These Nine Players To Be Moved Out This Summer

1:36 pm, Saturday, June 11th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 206 Comments

Rafa Benitez wants to bring in five or six new players this summer and according to his comments in the Chronicle last week,  things appear to be very positive on that front.

The Premier League confirmed yesterday the retained list of every Premier League club of last season – and it listed Newcastle’s 42-man squad.

Newcastle released Steven Taylor and while Remy Cabella is still on the list he will be sold on July 1st to Marseille for around £6.3M.

remy cabella marseille

Remy Cabella – will sign for Marseille

Here is the 42 man list in full with those in bold the ones we think we need to unload this summer:

Aarons, Rolando
Ameobi, Samuel
Anita, Vurnon San Benito
Armstrong, Adam James
Barlaser, Daniel Tan
Bigirimana, Gael
Cabella, Remy – will be sold to Marseille
Cisse, Papiss Demba
Colback, Jack Raymond
Coloccini, Fabricio
Darlow, Karl
De Jong, Siem
Dummett, Paul
Elliot, Robert
Gillesphey, Macauley (Offer)
Gilliead, Alex Nicholas
Good, Curtis
Gouffran, Yoan
Gutierrez, Ayoze Perez
Haidara, Massadio
Heardman, Tom (Offer)
Janmaat, Daryl
Krul, Timothy Michael
Lascelles, Jamaal
Mbabu, Melingo Kevin (Extended)
Mbemba, Chancel Mangulu
Mitrovic, Aleksander
Riviere, Emmanuel
Roberts, Callum
Saivet, Henri
Satka, Lubomir
Shelvey, Jonjo
Sissoko, Moussa
Smith, Liam Phillip (Offer)
Sterry, Jamie Michael
Thauvin, Florian
Tiote, Cheik Ismael
Toney, Ivan Benjamin Elijah
Townsend, Andros
Vuckic, Haris
Wijnaldum, Georginio
Woodman, Frederick John

So Sammy Ameobi, Gael Bigirimana, Remy Cabella, Papiss Cisse, Fabricio Coloccini,  Yoan Gouffran, Emmanuel Riviere, Henri Saivet and Haris Vuckic have no future at Newcastle and should be unloaded this summer – either sold or sent on loan.

New signing Saivet seems to have no future at Newcastle, simply because Benitez didn’t play him at all and he was hardly even on the bench.

We have a feeling Rafa will want to keep Cheick Tote maybe for a couple of years and the manager will be able to take a look at 23 year-old defender Curtis Good – who is finally fit again after being injured back in March of 2014 playing his first ever game for Australia

Rafa will also want to take a look at Florian Thauvin in pre-season, before deciding on  the Frenchman’s future.

The moving out of those nine players will help with the wage bill too – and as we said we expect five or six players to be brought in by Rafa this summer.

Who do you think should leave the club this summer?

Comments welcome.

    No surprises with that list.
Goufran could do a job in the championship.
I would not be unhappy to see Janmaat and Wijnaldom leave if the price was right.

    Oh and Anthony McPartlin
    Ant of Ant and Dec
Is being investigated by Operation Yewtree
You heard it here first !

  • 3 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 1:55 PM

Jib, just caught that as i was about to switch off. Wtf is that about de gea? Pray, spill the beans you old newshound. 😉

Ed’s wish list! should have been those in bold are the ones i think should be shipped out coz most likely rafa benitez might see differently from u Ed

    Goal to the swiss!

  • 6 Jib // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:07 PM

    Bobby
I was watching the rugby thisafter with a couple of Spanish journos – pumping them for info about NUFC.

They had none – but they told me the guy that paid a fortune to stay out the papers was an ex owner of Watford FC.

Ant out of AntandDec is being investigated for paedophile behaviour – as is De Gea the Manu Goalie
    Sheesh

The stuff you learn when you get a couple of journalists pissed !

It only cost me €45 !

  • 7 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:13 PM

Jib, 45 quid well spent! I’d heard de gea had been sent home, but assumed it was injury related. Don’t listen to mainstream news much, it’s so full of crap. Only tell you what they want you to know. Very interesting. He can get padded up with Adam Johnston in that case. 😉

  • 8 Jib // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:16 PM

Mental image of Adam Johnson practising pens against DdG in the yard at Frankland !!!
    ha ha ha

He is not in Frankland though

  • 10 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:21 PM

Expat, right, he didn’t get sentenced up here did he? Still, Frankland, Garth, wherever. 😉 If they ended up together, get your money on the prison team to win the league! 😉

Very niggley game this one. Could finish ten against ten at this rate. No prisoners being taken here, that’s for sure. Pun completely intended. 😉

Here is a trivia question for you. When was the last time before today when vrothers played against each other for fifferent national teams?

  • 20 expatmag // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:32 PM

    Bobby

Apparently he is supposed to have organised a party where 2 unnamed footballers sexually assaulted 2 women. I think it was supposed to have been in Spain but he is denying it all

  • 21 Jib // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:33 PM

    Bobby

Do you think Expat may have been consigned to Van Diemans land for being a boring unimaginative tosser ?

    “D’oh but they ain’t in Frankland D’oh”

It’s easy to believe Mr Tuff and him are good pals !

  • 22 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:33 PM

  • 41 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:52 PM

An interesting if not technically good game. A red card was on the books from pretty early though and now Albania will want to even things up no doubt. Cana is an ex mackem, whoever asked. I expect a scrappy second half, with more niggly bits.

  • 42 Mister Tuff // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:52 PM

Bobby….heading towads midnight here and this game needs to seriously liven up to keep me awake.

  • 46 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:57 PM

    England 2-1 imo.

  • 47 Mister Tuff // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:59 PM

expat go for 2 -1 – Rashford to come on and score the winner.
Not much invention in midfield – maybe Alli /fitting the team around Rooney -not good.

  • 48 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:59 PM

Expat, aye, nothing like the French game is it? As long as it stays just one, Albania have a punchers chance, but if Switzerland score again it’s curtains i reckon.

  • 49 expatmag // Jun 11, 2016 at 2:59 PM

Dont realy know much about Russia to be honest

  • 50 expatmag // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:01 PM

Looks a fairly open tournament this year with a few decent teams but none really outstanding. Anyone of half a dozen could win it.

  • 51 Jail for Ashley // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:02 PM

Commentator on Radio five said it was the first time brothers faced each other at the Euros. Boetangs faced each other in WC.

  • 52 expatmag // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:03 PM

Mistake building the team around Rooney. They should do that with Ali and really push Sterling on.

Vardy would be a very good impact option

  • 53 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:09 PM

Credit to Albania, they’re at least giving it a go. Always look vulnerable at the back though.

  • 54 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:12 PM

The question was about internationals, not the Euro’s.

  • 55 Munster Mag // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:16 PM

  • 57 Jail for Ashley // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:18 PM

    That’s what the commentator said.

  • 58 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:19 PM

You might understand Hodgson building a team around Rooney if he had excelled in a tournament situation in the past. Ffs, he doesn’t even know what his position is any more. There’s better strikers and better midfielders, but Roy Boy is determined to fit him in somewhere, which is definitely worrying.

  • 59 expatmag // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:20 PM

    JFA

If you took the time to read my question, you would have noticed it was based around all international, not just the euros.

    Expat. 😉

  • 61 posada // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:22 PM

A list of people you want out is a waste of time.
If someone has a contract you can’t get them out unless they want to go.
The only way to manage footballers on big money is to stay positive with them all.
Then wait for opportunities to get them out. If a contract ends or an offer comes in.
I think RB will appreciate this fully.

  • 62 expatmag // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:22 PM

    Bobby

With the youth of the squad, it might have been wise for Roy to use this tournament grooming the younger players in his squad in readiness for the russian world cup

  • 63 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:23 PM

    Great save!

  • 64 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:27 PM

Expat, aye, this obsession with Rooney is puzzling. Don’t know how true it is but i heard Vardy was out and Rooney playing up front. Surely the striker at manure is Rashford, not Rooney? Ijust don’t get it myself.

  • 65 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:29 PM

  • 68 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:37 PM

G’night expat. When you wake up England will be top of the table hopefully. 😉

  • 69 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:40 PM

Swiss lucky to get away with that like. Albanian keeper looking good after his earlier error. Kept them in it really.

  • 70 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:45 PM

Great chance, great save. Got to feel for Albania a bit though.

  • 71 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 3:52 PM

Unlucky Albania. Deserved something out of that, but that’s life i suppose. Good effort.

  • 72 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:08 PM

Steven Fletcher and Gaston Ramirez are available. I think they’d be great signings. Sign them with Abeid, Baines and that Israelian bloke and then we’d slash the league.

  • 73 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:09 PM

I’d rather us sell Wijnaldum than Sissoko. Sissoko is our best player in my opinion.

  • 74 Mister Tuff // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:13 PM

    Wow – “grooming younger players”.

Jib will be on next claiming a sex scandal scoop -with information from a couple of drunken hacks that cost him a tenner.

  • 75 cyprus // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:16 PM

Now benitez has thrown a spanner in the works. Here was everyone riding the Sissoko hate wave and Rafa likes him. Made him captain too. And we trust him completely, right? Dam it man. What to think now ?

  • 76 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:18 PM

Welshie, are you still there? Come on then marra, what’s your lads going to do in this first match? Play it cautious and not get beat, or go for it from the off? You’ve got to attack really, it’s where your strength is innit?

  • 77 clinath@ed // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:23 PM

The ONLY reason I can see for Rooney’s inclusion is that of experience. Other than that…..I wouldn’t have even took him.

  • 78 Mister Tuff // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:23 PM

    ” 2 – 0 to Slovakia.

  • 79 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:27 PM

Still think he’s a lazy twat who has absolutely no interest in playing for us and probably never has Cyprus.

And i’m still praying gets his wish.

  • 80 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:27 PM

    *He*

  • 81 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:28 PM

Cyprus, trust in what you believe in. Nobody will agree with Rafa on everything after all. With Sissoko, it’s not a hate thing – for me anyway – it’s more really annoyed. I know how good he can be, which is why when he’s anonymous it’s so annoying. Rafa will do what Rafa will do regardless of us though. 😉 He’ll do what he thinks is best for the club and I can trust his judgement on that.

  • 82 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:32 PM

Decent day so far for English sport. Cricket going well, but even better was the scoreline in the Rugby down-under. Just need the football team to do it later and it’s a great day all round.

  • 83 Blackley and Brownlie // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:35 PM

I was thinking the same myself. It could end up costing Jib more than 45 euros. Potential defamation as well as a breach of a court gagging order. I’m surprised Tuff isn’t onto this one. As long as Ed is happy with it. Assuming he knows.

  • 84 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:37 PM

I think he is for sale at the right price by the way. You usually pay more money for something when it’s “not for sale” 🙂

    Bobby

Sorry for the late reply, don’t know what’s going to happen, play it nice and cool and when we get the opportunity need to take our chances, no pressure on us in this tournament.

  • 86 Mister Tuff // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:53 PM

Blackley – you are correct clear contempt of court committed by Jib in suggesting who the person was.
Ed also falls foul by allowing it to be published.
Jib could be practicing penalties with Adam Johnson and de Gea at nice lodgings provided by HM Prison Service.

  • 87 Mister Tuff // Jun 11, 2016 at 4:57 PM

Time for us English to sweat now…..

  • 136 Bobbybee // Jun 11, 2016 at 6:56 PM

Well done welshie, enjoy your celebrations marra. Anyway, i’m away to my brother’s to watch England. Please note, this journey in no way involves an ambulance and if i get home earlier than expected, it is not a conspiracy nor have i developed the skills to fly. Phew, i hope that covers it all. Enjoy the game lads, catch ye all later. 😉

  • 139 AncientC // Jun 11, 2016 at 7:33 PM

Aaron Ramsey worked his socks off, but what a useless player he is at times. It must be frustrating to be a Wales fan and watch Ramsey.

Lallana is a much better player in my opinion.

    yep good start

  • 148 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:22 PM

Need one of these chances to go in while we are on top

  • 149 Yo-yo // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:23 PM

Skrtl looked so amazed when he got booked at the end. He won’t survive the group stage with that standard of play. Should have been red carded anyway. A lot of Slovakian bookings in that match.
England looking like a side of individuals at the moment, whereas Wales were a team. Russia yet to wake up. Lallana final touch has deserted him so far, but he’s very lively.

  • 150 welshgeordie9 // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:26 PM

Why is Kane taking all the corners.

  • 151 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:27 PM

    Yo-yo

Cant agree about the individuals thing. I think we are building attacks and making chances as a team. We need a goal

England have got so many creative midfielders to create chances but they decide to go with a forward, quite bizarre.

  • 155 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:33 PM

    Welsh

Belated well played to Wales. Thought the officials were sh1te in your game. Pen and red card all day for squirtle. Mind, would that incident have happened if yhe ref had not given you a free kick on the edge of your own area, for a tackle where the slovakian clearly got the ball miles first? Like i say. Terrible reffing all round

    You deserved the win though.

  • 156 welshgeordie9 // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:34 PM

Passing the ball around a lot better than Russia, quicker England get a goal the better.

  • 157 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:35 PM

    Welsh

Yeah, rooney should be taking them. Hes in mf tonight, and knows how to pick a good ball. Our tallest striker taking them is bewildering

  • 158 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:37 PM

Our traditional tournament bad luck is here again. We should have 2 or 3 by now

  • 159 welshgeordie9 // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:38 PM

    YouCouldn’tMakeItUp

The thing is mate, they had half chances, we were lucky at times but England will be a much harder test, England would have put some of those chances away, if we get a chance we have got to put them away, don’t think we wil win, our best chances will be a draw if we are lucky.

  • 160 welshgeordie9 // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:42 PM

How come England never win their first match, hopefully that will change tonight.

  • 161 Bambams // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:44 PM

We need to take one of these chances

  • 162 Yo-yo // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:45 PM

Nope YCMIU, still not looking like a totally tight unit to me just yet, but they are playing really well individually, so maybe it doesn’t matter.
I have always felt the reason England under-perform in these tournaments is that England don’t seem to quite gel solidly as a team. They have some phenomenally talented individuals though. I think SBR welded them together better than anyone in recent years.
It’s really hard to put your finger on it but for me it is like the difference between Leicester and Man City this year.
They are a good side for sure, but that isn’t necessarily a team. Wales have to be a better team as they are less talented individually, with a few exceptions. That is what Speedo did for them. He was a great national team manager and I still miss him.

  • 163 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:55 PM

Did you not see some of the balls Kane put in the box for Spurs last season then?

If you did you’ll no exactly why he’s taking the corners.

  • 164 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:58 PM

    Belfast

It’s no good when you dont have any other players who can put them in the net, though. He needs to be in the box, or we need anothe forward on.

  • 165 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 8:59 PM

  • 181 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 9:58 PM

Worst thing about that result Russia are absolutely shit.

  • 182 toonking // Jun 11, 2016 at 9:58 PM

roy hogson or should I say pardew number 2

Pickes players based on key play from the past ie sterling, keeps those on great form on the bench ie vardy and uses players incorrectly out of position ie Kane taking corners.

Had Kane been the one in the centre then we might have scored from a corner, had vardy been on the pitch in the second half we might have got an easy chance on the break all that stuff didn’t happen it was a case of being hopeful we score in the more difficult situationsand once we go 1-0 ahead sit back allow russia to attack whilst we show poor effort on the break.

    Roy hogson pardew no 2

  • 183 Average_Contents // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:04 PM

    Mark

I’ve always liked Wilshire, very good technically but as you said, he’s made of mush.

Just think, in my eyes, Townsend done more in 12 games for us than sterling did all season for shiteh so why did he go instead.

Oh yeah, he cost £50m and plays for a top 4 club.

    Bit of a joke tbh.

We should of taken more of our numerous chances and paid the price for not doing so.

    You get what you deserve.

  • 184 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:05 PM

Right . Im offski. The web is over negative, and that idiot comment about woy being pardew 2 is bloody rediculous. Give over. Mentalist. Goodnight. Going to watch a film.

    Pardew 2???? Tool

  • 185 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:06 PM

Toon king I completely understand that corner tactic because he’s the best striker of the ball and can whip it in with pace. Their defenders would eat and drink the floated set pieces all day long. He’s not really Shearer esq in the air either.

  • 186 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:08 PM

    A_C

I will respond to you before I go. Yes I agree we should have taken our chances, but it only ever seems to happen to england. Im gutted.

I would also have taken townsend instead of wheelchair… or sturrinjury

  • 187 Belfast // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:09 PM

Vardy should definitely be in the starting 11 though, even if it means playing wide. You can’t leave him out after the season he’s had imo

  • 188 Yo-yo // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:12 PM

Interesting combinations possible now with England drawing.
If Wales beat Russia or England, they will stand a good chance of qualifying. The Russia / Slovakia game is looking crucial. A draw would suit both Wales and England. Slovakia will surely have a good spell against England but should still lose.

BTW JIB 5 million people in Scotland already know about who the mega injunction involves – it was published here in a Sunday paper a few weeks ago as we have a different legal system. You could have just driven up to Berwick and got a Sunday paper, no need to get drunk with some dodgy Spanish journos.

  • 189 toonking // Jun 11, 2016 at 10:16 PM

    belfast

The trouble with kane taking corners is that we’re keeping the player with the best goal scoring ability away from the box and become more relient on an out of form sterling or an aging rooney. Kane could have been a decent choice for corner kicks had vardy been playing because vardy himself is on great goal scoring form and could make the finish but he wasn’t. I’m beginning to think vardy should have stayed away from england and continued to party with his other leicester city players because roy doesn’t even seem keen on using him as a sub.

As soon as England scored there was an immediate huddle of Roy and 3 other coaches -obviously talking about subs.

    Did not really work out.

To protect a 1-0 lead with that ability on the bench is criminal.

He has a chance to change, If he does not change, we’re out early again!

  • 202 Veltmann // Jun 12, 2016 at 3:36 AM

That was a heart breaking goal.Didn’t know what Roy was thinking there, allowing Harry Kane to stay on the field the whole 90min?In my eyes, he should have subbed him for Vardy atleast after taking the lead to finish them off.Did not get what Kane have done in the game?
Atleast Vardy could’ve terrorized them with his pace and probably finished them off with 10 or 15 min remaining.Plus those short minutes might gave him a lift and what it looks like playing in such big tournament. And Joe Hart looked nervous. His distribution was poor and was in poor concentration. He should have spring out in his goal line and punched that high ball & saved it before headed by Russian player in to his goal.Too many mistakes seen I’m afraid and put themselves in a lot of pressure in the games ahead!

  • 203 expatmag // Jun 12, 2016 at 5:22 AM

Hodgson is a dinosaur. Should have been replaced after the last world cup by someone like the lad from Bournemouth or even Dyche from Burnley

  • 204 Jib // Jun 12, 2016 at 7:30 AM

The usual Summer battle for the top-rated midfielders is hotting up.
Klopp has reservations about the strength of his midfield
You would think with Lallana Can Henderson and Coutinho he would be happy
    But no.
He has always been a big fan of Hector Herrera the litle Mexican who plays for Porto (he tried to get him for Borussia Dortmund).

Herrera is having a vey good CopaAmerica and has caught the eye of Napoli’s Mauricio Sarri (Rafa’s replacement) also.

If Napoli fail to get Herrera then Wijnaldum has been mentioned as their plan “B”.

If Napoli get Herrera would Klopp then consider Wijnaldum and would Rafa sell one of his potentially better players to Liverpool ?

    http://www.record.xl.pt/futebol/futebol-nacional/liga-nos/fc-porto/detalhe/napoles-prevenido-no-dossie-herrera.html

  • 205 Jib // Jun 12, 2016 at 7:56 AM

For Georginho it mst be very flattering to be linked with 2 Italian giants (Roma and Napoli) but if he should go – he may never get another chance at the PL.
If I were Humphrey Nijman at Footballmix I would be telling my best client to give it at least a half season more at NUFC and then review the situation.

  • 206 Jib // Jun 12, 2016 at 8:32 AM

The French press are saying Henri Saivet is not part of Rafa’s immediate plans and he will be going to Nantes but maybe just on loan.
