Youngster – Benitez Wants Me Learn – Be A Better Player

Ayoze Perez seems to have benefited since his countryman Rafa Benitez joined Newcastle on March 11th, in what was a stunning appointment by Newcastle.

But even Rafa is having trouble getting this Newcastle team out of trouble, although in the last two games Newcastle have looked a lot more like a Rafa Benitez team – hard working, compact and well organized.

Let’s hope the lads keep up that form in the final four games of this season and we will have a chance of survival – even though it’s still against the odds.

Ayoze Perez in action against Swansea

Perez has started a number of games under Benitez and the 22 year-old says he has certainly benefited from Rafa joining the club.

On Tuesday night it was like the nights of old at Newcastle, when our lads battled from the first whistle to the last against Manchester City, got a well deserved point and we could have even won the game with a little bit of luck.

The players were applauded off the field at the end of the game for what was  the most work we have seen from a Newcastle team for a long time.

This is what the Spanish U21 player has said about the team and Rafa:

“We are playing as a team,” “We are one, the fans and us.” “It’s a good feeling. We have to keep going in this way. We are closer now and we need to keep fighting.”

“His influence is really important. In just a few weeks, I’m learning a lot.” “It’s important. We speak the same language. He always wants me to learn new things and be a better player.”

“Personally, I felt really good. We fought together and it’s a good feeling seeing the fans behind us.” “It’s really nice. We have worked really well.”

It could well be an unchanged side for tomorrow against Rafa’s former club Liverpool, but you never know with teh 56 year-old, but he will have a game plan and the aim is to win this game for the first time at Anfield for 22 years.

We can do it.
