a chance to bolster our league 1 defence.
In Benitez we must trust, he’s the only hope we’ve got left.

Crumbs, crumbs. Well, perhaps crusts, crusts – that’s what we’ve been feasting on for the last couple of days. We’ve been gobbling-up these morsels like angry gulls at the seaside, whilst waiting for Manuel the Waiter to cast us a bag of greasy chips that’s full of nourishment and salvation.

I’m hoping for a banquet with lashings Daddies sauce.

Or even, with lashings of Daddies sauce.
