In his interview with the Chronicle yesterday Rafa said he has been talking to both the Newcastle staff and the Foundation and he is impressed with the work they do with various charities in the area.
And while Rafa is pleased with what’s already being achieved he also believes that even more can be done in the local community.
Rafa was asked if the club have further plans to improve community relations and whether there will be an open training session this summer, as we had last summer with Steve McClaren?
This is how Benitez responded initially to that question:
“Yes, we will have an open training session for supporters for sure.” “We want to bring fans closer to the club and to the players, we are all a team together.”
“And the club is also a really big part of the city and the community.” “I have been talking to the staff and talking about the club’s Foundation, and also about the local charities in the North East.”
“The club already does excellent work in the community, and we can add to that and hopefully do more.”
Newcastle United have always been a big part of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne and from what Rafa has said yesterday he wants it to be an even bigger part of the City in an effort to bring everybody at Newcastle together.
Sounds good to us!
