Matz Sels – Proud To Be A Magpie

If you haven’t watched Matz Sels interview on nufcTV then try to watch it – he comes across as a very positive, very mature young man whose English is very good and he says all the right things.

He said that when he talked to Rafa Benitez he quickly made his mind up to join Newcastle and that “our” goal for this season is to get immediately promoted back to the Premier League.

Matz Sels – Newcastle United goalkeeper

Matz said it was a big surprise in Belgium when Newcastle were relegated last season.

He seems to know all about Newcastle and of course the great Belgian International center-back Philippe Albert, who played for Newcastle United from 1994-1999 – and for three years under manager  Kevin Keegan

Matz seems to have a strong character.

We always hear about British players having grit and determination. Has anyone ever watched our national team over the last 18 years?

If Wijnaldum and Sissoko leave, we’re probs gonna need a new number 10?

I can assure you now, I’ve watched Ritchie a lot over the last 2 years, and he is one of the most grafting wingers you’ll get.
