There is no leadership at Newcastle with people like Lee Charnley so out of their depth it’s embarrassing to see just how incompetent the man is in his job.
We have been promised a complete review of the season by Mike Ashley – whose nine years at the club have seen Newcastle continue to fall from grace – but we wonder when his review will be completed and those responsible for Newcastle’s latest demise will be held accountable?
If 2009 – the last time we were relegated – is any guide Ashley may complete that review before the season starts in the Championship in early August.
People running Newcastle can never be accused of having initiative or being decisive.
The “leaders” at Newcastle
Heads need to roll soon, but something tells us that will not happen and maybe even Lee Charnley will be retained.
If that happens we may need to check which teams are in the English third division.
Mike Ashley is said to be loyal to those who work for him, but he may be making the cardinal management mistake of putting loyalty above ability and talent of his people.
Certainly his record at Newcastle suggests that – it’s been simply pathetic and sad was the day he bought Newcastle United.
[table “32” not found /]# Championship
* After 37 games
Our only hope is Rafa Benitez, but the signs are that the 56 year-old doesn’t want to stay at Newcastle – he may have seen the light – the club is rotten and in a complete mess from top to bottom.
Mike Ashley is responsible for that, plus the incompetent people he keeps appointing to lead the club like Lee Charnley and Joe Kinnear and others we wont even mention – like Dennis Wise.
Head coaches like John Carver and Steve McClaren are lower level Championship managers at best – so how did they ever end up managing Newcastle?
And once again the Newcastle fans have been completely screwed – they are the ones who have to deal with the pain, suffering and disappointment and yes – the shame of relegation for a great club.
It will be another long summer (we’ll not say hot since it’s Newcastle) after the club is again the laughing stock of England.
Things will be at a very low ebb for Geordie fans this summer – the lowest for a long time.
That’s after we will miss out on a payment next May of between £100M and £180M because of sheer incompetence by those running Newcastle.
Newcastle would have probably got around £140M if we had finished in mid-table in the PL next season – about double what we will get this month.
Clubs like Burnley, Middlesbrough, Leicester, Watford, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth – all second division clubs and worse a few short years ago are now richer than we are and in the Premier League.
It’s simply shameful and almost criminal the way the Newcastle club has been destroyed.

i think we might see ashleys true colours at the end of the season,if he wants this club to be successful and profitable,he needs keep rafa and give him carte blanche to do what he wants and you to go thru the board like a dose of salts, not necessarily throwing money around but letting someone who knows football inside out sort this out from the ground up.
rafa may want to leave and theres nothing can be done about that, but i get a little impression and hope he would like build, create something,a legacy, whether ashley is willing to back this to make this club worth selling for a lot of money in the future is a different question, otherwise theres every chance when ashley sells up at some stage, this club would of cost him a lot money and be worth not much more then he paid for it if not less by languishing in the lower leagues every few years becoming the yo-yo club people love to hate and laughing at….put your money where ya mouth is ashley and sort this shit out IF you genuinely mean what was said this time last season….we all doubt this will happen as he cant be trusted to do the right thing for this club or fans….just does the right thing for his wallet.

I wonder if Collocini will show his face next Sunday. I don’t think we’ll ever see him again. I wonder if Rafa will wave goodbye, that might set the crowd off. If they’ve got any sense they should be announcing that they’re trying their best to keep him for next season but we won’t hear anything at all from them.

Comment #49Jib Jibberish – calling me thick -hahaha good laugh there.
Your recent offerings -a report that two Dutchmen speak Dutch – wow – what language did you think they learnt in Holland from babes to adulthood – Chinese. Duh.
Next one – if Rafa trusted Ashley.
Where have you been the last decade – can anybody trust Mr Tubbs.
Ask the sweatshop workers in the Far East, ask the zero hours employees, ask the USC workers, ask the Rangers supporters, and the people officiating at employment tribunals.
Yes – he’s a man that we can all trust. Divvy.

Jay,
The trouble is though that there has been no plans for relegation or so we are told.
The Fans Forum was held on Monday 22 February 2016
At that time (11 weeks and 12 matches ago) the club said they hadn’t considered relegation it is true.
Nine days after the forum Rafa Benitez was announced as manager . I think it can be taken that the club do now have plans for relegation !
You are so dim it’s breathtaking !

Comment #52See there are a few reports of Benny flying from Paris Orly to Barcelona – to check out the facilities.
How can these people from probably the biggest club in the world be on the verge of signing Benny – surely they must take into account what that top manager -King Percy said about him.

I was worried that may happen when we still had Mclaren is that if we went down Colo would have became caretaker manager !
If we are confirmed relegated on Wednesday then the club needs to have what is happening with Rafa nailed down by Sunday and a statement needs to be made
I seriously doubt this will happen mind you

Comment #57I just cannot see the club making any announcements before the season ends about Benitez. They would probably be correct in not doing so. However -first thing on Monday morning they could announce their position.
Might see a Mr Tubbs -trust me type statement -on Sky – before the match though.

You are dimmer than a 1W light bulb if you think these people have got a well thought out plan in the event of relegation, they can’t even organise pre season friendlies. How has he got a structured plan when he has to sack the goons who ran the club in to the ground, who’s going to advise him now. Peter “yes Mike” Beardsley or will we see Llambias back to bring in another lower league yes man, clueless Jib as are you if you think otherwise.

Comment #71WeirdlyI think it’ll be the club that breaks from Rafa, not the other way around. Rafa is a man who wants to build something. He was very unpopular even before he arrived at chelsea, inter and madrid. I think the size of the fanbase and the fact we love andsupport him will probably stand for something!
The club on the other hand are stupid enough to chance their hand with a cheaper option

Comment #74Jail—saturdays performance was no different to the last 4 or 5 . then only difference on saturday was we failed to get the goal we normally get to win the game. Colbeck being the guilty party blasted what should have been the winner over the bar . We know chances are few and far between, raffa knows that due to our lack of creativity in the box and a lack of a top goal moocher., we had to take our chance when it came – we didnt . that was our 3 points gone, but the setup was the same , slow start, play a waiting game and change things after the break , hes done that in every one of the last 6 games , it worked coz we took our chance and scored the goal , on saturday we didnt . Things would have looked a lot brighter if we had taken the only chance apart from mitro, which seemed to bounce high and a bit awkward so give him the benifit of the doubt with that one, we had , but i think the performance was typical of the last 5. we can still put this right on sunday obviously only if the macks slip up.

Comment #77Thought mitros was the better chance as he had time to think, he just made the wrong decision, really with the keeper rushing out he should have gone around him.
I like mitro, i think he’ll be a good player but for me at the moment he’s no better than someone like chris martin, obviously Mitro will develop but at the moment all he offers is hold up play (which is good to be fair)
I really do think Armstrong would have offered something different, even just off the bench. If vardy has shown us anything it is that pace is transferable throughout the leagues

Yeah i post the odd comment, although not as much as in the past. Hows life?
Very relevant songs, but we are trying to make raffa stay, so we probably need more positive suggestions.
I thought of “Stay with me” – by Rod stewart, but he kicks her out later in the song, so maybe not 😀

Comment #79Why do people get so wound up before they even know what’s going to happen? Can’t recall Ashley saying he won’t sack the board after this debacle. I think he will myself, but i don’t know that. Haven’t heard Rafa say he’s leaving either, but it seems people already have us stuck with the clowns, without Rafa and in division one next season – all before we’re even relegated! 😉 In one breath Ashley is a money grabbing scrooge, in the next he’s so nice he’s prepared to laugh off 80m quid squandered and relegation, which will cost a fortune, and forgive those responsible. To Ashley, NUFC is a business. It is now a failed business, thanks to an inept board. I expect them all to be sacked or shifted to other far less important positions in his SD Falkland Islands branch – but i don’t know that.

Comment #80Let’s be fair, we’ve been in the bottom three most of the season, and there for very good reason. I always said that we’d go down but wishful thinkers thought otherwise, or they don’t see a poor side when they see one.
Relegation is terrible for our club but if we can’t compete in the premier league we’ll just have to accept championship football.
At least all those tacky SD adverts won’t be beamed around the world.
