Grant Hanley Left Out Of Blackburn Friendly Tonight

5:04 pm, Saturday, July 9th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 3 Comments

Blackburn are playing against SV Ried in their opening pre-season friendly match tonight due to start at 6:00 pm local time at the Keine Sorgen Arena, but the game has been put back 15 minutes so the game is about to start.

The news of the team has just been announced and Grant Hanley is not in the squad.

But the reason given is that he picked up a knee injury in training yesterday.

Grant Hanley – close to a Newcastle deal?

But it could also be that Newcastle are close to tying up a deal for him with the news today that we have gone in with a third bid – this time thought to be £4M – to try to get a deal done for the 23 times Scottish International.

Sky Sports is reporting Newcastle will sign Issac Hayden on a five year permanent deal and hopefully we can also tie up Grant Hanley to make that six signings so far this summer.

That would be something.

Comments welcome.

    According to Lancashire Telegraph

Newcastle, who came down from the Premier League last season, made a second, improved bid for Hanley yesterday, worth £4.5m.

Ed, I don’t think the 3rd bid is going to be £4 million when they have rejected £4.5.
