Tim Krul is further along in his fitness than we thought and the 28 year-old has tweeted today that he looks very close to being fully fit again.
Tim Krul – Newcastle goalkeeper

Tim will be reporting back to training next Tuesday along with most of the other players and he will be hoping to start the game at Fulham on Friday 5th August.
Rafa Benitez will want to take a look at Tim as he has to decide who is Newcastle’s best goalkeeper for this coming season.
Karl Darlow is fit and did really well in the final eight games of last season and Rob Elliot was our Player of the Season last term, but he will not be fully fit until near the end of the year.
But there is news that new Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants his fellow Dutchman to replace Tim Howard who has left Everton to return to the US and play for the Colorado Rapids.
Krul has only one year left on his contract and Rafa will have to decide if a decent bid comes in from Everton or even Crystal Palace and Alan Pardew – whether Rafa will want to sell the goalkeeper.
We don’t know whether Rafa rates Tim Krul or not, but he saw that both Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow can get the job done for Newcastle in the nets, so if Rafa needs the money he could potentially sell Tim for a decent fee.
We don’t think that will happen, but certainly longer term Rafa will need to sort out who is the number one goalkeeper at Newcastle.
We have three very good ones at the moment.
There could be a decent bid come in for Tim Krul from Everton shortly and Rafa will have to make a decision fairly quickly.
What do you think?
