Emotional Rob Elliot Reacts Last Night On Twitter

Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot reacted last night on his Twitter account to Aguero’s offside goal, Vurnon Anita’s fabulous equalizer 17 minutes later and then overall to what was a great performance from the lads and should have been all 3 points.

    hibbitt,
As unlikely as it seemed and everyone saying they’d take a point before the game, we needed to win last night unless we can win our next four.

JFA – I understand what you are saying but if we target wins in our home games (hopefully Spurs will have nothing to play for by then) and away at Villa we could get to 38 points which you, hopefully, would be enough!

Really really hope and pray the games the grinning loon Taylor played instead of lascelles, where ST was so, so poor don’t come back to haunt us.

Great display. Rafa really making a difference now. Our composure and defensive shape is so much better and so are the effort levels. I had us down for a win. Sadly i reckon makems will get 41 points this season and we will get 40. however, until last nite i felt sunderland were a better team than us. Now we look far more positive. We need wenger to motivate arsenal badly at the weekend. If they beat arsenal then it could be curtains for us. Well done in particular to anita ( a new solution at right back), lascelles and sissoko.

1.45am kick over here but worth getting out of bed for.Lots of commitment, desire etc also confidence and belief returning. The game would have been all over if it was played a few weeks previous when that city goal was allowed to stand. The players just got on with it,no heads dropped and thoroughly deserved the equalizer.I was astonished when no flag was put up as it’s one of the very worst off side decisions I’ve seen for I don’t know how long. The lineman involved should be demoted for incompetence,if he couldn’t see a player at least a yard off side inside the box when he has a full view across the pitch then he’s not up to the job.Overall a very encouraging performance which continues to give me hope and as long as the players leave everything on the pitch we have a chance to escape the drop.
