Rafa Benitez in part two of the exclusive Q&A with the Chronicle has today talked about the transfer market again.
Yesterday that was one of the areas he updated fans on and it was a positive update indeed from the Newcastle manager, although we have still to capture our first signing this summer.

This is what Rafa said about the transfer market yesterday in the Chronicle:
“We don’t have to sell, that is clear, unless we think it is the right thing to do for the club and for the squad.”
“But also the level of performance that the team showed at the end of the season makes me feel sure that we have already the basis of a good team for next season.”
“We are very busy and things are very positive.”
Today Rafa has talked a little bit more on the transfer market and he has said Newcastle have money to spend and that the club is in a very strong position.
Rafa was asked how much money he would have to spend this summer:
“Again, I will say it is dangerous to talk about the budget.”
“If we talk about the budget in public then every club and every agent knows how much you have to spend.”
“That doesn’t help Newcastle United.”
“We have money to spend where we need to – and we don’t have to sell, so we are in a very strong position.”
Rafa has more than hinted the club will be very active in the transfer market throughout the summer.
We’ve already been linked with a number of players and today we have been linked with 28 year-old Maccabi Haifa hit-man Eran Zahavi in The Sun.
