Elliot is easily the most injury prone 2nd choice goalkeeper the club has had, in my years of following the club.

Every 3 or 4 weeks they are patching him up and putting him to bed with a cup of cocoa. Okay, Elliot has done well in the games he has played, but he is unreliable as a number 2.

Elliot needed to be cleared out at the end of the season, if he can’t stay able bodied when needed to cover as a number 2, how would he do as first choice?

Krul has 12 months left on his deal at the end of the season. Elliot should be moving on this summber, but he is injured and somebody had the bright idea of giving him a contract until 2019!

We are lumbered with Elliot, so it looks like nothing much is going to change in the goalkeeping department. The club will not get much for Krul – coming back from injury and 12 months left on his deal, so Krul will be given a new contract.

Whichever division we are in next season, we will be starting it nursing Krul back to form, with Elliot in the fitness room attempting to get fit for when Krul breaks down again. The seat on the exercise bike in the gym will rarely get cold , with the pair of cripples we call goalkeepers jockeying for ‘fitness’.

Have you ever seen such a sham. (This is only the goalkeepers, where do you start on the other 10 positions)

I would like to know who gave Elliot a contract until 2019 and decided we didn’t need a back up for Elliot after the Krul injury. Taylor must be fancying his chances of a new contract if Elliot is deserving of one.

Now if Charnley had any sense and Rafa knew of any good keepers whose contracts could be bought out now, then we could sign a keeper to at least replace young Freddy Woodman as now second choice.

Sod’s law could intervene again and this is an opportunity to be prepared for the eventuality but…..

Butland is a good egg isn’t he, good player and one I thought we should of gotten when the Stoke interest came about. Missed opportunity there

Not sure why so many have no faith in Darlow, I think he will do fine at least match Elliott in goal but time will tell

dnt think Darlow is good, i rather play woodman

i was suprised somebigger teams didnt go in for butland he had been touted for a while as a good keeper

as for darlow if it hadnt been for an ealry season injury it looked like he was going to be back up to krul under mclaren

under rafa we will be more disciplined defensivley so that should help him with any nerves he has over 120 first team games most in the championship

Yeah I was surprised he didn’t go to a top 4 team to be back up, less than 5 mill I think he went for

Aye Darlow was very highly rated before coming to us (similar level to how Butland was talked about tbf) and he was ahead of Elliott at the start of the season. He should do fine, certainly faster than Elliott

His debut for was in the league was with 30 minutes notice was t it, Elliott got crocked during the warm up and he had to be thrown in no?

lechelles is starting to settle into the back 4 now
its not an ideal time but we wont know if these players are any good till we play them

  • 12 WWSBRD // Mar 30, 2016 at 2:54 PM

Exactly personally I don’t really rate Elliott and this season I expected him to be behind Darlow which he would of been but for Darlows injury

I expect him to be better than Elliott I might be proved wrong but it’s what I expect

Lascelles has looked quite good recently needs a Mbemba beside him rather than a Saylor though

i was more than happy when we bought both darlow and lescheles if they can come into the first team either as back up or regulars
add to them shelvey townsend dummet our british contingent is going up

i would look to offload elliot as soon as we can he is one of the perma crock bracket
and the sooner we shift the perma crocks the better
