Sky Sports Report – Hayden Will Be Loan Signing For Magpies

It’s been widely reported over the last few days that Newcastle will sign 21 year-old Arsenal’s utility defender Isaac Hayden on a permanent five year deal for ÂŁ2.5M today.

But it’s odd that Sky Sports have just reported the deal will be a loan deal.

Issac Hayden – while on loan at Hull

This is what Sky Sports HQ have just put out:

Newcastle will complete the loan signing of Isaac Hayden from Arsenal on Monday, according to Sky sources.

The midfielder, who spent time on loan at Hull City last season, is on Tyneside and has completed his medical at St James’ Park.

The versatile 21-year-old, who can also play at full-back and as a defensive midfielder, has made two League Cup appearances for Arsenal since 2013.

He has played his way through the England youth ranks up to U20 level and played 24 times for a promotion-winning Hull side last season.

Newcastle should be announcing the deal anytime now – so it will be interesting to see what kind of deal it is – we’d very much prefer a permanent deal.

Maybe it’s a loan deal with an option to buy?

20 minutes after writing this Newcastle announced the signing of Isaac Hayden on a five year permanent deal.

Most loan deals nowadays have an option to buy, maybe a sensible approach for once instead of diving in with both feet for an unproven player?

Thing is, if this kid is liked by Wenger, there is no way we are going to sign him permanently. Arsenal don’t sell thier best kids.

Not a loan deal. Permanent deal. Keith Downie of SSN got it wrong. He has corrected himself since.

On Grant Hanley, a friend of mine has business dealings in Lancashire and some Rovers fans he knows say Hanley is slow and cumbersome, good in the air, commanding but a touch like a sledgehammer…..Saylor in disguise then?

You would think Rafa would decide what he wants in a players contract and then charnley would make it happen. I see no reason to doubt rafa’s ability to organise / arrange / instruct and delegate when needed.

On the subject of the previous blog. It seems pretty obvious to me that as Thauvin is here training but Cabella is nowhere to be seen. Cabella is away but Thauvin’s move has fallen through (if it ever existed).
