Here’s One Player Very Impressed With The “Superb” Benitez

Jonjo Shelvey was dropped by manager Rafa Benitez quite early on in Rafa’s short nine weeks at the club.

But don’t think the former Swansea midfielder bears any grudges at all towards Rafa, whom he says has brought a togetherness to the squad and has done a great job since he’s been on Tyneside.

Jonjo has said Rafa’s been superb with every single Newcastle player.

OK – sign him up!

Jonjo Shelvey – Benitez has been superb with all the players

Here what Jonjo has said in the Chronicle today:

“Rafa has come in and done a great job.” “He’s been superb and every single one of the players are working their socks off in training.”

“It has been about coming together and getting three points in games.” “He has instilled togetherness in the squad.”

“Everyone was coming into training with a smile on their face which is what you want.” “That has seen us through the last few weeks in terms of getting results.”

“We have hung out in games and seen games out.”

We are hoping that if Rafa does decide to stay – which seems up in the air still -= then he can start getting the best out of Shelvey and certainly Jonjo could be a very important player for us in the Championship next season.

But to get back into the side, the 23 year-old will have to follow whatever Rafa is telling him to do to improve his game.

Jonjo is one of three of the four players signed in January that haven’t been used much by Rafa.

The only player the new manager has started is Andros Townsend – and he’s scored four goals and had two assists since joining us from Spurs – tomorrow’s opponents at St. James’ Park.

How bout slowin’ down to 90 Ed. We’re relegated.

“I Will Always Love You”. Great song Ibiza, written and sung by Dolly Parton, as a sincere tribute and heart felt thank you to her early mentor and it must be said, far less talented on stage partner, Porter Wagoner. Who responded by suing her, with at least partial success, for 50% of her future earnings, and then burning through it on women and liquor, as if to remind us just how lovely people really are.

I’ve no enthusiasm for tomorrow’s match, the season is dead for me, the next few months might rekindle it depending on what happens but…………………….!!!!!!!!

Yeah well Jonjo, maybe work a little harder and get yourself in elite athlete shape. Nobody expects Kante levels of mobility, speed and stamina, but you’re plainly not giving it your all to become the best you can be. Talent only gets you so far.

David Beckham’s asthmatic and he still put in the graft. Don’t become another Huddlestone.

Yesterday this link to a MUST READ piece from Mark Douglas was posted by LCBP but I’m reposting it as there was a lot of ‘noise’ on the blog last night and I think a lot of readers might have missed it. It’s a long article but some jaw-dropping revelations from inside the club. Read it all.

Hopefully we will hear some news straight after the game tomorrow, if not Monday at the very latest.

Jib….. Beautiful song. Love Chicago, Brought back some emotional memories. I’ve been very unlucky in both my marriages. My first wife left me and the second one didn’t .

I’ve read the article, it makes very depressing reading.

Could be a background script for one of those Nordic noire bleak BW (appropriate) films.

Rafa might as well play the likes of Saivet and Sterry tomorrow, might give a bit of interest to a meaningless (as far as we are concerned) game.

Entries for “Song for Rafa” seem to be better than Eurovision. Though maybe that’s not too difficult…

@Ron Knee …and of course Terry Kath was one of the all time gutar greats.

Jonjo is here to stay. No club will wants him. Hope he can try his best if he plays.

I for 1 wouldn’t want him to be here.
