It looks like Rafa Benitez is moving in with what could be his first signing for Newcastle United and it’s young 16 year-old Spanish playmaker Luis Vacas.
There are various reports in Spain that Luis Vacas is now on Tyneside and having a trial at the club and training at Benton, with a decision to be made by the club at the end of his trial period.
The report indicates the 16 year-old youngster has impressed Newcastle scouts, so it’s not completely clear if the recommendation came directly from the Newcastle manager.
Vacas is currently on the books of Spanish league side Seneca CF, and the 16 year-old is said to be impressing during his trial on Tyneside.
16 year-old Spanish playmaker Luis Vacas.
Spanish outlet Cordoba Deporte is reporting Vacas could become Benitez’s first signing, if the teenager continues to impress.
If Rafa does stay at Newcastle, it is likely that more Spanish players will come to Tyneside because he brought in a number of good Spanish players during his six years at Liverpool.
He brought in both senior players and youth players to Merseyside – the senior players including Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso and Pepe Reina.
We wonder if this means that Rafa is still thinking long-term as the manager of Newcastle, even if we are relegated.
We cannot find too much information on Luis Vacas.
