Newcastle In Negotiations For Several Players

1:13 pm, Saturday, June 18th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 6 Comments

We’re sure that Rafa Benitez wants to get at least one new signing through the door before a week on Tuesday,  when the players report back for pre-season training for what is going to be such an important season for the Magpies.

The Chronicle is reporting that while no transfer is yet close to being completed, Newcastle are in active negotiations for several players.

ross mccormack

Fulham’s Ross McCormack – is he a target?

Rafa presumably wants five or six new players brought in this summer, so that the squad will be stronger and certainly more balanced than it was last season.

We should even have a good defense for next season ….

A number of fringe players still have to be moved out, although Sylvain Marveaux, Gabby Obertan and Steven Taylor will not have their contracts renewed; Fabricio Coloccini is also not expected to stay at Newcastle, but return to Argentina for next season.

Fringe players like Yoan Gouffran, Henri Saivet, Emmanuel Riviere, Haris Vuckic, Gael Bigirimana and Sammy Ameobi are all expected to leave the club this summer.

We have an idea who will leave the club,  but who exactly will be arriving we really don’t know, but we have already (of course) been linked with many different players.

The one player we would love to see signed is Fulham’s Scottish striker Ross McCormack, who scored 23 goals in 49 games for a struggling Fulham side last season.

Who do you want Newcastle to sign this summer?

Comments welcome.

    Welshie
The score flatters England a bit.
While we were the better team , the Wallabies were still in with a shout with 10 minutes to go.

    Ed obviously wants McCormack

I certainly do not !!! why stifle the progress of Armstrong and Perez for a nearly 30 something journeyman footballer . He scores goals in championship but not for me …
