Two More Pre-Season Friendlies Arranged

Bohemian FC of Dublin, Ireland has posted on their web-site that Newcastle will play them in Dublin as part of their pre-season plans, and it comes at the end of a week-long training camp in Ireland.

The training camp will be held between July 9th and July 16th in County Kildare and that comes about 10 days after the team will report back for training around 28th June.

Newcastle will take on the League of Ireland club as their first pre-season friendly;  Bohemian FC were founded in 1890 – two years before Newcastle United.

There is also news that another friendly will be played in Belgium to take on Sporting Club Lokeren on July 24th, with a kick-off time of  6:00 pm.

It was reported earlier today on the Corby Town web-site website that Corby  along with three other clubs – Leeds United, Newcastle United and PSV – will compete for the Steel Park Cup on the weekend of Saturday July 23rd and Sunday July 24th.

Newcastle have agreed to send a side to compete in that tournament on that weekend, two weeks before the Championship season kicks off.

It looks like a number of friendlies for Newcastle are being set up and we would expect an announcement of the full pre-season schedule soon.

Comments welcome.
