We Have To Keep Going – Still Too Many Mistakes

It’s still going to be touch and go as to whether Newcastle cans survive in the Premier League but 5 points from the last three games could be massive for us since we never do too well against Swansea, Manchester City and at Anfield – so that could bode well for the future.

While Rafa Benitez was happy at the point, he still bemoans Newcastle giving away a goal on the road at the start of the game – this time after just 68 seconds when Daniel Sturridge scored and at that time it looked like Southampton all over again.

Rafa Benitez waves to Newcastle fans at end of the game

But Newcastle staged a fantastic comeback on the second half to make it 2-2 though Papiss Cisse and Jack Colback and with some luck we could even have won it.

This is what Rafa said after the game:

“We have to keep going,”

“I have told the players it is important to understand that the reaction is only part of the way, and that it is more important not to make mistakes and allow the other teams to go ahead at the beginning of games.”

“You never know how important the point will be. We have to do our job in the other games.”

“The reaction of the team shows they still believe. Hopefully the next games, the fans will continue to show their support against Crystal Palace and we can get more points.”

Here are the three games left this season and we somehow have to try to win all three and get all 9 points if we are to survive.

We need some help….I just hope mackems get beaten today. That will put pressure back on them.

Norwich have some really hard games and I am not as worried zbout them.

Just watched motd again and Shelvey comes on and just doesn’t look interested.
Lost the ball when he was through but just jogs back.
    We can’t carry anyone

Aye, watched motd too and am surprised Shelvey somehow managed to get 7 votes on Ed’s best MOTM poll! Clearly some wise arses having a laugh!

I think Rafa is working on the mental and motivational state of a number of players. His results with Sissoko, Townsend and a few others is showing clear results. His work on Winaldum may be starting to show some progress as he looked better yesterday. Still a way to go with Jonjo…
