These Were Newcastle’s Best Players At Aston Villa

Vurnon Anita was declared fit before the game yesterday against Aston Villa and held onto his right-back position, even through regular right=back Daryl Janmaat was fit again.

Vurnon justified Rafa Benitez’ faith in him by putting in another Man of the Match performance at Villa  and Anita secured 20% of the vote.

A close second on 17% was another defender – Chancel Mbemba – with his center-back partner Jamaal Lascelles a close third on 16%.

Andros Townsend came in next at 14% and the impressive goalkeeper Karl Darlow was next in line on 12%,  so four defenders in the top five in our Man of the Match poll.

Interesting indeed.

It was Newcastle’s second clean sheet in a row, but we couldn’t score to get the 3 points and therefore dropped two precious points in the game and also two points to Sunderland who beat Chelsea 3-2 at home.

Sunderland will survive if they can beat Everton on Wednesday night at the Stadium of Light, otherwise it will go down to the final game on Sunday afternoon.

Newcastle are at home to Spurs and Sunderland are away at Watford.

Not ignoring you jim. I’ve replied over the page, but Ed pounced when i least expected it. 😉

I picked Mbemba for the record. How many saves did Darlow make? The only one i can recall is the offside one. That’s what ya get for watching behind the sofa i suppose. 😉 When the daleks first arrived, i was about six i think. I actually used to watch from behind the sofa! 😉

Content yourselves that you all vented on a blog rather than actually do anything of note. And yes, I include myself in the “we deserve it, you all deserve it” mantra.

We have all collectively failed our club and should be ashamed of ourselves.

    Peace out f**kers.

On what planet is this the fans fault? You just don’t get unconditional love, do ya? I pity you rather than anything else, but you’re in good company there. It’s been done to death so i can’t be assed. Do what ya want, but nobody is taking you even remotely serious. We all know who’s to blame, and it ain’t the fans. Get a grip lad.
