Good news for Newcastle fans today that it looks like the club are confident of signing Matt Ritchie from Bournemouth – and he was touted over the weekend as being a potential replacement for Andros Townsend if the former Spurs winger decided to leave Newcastle.
And it looks like Andros will leave Newcastle – but to surprisingly join Crystal Palace.
We half expected Andros to stay on Tyneside after he seemed to love playing in front of 52,000 crowds at St. James’ Park last season.
Matt Ritchie – keen to join Newcastle
And it looks like we may have similar crowds this season – even though we will be in England’s second division.
News today in the Mirror that it seems that Matt may be one coming into the club – even this week.
Darren Lewis of the Mirror is reporting the good news this morning.

Matt started his career at Portsmouth and moved to Swindon and then Bournemouth with loan spells along the way at Dagenham & Redbridge and also at Notts County.
He is still only 26 years old, yet he has already made 337 first team appearances with 77 goals.
He qualifies to play for Scotland because his father is Scottish and Matt made his debut against Northern Ireland in a friendly in March of last year at Hampden Park.
We think he would be an excellent signing for Newcastle and it looks like he’s keen to join the Rafa revolution at Newcastle United.
