Alan Shearer Disturbed By First Half Performance By Magpies

It looks like Alan is over here in the states watching the Masters – and he didn’t like what he saw in the first half – that’s for sure.

Who did?

It didn’t get any better in the second half and we were outclassed, outplayed, outfought, outgunned – out everything!

We were a complete and utter shambles of a football team.

Preparation for the championship needs to start NOW and if Ashley wants to stay on (I don’t know why on earth he’d want to when he knows himself he’s ruined this club and that he’s acted too late, surely he must be tired and sick of this) he needs to start preparing by getting rid of charnley, Carr and moncur they’ve been nothing but trouble for this club and surely he can set see that he’s wasted so much money due to their decisions.

Players I’d keep for next season:

The rest I’d get rid of. If they don’t get bought then just release them

Slow down Ed. One post every minute isn’t too useful.

Add Aarons and Gibson to that list (if Aarons is willing to renew his contract, wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t)

I had nurtured the faint hope that Benitez might be coaxed to stay on if the players at least showed some fight. On today’s showing there’s no chance of that.

So we look at some other lucky purchases Carr has had, however his purchases in the last 18 months have been quite shocking, our back four are truly shocking, we are going down and it is not the fault of any of the managers, it is clearly the fault of allowing Carr so much power and influence on the back of a few good purchases. I am sorry to say this but Carr and the management system employed in NUFC have been nothing but criminal. The structure of the hierarchy and organizational system is wrong, which results in players being bought on the basis of potential sell on value, we needed a whole new defense and Colo should have been allowed to leave, Ashley does not seem to understand that this is not a business arena where you can buy cheap and sell on later, he will have hundreds of thousands of people who hate him for ever. there is 1 word for this scenario we have and it is Mismanagement

Culture killed the club, the minute it was acceptable to drop out of cups, aspire to be good enough just to survive and at all cost avoid europe was when were doomed to fail.

Sportsmen are supposed to be competitive, winning is winning, you do anything and everything to beat your opponent, all that went out the window when we were booking holidays in advance of cup exits.

I’m going on record now and saying we’ll most likely only get a mid table finish next year in championship. If they couldn’t find motivation in this league then they won’t in 2nd tier.

I think the Club is concussed and has a head injury.
I know I do from banging my head against the wall.

In Boxing and Rugby the fight or game would be stopped and a full assessment of the situation would be undertaken by external Medical Professionals.
That could take weeks so in the meantime the team could go to Spain for a holiday ( something many fans can only dream of ) before returning fully invigorated and ready to rumble.

Me – I can only take Aspirin and after today’s showing that will be quite a dose.

The first names on the team sheet., speaks volumes really.

    Sports Dire

I think other pundits, fans , press are long past caring.
    It’s so bad its pathetic.
And Charnley sat there today smirking like a cheshire cat. He should have been down to the dressing room at half time and resigned in front of the players – and they should have reciprocated by paying up their own contracts, not to the club but the SBR foundation.

Couldn’t agree more with you. Players not being motivated to win stuff is not new in PL. That is the very reason the league has lost its position as the best league. Most players are there only for the money. They are paid so much that theey struggle to run because they’re wallet is to heavy in their pockets.
