Poll – Can Newcastle Beat Norwich City On Saturday?

If Newcastle are to survive in the Premier League this season then we have to vastly improve our away form,  which has seen us lose 12 of the 15 road games so far this season.

We visit Norwich City on Saturday and we simply must not lose that game – and if we can win it then we would be on level points with Norwich.

If we can win the game by more than two goals we would go above Norwich in the league table with a game in hand on the Canaries.

But since we have only scored 7 goals in our 15 away games that could be difficult.

    previous post:About Benitez’ input

That comment by Townsend shows that input into transfers had already shifted somewhat more to the coach /manager than previous windows.

It is a bit like Lennon & McCartney songs , you can generally tell who was the main inspiration behind each one.

I think Shelvey and Townsend were SM signings and Saivet may have been Carr’s last bit of input.

Everywhere Benitez has been he has always brought good Spanish players into his sides.
I think he still has his finger on the pulse of Spanish football especially after his time at Real Madrid. If Ayoze Perez is anything to go by a few more young Spaniards (and even some established stars) wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen!

Can someone explain Ed’s goal difference comment? We are 4 goals behind Norwich so winning 3 – nil still leaves us behind them on goal difference. How does he say if we win by more than 2 we will go above them? Do away goals count as double??

NZGeordieviaAfrica @2 – Simple maths my friend – for every goal we score our goal difference increases by 1 and Norwich’s decreases by 1. So we only have to win by 2 clear goals (that’s all 🙂 ) to become equal on goal difference it then comes down to goals scored and off the top of my head I don’t know who has scored more goals.

I voted draw. That’s as optimistic as I can be. I agree that the Saivet signing was probably the last chance for Carr to get his snout in the trough.

Just checked they have scored 3 more goals than us so Ed is correct we need to win by 3 clear goals to go above them – simples 🙂
