Newcastle To Sign Four Players In 7 Days – First One Imminent

The Shields Gazette is reporting that Rafa Benitez expects his first Newcastle United signing in the next 48 hours, and there’s likely to be three more signings in the next week.

Things are starting to quicken up on the transfer front as Rafa wants the new players to have a full pre-season and indeed it Newcastle can get four players in within the next seven days, as was hinted yesterday, that would be great.

Rafa Benitez – 4 players within the week

Benitez has been working hard at his home in the Wirral this summer as he identified the players he wants early in the summer – and we assume Lee Charnley has been leading the charge to get the new players in – something that Lee has been very good at over past seasons.

The news is that Rafa has also been working on moving players out of the club – and we should see players like Manu Riviere, Yoan Gouffran, Fab Coloccini, Cheick Tiote, Papiss Cisse and Florian Thauvin leaving the club.

A deal has already been made to sell Remy Cabella to Marseille for £7.3M once the transfer window officially opens on July 1st.

This is what Rafa had said to BBC Newcastle yesterday:

“We’re working very hard,” “It’s not easy in the market now, because the prices are so high, but we’re fine.”

“We have three or four things ready, and when I say ready, it’s really, really nearly there but we are waiting for someone who is working at another club and he needs to come back and sign the documents.”

“We are working on both sides but the main thing, the priority now, is to make sure we’re bringing in the players we need.”

Newcastle have been linked with many players like Alvaro Arbeloa, Ross McCormack, Lee Tomlin, Steven Caulker and others and we had a piece on eight players yesterday that we have been heavily linked with.

Things are starting to really move now in the transfer market – and that’s good.

Very good.

Comments welcome.

Personal note – shocked at Brexit vote yesterday – didn’t see that coming.

I think Southampton are in danger of becoming the next Newcastle, a lack of ambition is starting to show and we all know what happens next.

    Jail for Ashley // Jib,
You’ll have to start coming home to collect your pension.

    Why ?

Do they not have banks where you live ?

Do they give you a paypacket everytime you board a helicopter ?

When did this blog become some sort of political hub?

There’s a reason why there’s “no place for religion or politics”.

We don’t even agree on footballing issues around a club we all support.
