We are going down I believe. We have no one player who can score. We. Won’t survive but it was a good effort tonight. Just enjoy the last 9 games with rafa, who should have been appointed much earlier, as we won’t see a manager like him for a long long time after this relegation.

not certain players tho ww i just can’t sisko is terrible and we need 2 up front and the fact the manager gets the blame every time its about time the players get there very harsh treatment hopefully and not a second to soon we have a top manager at last so he can’t be blamed so who should get our ire? the players that have let us down for the last 5 years and them who bought them!!

infact booing each player might work in the reverse psychology way lol
but i can’t believe how the players and running of the club can be forgotten
lets face it macca has had a lot of stick the last few days but a top manager hasn’t changed the result

ok he hasn’t been here long but the same players with th attitude to work even harder still let us down!

its a joke i’d rather see a few “top” players dropped for youths tbh

I like Rafa’s interview and he looks like he will drop players if they screw the pooch. Sisko for me has been mediocre at best this past few month’s, I hate seeing him on his runs to watch him lose the ball over and over again.
But lets look at players we are missing, Krul for one, not saying Elliott has not done a bad job but Krul is special. Then just go through the defense, not one of them in my book are the starting four, I would love to see Rafa have Jonjo and Tiote in the middle with Winny and townend one the wings with Cisse and Doumba up front. There is some real pace there and players that can cross the ball and score some if needed.

Rafa loves his South American players by all accounts, que Mr Coloccini for the Derby, even he is better than back off Taylor, if we survive i have faith that Rafa can finally identify our defensive problems, and if we don`t survive which we do not deserve at this moment in time, then we had better get prepared for Nigel Pearson next season we ll know that the games we have coming up against teams around us are the key off course, its a battle royal, have we got those battlers? well so far this season , no we havn`t, Rafa earn your bit me old son.

I think we deserved atleast a draw out the game today. We had the better opportunities but we had the same old problems converting our chances! But I seriously thought we deserved to win the game. We should’ve had a penalty too.

I think we have a lot of championship players playing at this level. Lascelles Taylor dummett colback riviere gouffran are all championship level players. Anita sissoko colo are all off form or just terrible. We have only 3 or 4 players who are average premier league level.

No wonder we are so terrible. I just can’t see us surviving.

I had hoped for a win tonight and with optimism predicted a 2 -1 win.
However, after watching just another continuation of the drivel that has been served up for months/years I have finally come to the conclusion that we do not have much hope.
What hope is there – no quality goalscorer return from injury, no quality defensive players to plug the holes at the back.
Same poor players -I doubt very much whether they can step up a level at all.
Defeat by the Mackems and I think that is us done for.

2 things I hope Rafa learned from this game Sissy is trash and this was actually one of his better games today so says all you need to know about him 2 Wijnaldum is not a CAM nor LM nor RM he needs to be a CM when he played there that is where he is most effective if he makes these 2 changes for Sunderland and whomever is healthy enough to replace Saylor then I think we can win until then we are square pegs in round holes

Can’t say I expected anything more from the game than a quality committed performance.
We got that – and away from home at that.
We limited Leicester to one shot on target.

If we can continue to perform like that, I am confident we will get enough points to survive.
I reckon Rafa can do it – there are solid grounds for optimism.

I think he will most likely keep us up. We have players such as Mitrovich, Widjnaldum, Perez, De Jong, Doumbia, and Cisse to pick a goalscoring pair from. De Jong and Doumbia for example, might be his best bet, but there are options, and we need Collocini and Mbemba and hopefully Haidarra back. He only has to get us playing more effectively than Sunderland and Norwich remember, not Leicester away, although we matched them more often than not, and were probably worth a point.

I can’t believe people blaming and slagging Sissoko. He is the only one who looked lively and was trying to do something last night. The game against Leicester was always difficult and most, including myself, predicted a negative result prior to kickoff. But the main reason we lost last night is because we were poor upfront and were nervous to finish the ball off.We had more than one good chances to score and salvage something but lack of sharpness & cleverness upfront cost us.Disappointed by some players like Anita,Perez…,but happy with the display and we can improve game by game under the new boss as I have big Faith in him.Whether you like it or not though,Sissoko had a very good game and was man of the match in our side.Did not understand why Benitez kept him on left side for long.He looked a bit uncomfortable in that side, despite looking lively.
He looked more threatening on the right side and I felt he might do something worthwhile on the right side.Overall, encouraging performance and like I always say, without Sissooko, this team will not do anything right & won’t survive!

I dont understand people saying we are going down ,
We are only 1 point behind 4th bottom , we have to finish 1 point above 3rd bottom , there is a maximum of 27 POINTS LEFT , Why is getting 1 point above sunderland that difficult ?? come on lads . 27 points on the board , from what ive seen tonight , we will be fine
ffs the bloke has only been here 3 days man , give him a chance . he will put it right , and we will stay up .

Colback made two big mistakes last night .
First he gave away needless free kick where he should not have fouled Mahrez.Second,he was beaten and out-jumped in the air by Vardy where he should have done better to prevent the ball from heading.
The only way I was disappointed by Benitez yesterday was for keeping Sissoko on the left side for the whole 90 minutes.

Not the revolution we were calling for but a few marginal improvements. Their goal came down to a combination of errors; Colback for making a stupid challenge, it was a soft free kick for the ref to give, but Colback gave him the opportunity by needlessly over committing. Wijnaldum was marking Okazaki when the free kick was taken, but both he and Lascelles drifted off their man following the trajectory of the ball both in the first and second phases. Colback was badly positioned. You make that many mistakes in one passage of play and you are bound to concede. Would we have conceded that goal with Colo/Mbemba/Dummet playing? I doubt it.

Anita was poor last night, would struggle to say he was even neat and tidy. Sissoko started brightly, but then went on to flatter to deceive. It wasn’t until around 70minutes that a wide player actually put in a good cross – Townsend. I think I get why Sissoko started on the left, based on the first few minutes it looked like we were going to press Simpson’s first touch far more than the rest of the back line, and therefore we used Sissoko’s pace to close down quicker. It didn’t work for most of the match though. It also hampered our own attacking intent as we constantly narrowed the pitch, or delayed the play when attacking down that flank because Sissoko needed to cut inside or get it on his right. Perez did okay, nothing great, but he put the hard yards in. Likewise Gini. Shelvey was poor, although it almost seemed he was under direction to launch the ball over the top as early as possible. Far more creativity needed and better delivery when in good areas.

Mitro put himself about, and as always provided a focal point for our buildup play. Was involved in a lot of our good build up play, but was feeding off scraps when it came to chances himself. Not sure what was going on with Mitro and Sissoko when Sissoko took him out. If Sissoko hadn’t called then he should have not been there, if he had he should have been furious with Mitro for not listening to the call, and Mitro should be lambasted for not getting out the way.

Substitutions confused me a bit. Not sure why Perez came off, it limited our next option to a like for like or an act of desperation. As it was, desperation won out with Doumbia replacing Shelvey. Surely De Jong should have replaced Mitro as the platform to play off, then Doumbia for Sissoko moving Perez back wide.

Anyway, Rafa only joined 3 days ago, get another week under the belt and hopefully we can start to pick up some wins from here on out. 1 point off safety with all the other bottom 6 still to play.

Veltman…..Sissoko was bang average yesterday and incredibly frustrating. We would have scored if he could make a simple straight pass….he could not.

    I had enough of him.

I assume you are talking about when he got in the box and could have either cut it back to Townsend, or played across the face to Mitro. If he had a better first touch and a half decent left foot he could have had a pop himself as well. In the end, it was a shocking pass, and probably the best opportunity we had forged all game, only to be wasted.

For all of Benitez’s attributes I cannot see him getting us out of this mess.

Leicester looked poor last night but were still a yard and a half faster than us to the ball until they decided to time waste.

We are not going to score enough goals to keep us up need at least two per game as we struggle to a keep a clean sheet at the moment.

    For te record this season;

Scored more than 1 goal 7 times.
    Scored 3 or more twice
conceded 3 or more 8 times
conceded 4 or more 3 times
scored directly from free kick 0 times
    penalties scored 1 from 1
    sendings off 4
players sent of against us 0

only 1 midfielder has scored for us Wiljanum with 8
Tiote, Colback, Sissoko and Shelvey have not managed a goal between them.

Derby day lost 6 in a row last 5 clean sheets – Debuchy last scorer.

The facts above sadly make sorry reading and the reason I cannot seeing us staying up!!

might be lucky to get another win

I feel we will win next 2 games, I really like what I saw last night. I haven’t seen Sisso tried so hard like that before. Rafa only in charge for couple of days and already made the difference, now he gets 6 days to prepare and then long break before norwich.
Rafa probably need to re-call Arma, stop saying he is better with coventry for development sake, we need all hands on deck right now, a goalscorer is 1st priority and Arma will gain a lot of benefit playing with 1st team and under Rafa, even if we get relegated he will play in the championship with most of these guys anyway.

    well well
I don’t know what to think.
We did OK but never looked like scoring against a poor Leicester side tonight. Sadly lack confidence in front of goal – frightened to shoot
we huffed and puffed without looking like we would score. Cannot see another goal coming unless it comes of someones backside.
Still saying that we were a tad unlucky noy to pick up a point
Their goal Vardy offside when heading ball back across – but that bloody idiot Colback gave a pointless stupid free kick away that led to the goal.
Should of had a penalty deliberate arm to the ball from sissoko shot.
Both decisions we have got to learn to be more vocal and complain about the incident.
Elliot – 7 did OK might of been able to come for the header from Vardy that led to their goal.
Colback – 1 for the stupid foul that led to the goal.
Lasclles – 7 going to be a good player with experience
Taylor – 3 backed off to much and let Leicester run at him – distribution poor.
Janmaat – 6 did OK defending – didn’t see him as much going forward
Sissoko – 4 and thats for the last 15 minutes
Wiljanum – 6 started well but faded
Anita – 7 did well but tired
Shelvey – 5 thought he was poor another that did not come alive until near the end – did n’t pick up their runners.
Perez – 6 drifted in and out the game to much
Mitrovich – 5 Oh I would like to see him head the ball, close control poor tonight.
subs Townsend ok but did not look fit
    as with de Jong
Doumbia – not on long enough

    Agree with those on here

I thought tonight we saw the other side of Shelvey to an extent.

He worked hard most game and broke up a couple of attacks and he was comfortable in possession and looked after the ball for his first few touches but he tried too much for the champagne passes.

To be fair. That was the league leaders. Leicester Or not they are there for a reasons

I really don’t think Leicester were poor last night, I thought we were better than we normally are (especially away from home).

I also don’t think Colback should be slated for that foul that led to the goal, Mahrez was hitting the ground at every opportunity looking for a free kick, there was nowt in the actual challenge.

As for the hand ball incident, the lad could have caught the ball in both hands and thrown it out to Vardy and we would not have got a penalty. Some games you just know you will get nothing from the officials.

Vardy was offside when he headed the ball back for their goal, If it had been us the flag would have been up before a head touched the ball.

I really do think that in some games the officials work to a brief set up to keep the league interesting for the rest of the world, it’s a money thing.

I do seriously wonder what people were expecting last night. Did you really expect that with the players we have, after just three days in charge, we’d be able to go to the league leaders, at their ground, and win? Seriously??

It was NEVER going to happen. So the only thing we can judge on if not the score, is the performance. And is there anyone here seriously saying that this performance was worse than our other away day performances? We limited the runaway leaders to one shot on goal and the rest of the night they were kept in check.

Rafa knows our problems are two fold, conceding and scoring. The priority is defending here, because even if you get the team scoring 1 or 2 a game you won’t pick up points you’re conceding 2 or 3 a game. But keep a clean sheet and you only need to score one goal to win. I think we saw a more solid defensive performance last night, which bodes well.

I see a lot of people complaining about Anita and Colback being in squad, who would have played LB if he didn’t if everyone else is injured? I thought we were pretty solid as a team for his first game. Leicester never really looked like scoring, scored a rather lucky goal imo. Massive improvement in a few days compared to mcclaren’s game plan.

Let’s be a little patient and he’ll get us out of trouble. Sunderland and palace will drop!

All season there has been shouts for tall and physical CB’s – if we had that type of player so many results including last night could have been different. Taylor like Krul has had injury problems and may have lost some ” spring” and athleticism. More effective attacking of the ball with headers that then clear the penalty area ( last night they didn’t and that led to the goal ) reduce attaching threats . Sort that defensive frailty out and results will start to look different.

The first half was terrible. Aimless long balls forward. Sideways passing and numerous back passes to Elliott.

The second half was better. Short, quick passes. The dynamics of the team changed when Anita went off and Gini moved infield. De Jong and Townsend although both not 100% match fit did provide better attacking options.

How anybody voted for Shelvey I don’t know. In the first half he rarely, if ever, looked up to pass the ball forward. I give up counting on the number of aimless hopeful balls he thumped forward.

To me the MOTM for us was Lascelles. He looks like he is going to be a great centre back.

Full marks to Leicester who do look like worthy champions. They also dispel the myth that a club needs to spend millions to win the league or even remain in it.

The difference between the two teams other than the points accumulated , their respective positions in the league and the amount of money spent (wasted ?) by each club is they have confidence and we lack it.

Sadly, the one attribute that nearly all the pundits who know him say is that he lacks good man management and motivational skills.

We shall see whether he suddenly discovers these attributes in the next ten games because if he doesn’t we are relegated and he is off back to the North West.
